A study on the Estimation of $CO_2$ Emission in Container Port by using Container O/D Analysis (컨테이너 O/D 분식에 따른 $CO_2$ 배출량 추정)

  • According to the issue "global warming", many regulations and agreements with countries in the world are becoming set and it is being fulfill now. Under the progress of Post Kyoto Protocol agreement, It will be sure that Korea rave a duty to reduce $CO_2$ emission from 2013. For them, Korea have to make a strategies about the Climatic Change Convention for all industries. Recently, a great attention about $CO_2$ emission in the world is focused on port, shipping line and airline. Most countries are establishing policies to prevent environment from these industry fields, but Korea has not yet made for them. Thus, Korea need to collect $CO_2$ emission data not only the routes of container from port but also activities in the port. In this paper, an estimation of $CO_2$ emission under the route of container transportation at Korea by using O/D analysis will be addressed. And then, it will be used to make a optimal routes of container transportation which can reduce $CO_2$ emission in future.

Classification of Trucks using Convolutional Neural Network (합성곱 신경망을 사용한 화물차의 차종분류)

  • This paper proposes a classification method using the Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) which can obtain the type of trucks from the input image without the feature extraction step. To automatically classify vehicle images according to the type of truck cargo box, the top view images of the vehicle are used as input image and we design the structure of the CNN suitable for the input images. Learning images and correct output results is generated and the weights of neural network are obtained through the learning process. The actual image is input to the CNN and the output of the CNN is calculated. The classification performance is evaluated through comparison CNN output with actual vehicle types. Experimental results show that vehicle images could be classified with more than 90 percent accuracy according to the type of cargo box and this method can be used for pre-classification for inspecting loading defect.

  • In order to build a ship, painting on ship cargo tank is one of the most dangerous parts as it involves working in high altitudes and a closed ship cargo tank. Therefore, researchers have been developing devices that will enable mobile robots to operate on vertical walls. The wall-climbing robots have been widely used to attach on the wall such as suction types. These types can be utilized regardless of the wall material. However, it is required to adhere and control the suction cups. To moderate this drawbacks, this paper proposes an automatic painting robot that uses a permanent magnet mobile robot. Using the magnetic characteristics, this robot can move on the boat vertically and horizontally even while hanging on the ceiling of the ship cargo tank. Also, we made a prototype to test adhesive force of the permanent magnet wheel and mobile robot as well as the towing capacity and auto-piloting ability.

A Study on Stowage Automation Algorithm for Cargo Stowage Optimization of Vehicle Carriers (차량 운반선의 화물 적재 최적화를 위한 적재 자동화 알고리즘 연구)

  • With the development of the 4th industry, the logistics industry is evolving into a smart logistics system. However, ship work that transports vehicles is progressing slowly due to various problems. In this paper, we propose an stowage automation algorithm that can be used for cargo loading of vehicle carriers that shortens loading and unloading work time. The stowage automation algorithm returns the shortest distance by searching for a loading space and a movable path in the ship in consideration of the structure of the ship. The algorithm identifies walls, ramps and vehicles that have already been shipped, and can work even with randomly placed. In particular, it is expected to contribute to developing a smart logistics system for vehicle carriers by referring to the ship's master plan to search for vehicle loading and unloading space in each port and predict the shortest movable path.

  • A ship runs with various modes of motion due to waves. Among the modes, roll mainly influences on the safety of cargos and crew's fatigue. Therefore a ship equipped with anti-rolling devices are on an increasing trend. In this research, we developed a free running model ship to evaluate the performances of fin stabilizer and moving weight stabilizer. Also those performance tests were carried out through the proposed test procedure.

  • As the existing radiation Scanning systems use 2-dimensional radiation scanned images, the low accuracy has been pointed out as a problem of it. Two-dimensional radiation images which have different disparity values are acquired from a newly designed stereo image acquisition system which has one additional line sensor to the conventional system. In this paper, we enhanced the scanning efficiency of the stereo X-ray inspection system using the precision control module.

  • Wave exciting force and moment generate the motions of a ship in waves. Since ship motion exerts the negative influences on a crew's operability, the safety of cargos, passenger's comfort, etc, the anti-rolling devices may be required to reduce such motion. In this paper, the dynamics of the anti-rolling devices such as passive and active moving weight stabilizer and anti-rolling tank, and fin stabilizer are mathematically modeled. While the effect of the motion of the anti-rolling device on a ship was taken into consideration in roll mode only in the past, the 6 DOF coupled equations of motion between a ship and the anti-rolling devices are constituted. Finally the motion of a ship with anti-rolling devices in waves is simulated through the developed simulation program.

  • We tried to improve the $H_2$-sorption properties of Mg by mechanical grinding under $H_2$ (reactive grinding) with CoO. The sample Mg+10wt.%CoO as prepared absorbs 1.25wt.% hydrogen and the activated sample absorbs 2.39wt.% hydrogen for 60min at 598K, $11.2barH_2$. The reactive grinding of Mg with CoO increases the $H_2$-sorption rates by facilitating nueleation(by creating defects on the surface of the Mg particles and by the additive), by making cracks on the surface of Mg particles and reducing the particle size of Mg and thus by shortening the diffusion distances of hydrogen atoms. Hydriding-dehydriding cycling increases the $H_2$-sorption rates by making cracks on the surface of Mg particles and reducing the particle size of Mg.

  • Typical technical issues associated with Floating LNG (FLNG: FSRU and LNG FPSO) design are categorized in terms of global performance evaluation. Although many proven technologies developed through LNG carrier and oil FPSO projects are available for FLNG design, we are still faced with several technical challenges to clear for successful FLNG projects. In this paper, some of the challenges encountered during development of the floating LNG facility (i.e. LNG FPSO and FSRU) will be reviewed together with their investigated solution. At the same time, research of design improvement including new LNG-related technologies such as combined containment system will be presented to overcome the unrevealed challenges for the FLNG development.

Ar 유량 변화에 따라 RF Magnetron Sputterin 법으로 제조된 GZO 박막의 특성변화

  • 투명전도산화물에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있으며, 최근 Ga이 도핑된 ZnO의 연구가 많이 되고 있다. 투명전도산화물은 태양전지, 평면디스플레이와 같은 다양한 분야에 응용이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 RF magnetron sputtering을 이용하여 Ar gas 유량 변화에 따른 GZO 박막을 연구하였다. 기판으로는 유리기판을 사용하였으며, 전기적, 광학적, 구조적인 특성을 조사하였다. 박막의 증착시 초기 압력은 $2.0{\times}10^{-6}$Torr 이하로 하였으며, 증착온도는 상온으로 고정하여 증착하였다. 기판은 Corning 1737 유리 기판을 사용하였고, GZO 타겟은 ZnO : Ga 분말이 각각 97 : 3 wt.%로 소결된 타겟을 사용하였다. Ar 유량변수는 20, 40, 60, 80 sccm으로 변화를 주었다. 유리기판에 증착된 모든 GZO박막은 약 200 nm의 두께로 증착되었으며 모든 GZO 박막에서 85%이상의 투과율을 나타내었다. Ar 유량이 적을수록 투과율을 증가하였으며, 광학적 밴드갭 또한 증가하였다. 공정별로 제작된 모든 GZO박막에서 (002)면의 배향성이 관찰되었고, Ar 유량이 적을수록 박막의 결정성은 향상되었다. Hall 측정 결과 Ar 유량이 20 sccm일 때 전기비저항 $3.46{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}cm$, 전하의 농도 $3.832{\times}10^{-20}\;cm^{-3}$, 이동도 $4.7cm^2V^{-1}s^{-1}$로 전극으로서의 특성을 나타내었다. GZO 박막의 경우 Ar 유량이 적었을 때 결정성이 높아지고, 전극 특성이 더 우수한 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
