The major morphological characteristics of 97 lines selected from 1,510 local collection lines of Paeonia spp. were studied and classified into some groups according to their Q correlation. The Coefficient of Variation of 8 characteristics in 97 lines varied greatly with the range from 21.3% to 127.1%. The 22 lines with useful morphological characteristics selected from 97 lines had 2n=10 chromosomes, in which there were no difference among the number of chromosomes of 22 lines. The 97 lines were classified into 14 groups based upon the results of Q correlation analysis obtained from data with 16 quantitative factors; Group III and group VI were divided into two sub-groups. Group I was large flowered lines with a single flower, Group IIIa, doubled flowered lines, Group VII, late maturing lines and Group IX, early maturing lines flowering in 17th May. Group VIII were dwarf type lines which has the shortest stem length and leaf length among 14 groups, which are suitable for potted plants. Group XIII had a lot of stems per plant and a large type leaf with leaf length and width. A needle-type leaf was found in Group X, whereas a wide and oval-type leaf in group XII.

A new spray rose cultivar 'Cherry Tea' was bred from a cross between pink spray cultivar 'Pinocchio' and yellow spray cultivar 'Flair' at the National Institute of Horticultural Research Institute. The cross was made in 2003 and 'Cherry Tea' was finally selected in 2008 after evaluating characteristics for three years from 2006 to 2008. 'Cherry Tea', a light orange spray cultivar grows vigorously and has good vase life. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $137stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 68.8 cm in length of cut flower, 5.5 cm in flower diameter, 34.0 in petal number, and 12.4 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of control cultivar, 'Little Marble'.

A new standard rose cultivar 'Noble Red' was bred by the cross between the pink standard cultivar 'Silba 87' and the red standard cultivar 'Bravo' at the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science. The cross was made in 1999 and 'Noble Red' was finally selected in 2003 after investigating the characteristics such as flower Color, Fragrance, stem length, stem diameter, weight, and number of leaves for three years from 2001 to 2003. 'Noble Red', a red standard cultivar grows vigorously and has good flower shape. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $125stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 71.9 cm in length of cut flower, 6.0cm in flower diameter, 30.8 in petal number, and 9.2 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of control cultivar, 'Rote Rose'.

A new standard rose cultivar 'Snow Ball' was bred by the cross between the red standard cultivar 'Red Sandra' and the scarlet standard cultivar 'Baroness' at the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science, in Suwon. The cross was made in 1998 and 'Snow Ball' was finally selected in 2003 after investigating the characteristics for three years from 2001 to 2003. 'Snow Ball', a white standard cultivar grows vigorously and has good flower shape. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $90.3stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 57.8 cm in length of cut flower, 6.1 cm in flower diameter, 85.7 in petal number, and 15.0 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of control cultivar, 'Tineke'.

More than 0.5 percent of land in Korea is used for cemetery and the rate is growing in spite of the increase in cremation these days. The systematic management of tombs may be possible through the ‘Feature Extraction’ method which is applied to the high-resolution satellite imagery. For this reason, this research focused on finding out the radiometric characteristics of tombs and the classification of them. An IKONOS image of northwest areas of Seoul with 8km x 10km dimension was analyzed. After sampling 24 tombs in the study area, the statistical radiometric characteristics of tombs are analyzed. And tombs were classified based on the criteria such as landscape, NDVI, and cluster analysis. In addition, it was investigated if the aspect or slope of the terrain influenced to the classification of tombs. As a result of this research, authors find that there is similarity between the classification tv NDVI and the classification through cluster analysis. And aspect or slope didn't have much influence on the classification of tombs.

A new spray carnation 'Lepus' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science in 2004. This hybrid was crossed between 'Diamond' and '99257-7 Line' in 2000. The 269 seedling plants were, planted and cultivated in green house. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2001 to 2004), it was finally selected in 2004. 'Lepus' white color with red peak edge is spray type and strong flower stalks. Also, it has medium fragrance, many flowers, and attractive flower arrangement. In particular, flowering was 10 days early and flower stalk was 13cm longer than 'Diamond' (control). In addition, it has medium resistance of Fusarium and the vase life was similar to 'Diamond'.

But from now on Distance Video Lecturing System is to be demanded on not only the expansion to Multiuser Distance Video Lecturing System, but high quality in service for users. To solve these problems, the Multicast Transmission Technology as the dimension of Network as well as highly efficient, advanced Compression Technology should be applied to Video Conference System in company with the expansion of Network bandwidth. The system suggested in this thesis is to help to offer an application service as Distance Video Lecturing System that will make popular on the basis of the character that the next generation Internet will be high speed Network.

Currently, attentions toward the Chinese market have been growing rapidly. Economical values of China are highly appreciated. The current shift of economical environments in China leads to changes in the way of consumers' consumption. The purpose of this study is to identify the Chinese consumers' brand purchasing behavior according to their lifestyle. Questionnaires developed by researcher were distributed and collected from 118 Chinese consumers living in metropolitan areas of China. In research, five different lifestyles were identified; which are the vogue pursuing group, the social intercourse group, the traditional conservative group, the achievement pursuit group, and the passive stagnated group. These groups differed in the perception of cosmetic prices, purchase motivations, post-acquisitional satisfaction, and their demographics. For example, the vogue pursuing group consumers turned out to consider price as the most important element when they purchase cosmetics, while the social intercourse group valued recommendation from others more. Meanwhile the traditional conservative group and the achievement group each used past experience and attributes as their criterion.

We fabricated a vacuum ultraviolet spectre-reflectometer which consists of a deuterium light source, a vacuum monochromator, and a sample chamber and detector module. The operation was performed in the ultraviolet spectral ranges between 115 nm and 330 nm at the vacuum pressure of 3.0 ${\times}$ 10$^{-4}$ Pa. The wavelength of the vacuum monochromator was calibrated with the line spectrum of a low pressure Mercury lamp of 253.652 nm and 184.95 nm wavelengths, and its resolution was 0.012 nm, and the precision of wavelength was $\pm$ 0.03 nm. With this reflectometer and a deuterium lamp, we measured the spectral regular transmittance and reflectance of materials(MgF$_2$, CaF$_2$, BaF$_2$, SiO$_2$, Sapphire) used as optical components over the spectral range between 115 nm and 230 nm.

A new rose cultivar was bred by crossing the red-yellow standard cultivar 'Konfetti' and pink standard cultivar 'Laser' at the Chungcheongbuk-do Agriculture Research and Extension Services. The cross was completed in 2003, after varietal characteristics was tested for 3 years from 2005 to 2007, 'Suryeo' was finally selected in 2007 and registered on the grant of plant variety rights in 2009. The cultivar was developed for a standard-type cut flower with white-pink petals. 'Suryeo' produced 149 stems/$m^2$ in a year and had 64 petals per flower. This new cultivar needed 48 days to flower and showed 12 days vase life. The length of cut stem was about 78 cm, and the fresh weight of stem was 50 g. This cultivar showed high resistance against powdery mildew.
