Simulation analysis for evacuation safety countermeasure in underground facilities (지하공간시설에서의 피난안전대책을 위한 시뮬레이션 해석)

  • 본 연구에서는 재실자의 밀도가 높은 지하상가는 공간의 특성상 화재가 발생할 경우 다량의 유독가스의 발생 및 연기의 이동경로와 인간의 피난경로 일치로 인하여 피난안전에 큰 위험성이 있다고 사료된다. 이에 지하철 역사와 연결되어 있는 지하상가를 선정 후, 일본 피난안전성평가수법과 FDS(Fire Dynamic Simulator) 및 SIMULEX를 이용하여 비교 분석을 하였으며, 그 결과, 화재발생 후 6분이 경과 시 위험한 것으로 판단되었다. 그에 대한 대책으로 자연 배연구를 설치하여 시뮬레이션 수행을 한 결과 가시도확보 및 각 출구에서의 온도가 하강하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • When big fire in high rise building and multiplex happens, the needs for high prevention system of disaster are being increased for getting the real-time scene state, quick lifesaver, and safe life security. In this paper the proposed evacuation guidance algorithm which analyzed the feature and danger of fire in high rise buildings, gave simplicity and scalability. Our research shows as fire and disaster occur in high rise buildings we construct sensor networks and sense realtime location information on fire alive people, and the situation information for fire instructed quick and safe escaping route by using mesh routing algorithm scheme relative to exit sign.

  • Fire has developed from the inter-action of heat at the early state and it is very difficult to estimate the magnitude of the fire. Cone Calorimeter can obtain the important material properties from the exposed part of it. It can be contained that ignition, loss of mass, heat release rate, smoke generation, and gas analysis. The purpose of this study is emphasize on the properties of structural steels in terms of physical, mechanical and that will be important way to build the databases of fire safety.

  • In this study; the evaluation system models for evacuation safety assessment of underground malls were presented and related software program was developed. In addition, database was built integrating various data which were essential to evacuation safety assessment and enabling effective safety assessment with low cost and time. As a results of case study in local underground malls, the evacuation safety assessment system has examined in therms of field applicability and reliability.

  • An offshore plant is vulnerable to fire because of the isolated environment. In particular, the damage to an offshore plant is increased when a hydrant reducing valve, which is a main piece of equipment in an offshore plant, is damaged in a fire. In this study, we conducted a fire safety test for a hydrant reducing valve and proved the validity of our analysis by comparing the results of the test and analysis. Therefore, we here suggest an analysis method for a fire safety test. FSI(fluid structure interaction) was considered in the fire safety test. The reliability of the analysis method was verified by comparing the temperature distributions of the test and analysis. In addition, we verified the problems that were caused in the fire safety test by conducting a structure analysis. At a result, the main problem was found to be deformation of the valve seat.

  • In general, fire and evacuation simulators are used independently to diagnose the safety of building. Because this method does not reflect the movement of pedestrians considering fire spread, it is difficult to expect diagnosis of safety with high accuracy. In this study, we propose the simulation method that can describe the movement of pedestrians in the fire emergency. Our method reflects the FDS fire spread data into FFM and explains the situation in which a pedestrian recognize a fire and escapes to a safe route. This study consists of data linkage between FDS and FFM and development of improved FFM. Experiment of the proposed method is progressed using the EgresSIM. Simulation result shows that the number of evacuees on each exit is affected by the presence or absence of fire and it was confirmed that the evacuation time increase and the bottleneck phenomenon deepened by exit.

A Study on Smoke Extract Vents in a Subway with Screen door by Evacuation Performance Evaluation through RSET vs. ASET based on Computer Simulations (스크린도어가 설치된 지하철 승강장의 대피안전성 평가를 통한 제연환기구의 방재성능 개선방안 연구)

  • This study provides comprehensive design improvements covering technical issues concerning life safety matter In case of fire train stoppage in the middle of a tunnel. Recently Government announced that most of subway platforms will have screen doors in 3 years. Therefore, many fire safety engineers considered that they may contribute on life safety on train stoppage in tunnel. Especially The screen door can protect platform from smoke along tunnel ceiling when fire train stopped in tunnel. The study showed that platform ventilation ducts and the a tunnel ventilation chimney in the middle of tunnel in exiting subway tunnel could not guarantee life safety ability in terms of RSET vs. ASET comparison. Furthermore during evacuation process many peoples may be threatened from the smoke spread from the origin of fire. Although only additional vertical route can be installed in tunnels In order to decrease RSET, it will costs high or no spaces remains in outside on the road. The study suggested that increase of ASET can be best solution without additional escape route, therefore alternative design methods suggested on the base of simulation results. Finally the study shows alternative methods can give good result in terms of evacuation performance evaluation. The evacuation performance evaluation helps the decision-maker to determine the preferred alternatives or upgrades to existing tunnel infrastructure and other measure to meet safety objectives. Finally, the study details the effectiveness of measures the can be taken to reduce the risk of incidents in subway tunnels.
