화생방보호의 설계 개념 연구 (A Study on the Design Concept for NBC Clothing)

  • The selection factors of the protective clothing against the NBC agents are the protection(chemical, biological, TIMs), duration, weight/comfort, dexterity/mobility, size, visibility, cleaning and unit cost, etc. To develop the NBC protective clothing, we should need to review about the design concepts of the protective materials(shell and liner fabric) and form. This paper identify an important factors for the protective materials and form, and presents design strategies for important factors based on the evaluation results of the materials and the form.

  • This work describes the ventilative NBC CPS(Nuclear Biological and Chemical Collective Protection Systems). The operational requirements of NBC CPS is derived using systems engineering approach. The NBC CPS system operational architecture which describes the operational concept of NBC CPS is proposed using a computer aided systems engineering tool.

레이저 무기의 발전추세

  • 광속의 레이저 무기가 실용화될 경우 방공 및 미사일 방어, 각종 곡사화기 공격에 대한 방어 등에 매우 획기적이라는 점을 이미 선진국에서 인지하고, 막대한 투자를 하고 있다. 특히 화생방 무기를 장착한 미사일 공격시 고고도 및 우주에서의 요격을 통해 그 효과를 상당히 무력화 시킬 수 있다는 점은 매우 매력적이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 점에 비추어 볼 때, 레이저 무기 개발에 대한 관점을 군이 아닌 국가적인 차원에서 접근하여야 할 것으로 생각된다.

  • 현재 항공작전은 작전에 영향을 미치는 각종 장애요인들을 고려하지 않고 있다. 보다 효율적인 항공전력운용을 위해서 이들 장애요인들을 예상하고 대비한다면 좀 더 실질적인 항공작전 계획수립에 도움이 될 것이다. 본 연구는 이들 장애요인들이 항공전력 산출에 미치는 영향을 파악하여 항공작전 임무수행 능력, 가용전력 파악을 통해 효과적인 진력 운용에 대해 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 시뮬레이션 분석 도구인 AREA 10.0을 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 항공전력 산출의 장애요인을 기상, 화생방 상황, 항공기 고장, 적 교전 손실의 4가지로 한정하여 분석하였다. 또한 민감도 분석을 통해 전천후 부장 사용 및 화생방 상황 증가에 따른 전력 산출의 변화를 분석하여 전시 항공작전 장애요인이 전력산출에 끼치는 영향에 대해서 연구하였다.

효과적인 중성자 차폐를 위한 경량 연자성 물질 활용방안 연구 (Study on the Application of Soft Magnetic Material for Effective Neutron Shielding)

  • This study analyzes the neutron shielding performance of Soft Magnetic Material and proposes a military application. In general, the military protection facility has been constructed with thick concrete, so Soft Magnetic Material, consisting of boron, was used with concrete in this study. To do so, Monte-Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) was applied to simulate the Watt-fission neutron spectrum of 235U and 239Pu. As a result, a configuration of polyethylene and Soft Magnetic Material is evaluated about four times better than borated polyethylene concerning the atomic weight of boron inside each shielding material. Also, when a nuclear weapon explosion is simulated in MCNP, 1 mm of Soft Magnetic Material with 20 cm of concrete shows about 55% more additional neutron shielding performance compared to when Soft Magnetic Material is not used. In this work, the neutron shielding performance of Soft Magnetic Material could be identified and Soft Magnetic Material would be useful for neutron shielding if applicable to concrete structure.

화생방 보고관리 및 모델링 S/W 시스템(NBC_RAMS)의 라그랑지안 퍼프 및 입자 모델에 따른 화학작용제 이송·확산 분석 (A Study on Transport and Dispersion of Chemical Agent According to Lagrangian Puff and Particle Models in NBC_RAMS)

  • This research mainly focuses on the transport and dispersion of chemical agent plume according to the Lagrangian Puff Model and Lagrangian Particle Model of NBC_RAMS(Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reporting And Modeling S/W System). NBC_RAMS was developed with the purposes of estimating the fate of Chemical, Biological, and Radioactive(CBR) agent plumes and evaluating damages in the Republic of Korea. First, it calculates the local weather pattern, i.e. wind speed, wind direction, and temperature, by considering the effects of land uses and topography. The plume behaviors are calculated by adopting the Lagrangian Puff Model(LPFM) or Lagrangian Particle Model(LPTM). In this research, we assumed a virtual chemical agent exposure event in a stable atmospheric condition during the summer season. The plume behaviors were estimated by both LPFM and LPTM on the used area(urbanized and dry area) and the agricultural land. The higher heat flux in the used area led to stronger winds and further downward movement moving of the chemical agent than the farmland. The lateral dispersion of the chemical plume was emphasized in the Lagrangian Puff Model because it adopted Gaussian distribution.

화생방 보호의 성능평가를 위한 무선 실시간 가스 검출기 개발 (Development of Wireless Real-Time Gas Detector System for Chemical Protection Performance Test of Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Man-In-Simulant Test(MIST) provides a test method to evaluate chemical protective equipments such as protective garments, gloves, footwear and gas mask. The MIST chamber is built to control concentration of chemical vapor that has a activity space for two persons. Non-toxic methyl-salicylate(MeS) is used to simulate chemical agent vapor. We carried out to measure inward leakage MeS vapors by using passive adsorbent dosimeter(PAD) which are placed on the skin at specific locations of the body while man is activity according to the standard procedure in MIST chamber. But more time is required for PADs and there is concern of contamination in PADs by recovering after experiment. Therefore detector for measuring in real time is necessary. In order to analyze in real time the contamination of the personal protective equipment inside the chemical environment, we have developed a wireless real-time gas detector. The detector consists of 8 gas-sensors and 1 control-board. The control-board includes a CPU for processing a signal, a power supply unit for biasing the sensor and Bluetooth-chipset for transmission of signals to external PC. All signals from gas-sensors are converted into digital signals simultaneously in the control-board. These digital signals are stored in external PC via Bluetooth wireless communication. The experiment is performed by using protective equipment worn on manikin. The detector is mounted inside protective equipment which is capable of providing a real-time monitoring inward leakage MeS vapor. Developed detector is demonstrated the feasibility as real-time detector for MIST.
