Temperature Distribution in Ethylene Diffusion Flames Based on Measurement Techniques;Comparison of Thermocouple and Tow-Color Pyrometry (측정방법에 따른 에틸렌 확산화염의 온도분포;열전대 및 이색법 측정 결과 비교)

  • Flame temperatures were measured and compared using a rapid insertion technique and a two-color pyrometry with Abel inversion process in co-flow ethylene diffusion flames. The measured line-of-sight temperature showed very limited usefulness in understanding the detailed soot formation/oxidation process in a co-flow diffusion flame. The flame temperatures could be measured with reasonable accuracy for the soot laden regions in ethylene diffusion flames using two-color pyrometry with an Abel inversion technique. Two-color-pyrometry with Abel inversion was demonstrated as a useful temperature measurement technique for co-flow diffusion flames, expecially under pressure conditions, where a thermocouple is not applicable. The soot volume fraction could be also obtained using tow-color pyrometry with Abel inversion, which provides important information for understanding the soot formation/oxidation mechanism in diffusion flames.

  • 본 연구에서는 층류 연소속도 측정을 노즐 버너로 형성된 분젠화염에서 각도법과 면적법을 이용하여 다양한 조성비를 갖는 합성가스의 층류 연소속도를 실험적으로 측정하였다. 수행된 연구의 합성가스 조성비는 $H_2:CO$ 비가 10:90%, 25:75%, 50:50%, 75:25%이며, 당량비는 이전 연구와의 비교를 위해 0.5에서 1.4까지 수행하였다. 측정된 층류 연소속도는 수행된 다양한 조성비와 당량비 범위에서 수치계산 결과와 타 연구자들의 실험 결과 값들과 잘 일치하였다. 본 연구에서도 층류 연소속도는 $H_2$ 함유량 증가와 함께 증가됨을 알 수 있었으며, 연소속도의 중요한 증가 현상은 당량비의 증가로 확인되었다.

  • The instantaneous flame temperature and soot formation and oxidation in a D.I. diesel engine are measured using a two-color method. The proposed method based on the continuous spectral radiation from the soot particles in the flame is applicable to industrial diesel engines without major modifications of their main characteristics. Measurements are performed at one location inside the combustion chamber of a D.I. diesel engine. Effects of different engine speeds and loads on flame temperature and KL factor which is an index of soot concentration were examined. Little temperature change were observed with increasing rpm, while increased with loads. The higher the flame temperature is, the lower the KL factor is.

  • Simultaneous CH and OH planar laser induced fluorescence(PLIF) and stereoscopic particle image velocimetry(PIV) measurements have been developed to investigate the local flame structure of turbulent premixed flames. The developed simultaneous two radical concentrations and three component velocity measurements on a two-dimensional plane was applied for relatively high Renolds number turbulent premixed flames in a swirl stabilized combustor. All measurements were conducted for methane-air premixed flames in the corrugated flamelets regime. Strong three-dimensional fluctuation implies that misunderstanding of the flame/turbulent interactions would be caused by the analysis of two-component velocity distribution in a cross section. Furthermore, comparisons of CH-OH PLIF and three-component velocity field show that the burned gases not always have high-speed velocity in relatively high Renolds number turbulent premixed flame.

  • 화재현장에서 소방공무원은 화염, 증기, 또는 고온물 등에 의하여 화상사고를 당하고, 이로 인하여 극심한 고통 받고 있다. 따라서 화상 예측에 대한 연구를 통해 화상을 방지할 수 있는 방법을 개발하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 화재시 고온 열유속 조건하에서의 화상 발생에 대한 예측을 수치해석적 방법으로 수행하였다. 생체 열전달 방정식(Bio-heat transfer)을 이용하여 지배방정식을 유도하였으며, 유한차분법(Finite Difference Method)을 활용하여 피부조직에 대한 온도분포를 얻었다. 이를 바탕으로 한 손상함수를 이용하여 2도 화상의 발생 유무를 예측하였으며, 기존의 실험 결과[Stoll and Chianta]와 비교하여 좋은 예측 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • The thickness of flame zone reaction rate and apparent activation energy in the formation reaction of $Ti_3AI$ intermetallic compound were investigated using SHS method which sustains the reaction spontaneously and utilizes the heat generated by thye exothermic reaction itself. In this reaction the thickness of flame zone was 1.4 mm and the reaction rate was $0.4g/\textrm{cm}^2{\cdot}sec$. Also the apparent activation energy calculated using from the experimental data obtained by controlling the realtive green density was 40kJ/mol.

  • For the purpose of obtaining fundamental data which is needed to develope combustion system of LPG engine, we made constant volume chamber and analyzed flame propagation characteristics under different intial temperature, initial pressure and equivalence ratio which affect combustion of LPG. We investigated flame propagation speed of each fuel using laser deflection method and compared with the investigated flame propagation speed of each fuel using laser deflection method and compared with the results of image processing of flame. As a result, the maximum flame propagation speed was found at equivalence ratio 1.0 and 1.1 for LPG and gasoline, respectively. In the lean region, we can see that flame propagation speed of LPG surpasses that of gasoline. On the contrary, flame propagation speed of gasoline surpasses LPG in the rich region. As initial temperature and initial pressure were higher, flame propagation speed was faster. And, as equivalence ratio was larger and initial temperature was higher, combustion duration was shorter and maximum combustion pressure was higher.

  • 금속이나 세라믹 입자를 용사하여 보호피막을 형성하는 기술은 화염을 사용하는 방법에서 시작했으며 용사재료는 분말, 선, 봉의 형태로 공급되었다. 1960년대에 상업적인 plasma 용사장비가 개발되었으며 여기서 사용된 D.C.plasma jet를 이용하여 분말형태의 용사재료를 용융하고 고속으로 피용사테에 용융입자를 분사하여 피용사체면에 충돌시켜 다층의 얇은 피막을 형성한다. 최근(1985년)에는 R.F.(Radio Frequency) Plasma를 이용하여 열전도도가 작은 재료나 산소와 반응성이 큰 재료를 용사하는 방법도 개발되고 있다. 용사피복법은 현재 여러가지 방법이 실용되고 있으며 재료를 용융하는 열원에 따라 분류하면 표1과 같다. 즉 산소와 연료 가스의 혼합에 의한 연소나 폭발에너지를 이용하는 가스식 용사법과 Arc, Plasma등의 전기 에너지를 이용하는 전기식 용사법으로 크게 나눌 수 있다.

  • An experimental study was performed for the combustion-field visualization of the burner which burns the liquid hydrocarbon fuel atomized by an ultrasonic oscillator. Configurations of the flame and temperature gradient were caught by both high-speed camera and thermo-graphic camera, and those images were analyzed in detail through a post-processing. In addition, the fuel consumption was measured using the balance during the combustion reaction. As a result, the consumption of atomized fuel increased with the increasing flow-rate of carrier-gas, but any correlation between the air/fuel ratio and carrier-gas flow-rate was not found at the low flow-rate condition. Also, the combustion-field grew and reaction-temperature rose due to the strengthening of combustion reaction with the increasing flow-rate of carrier-gas and power consumption of ultrasonic oscillator.
