Manufacturing of Wood Wool Board Mixed with Waste Paper-Mulberry Fiber and Analysis of Humidity Characteristics (폐닥나무 섬유를 혼입한 목모보드 제조 및 조습특성 분석)

  • The humidity-control function and manufacturing characteristics of wood-wool boards using waste-paper-mulberry fiber were analyzed in this study. For the manufacture of wood-wool boards, the pulverizing times of waste-paper-mulberry fibers were controlled at 30, 60, 120, and 180 s, and the mixing amounts were controlled by adding 0%, 3%, 6%, and 9%, respectively, as compared to cement. Analysis of the moisture adsorption and desorption characteristics of the wood-wool boards controlled for pulverizing time revealed that the wood-wool board with 60 s of pulverized fiber exhibited the best adsorption and desorption performances. It was estimated that the adsorption and desorption performances of the material itself were adequate even when the boards were mixed because of minimal damage to the fiber. In addition, an analysis of the absorption and desorption characteristics of the fiber-mixture-controlled wood-wool boards showed that the 6%-mixed wood-wool board had the best absorption and desorption performances of 291.00 g/m2 and 108.75 g/m2, respectively.

Mixing Characteristics of the Blends Containing Thermotropic Liquid Crystalline Polymer (열방성 액정고분자를 포함하는 고분자 혼합물의 혼련특성)

  • 열방성 액정고분자와 폴리카보네이트를 대상 수지로 하여 용융혼합기로 액정고분자 의 함량, 혼합속도 및 온도등의 변환에 따른 훈련 특성을 측정하고 고분자 혼합물의 혼련조 건과 유변학적 특성 모폴로지 사이의 관계를 조사하였다. 혼련 토크는 100rpm의 혼합속도 에서 극소값을 보이며 혼합기 내의 전단속도가 낮기 때문에 혼력에의해서는 LCP가 섬유상 으로 형성되지 못하고 구형의 입자로 존재함을 알수 있었다. 혼합물의 점도는 시험된 전단 속도 영역에서 순수한 고분자보다 현저히 낮으며 5wt%의 소량 첨가로도 5배의 점도 감소 효과를 보이고 LCP함량이 약 30wt%일 경우 점도 및 혼합에너지가 최소로 되었다. Capillary 레오미터의 실험결과 LCP/PC의 점도비가 1보다 작거나 같튼 전단장하에서 LCP 는 섬유상을 형성하였으며 높은 점도비의 경우 LCP의 변형이 어려워 구형의 입자로 존재하 였다. 또한 혼합물의 PC Tg 이동은 에스터르 교환 반응에 의한 부분적인 혼화성의 증가에 기인함을 알수 있었다.

  • It is shown that Paul and Jones' Rule of Mixtures modified by Smith and Cox's theory can be used for the fiber-reinforced, sulfur-based composites, when the constant for the linear regression equation is given. The computation results, programmed by Hewlett Packard 75C (HP 75C) using math rom pack for the linear regression form, expressed as $E_c=\frac{1}{3}aE_fV_f+bE_mV_m$, turn out to be a=3.27-3.54 b=-2.47~-2.80. This results indicate that the factors such as density of fiber mat and the amount of matrix used have nothing for affecting the numerical value of the constants a and b of the linear regression form. Conclusively this results also show that the Paul and Jones' Rule of Mixtures which has been used for the composites made by randomly-oriented long fiber can also be used for the composites made by short fiber with the same fiber orientation such as wood and lignocellulosic fibers.

  • 섬유의 후가공공정은 그 목적에 따라 유연가공, 발수가공, 방추가공 등 여러 가지로 분류할 수 있고 실리콘은 이러한 공정에서 유용하게 사용되고 있다. 최근에는 이러한 물성을 복합적으로 갖는 다기능형 섬유의 요구가 커지고 있어 복합가공에 적당한 가공제가 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 섬유에 발수성, 유연성, 방추성, 내구성을 부여하기 위한 방법으로 불소계발수제와 상용성이 우수한 반응형 실리콘을 선정하고 이를 불소계발수제, 실란가교제등과 혼합(formulation)하여 면섬유에 적용하여 원하는 물성을 얻기 위한 최상의 가공조건을 개발하고자 한다.   • Recently, application of CSG is increasing in various design construction projects. At the initial stage of cementation CSG materials show the same mechanical characteristics as soil, however, as the cementation process develops, CSG materials gradually reveal material characteristics of concrete. The hardened CSG manifests elastic behavior such as maximum strength at small strain range and rapid brittle failure. In this research, PVA fiber stiffeners were used in order to: (1) reduce such brittle behavioral characteristics; (2) improve the relatively weak tension performance of CSG materials. The binding strength between the bed materials and fiber prevents rapid brittle failure and increases tensional strength of fiber reinforced CSG materials.Test results show that fiber reinforcement alone could induce the stress-strain characteristics of CSG materials from brittle failure to ductile failure and also increase the residual strength.

Strengthening Mechanism of Hybrid Short Fiber/Particle Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites (섬유/입자 혼합 금속복합재료의 강화기구 해석)

  • This paper presents an analytical method considering tensile strength enhancement in hybrid $Al_2O_3$ fiber/particle/aluminum composites(MMCs). The tensile strength and elastic modulus of the hybrid MMCs are even 20% higher than those of the fiber reinforced MMCs with same volume fraction of reinforcements. This phenomenon is explained by the cluster model which is newly proposed in this research, and the strengthening mechanisms by a cluster is analyzed using simple modified rule of mixtures. From the analysis, it is observed that cluster structure in hybrid MMCs increase the fiber efficiency factor for the tensile strength and the orientation factor for the elastic modulus. The present theory is then compared with experimental results which was performed using squeeze infiltrated hybrid MMCs made of hybrid $Al_2O_3$ short fiber/particle preform and AC8A alloy as base metal, and the agreement is found to be satisfactory.

  • A sintering paste for bonding copper plates was synthesized using Cu formate nanofibers on Cu microparticles, mixed with formic acid. Copper oxide nanofibers of 10 ㎛ grown at 400 ℃ on Cu microparticles on the surface were transformed into copper formate nanofibers through the mixing of formic acid. Compared to Cu bulk particles or nanoparticles, Cu formate on Cu microparticles decomposed into metallic Cu at a lower temperature of 210 ℃, facilitating the sintering of copper paste. The growth of nanofiber on Cu microparticles allowed for an increase in the reaction rate of formation to copper formate, aggregating surface area, and decomposition rate of copper formate, resulting in fast sintering.

  • The study was made of the cultural condition and physiological characteristics of the symbiotic pair of microorganisms, Cellulomonas flavigena and the second organism. It also contains the results of a taxonomical study of the second organism. The results obtained wers summarized as follows : 1) Cell yield of the mixed culture, Cellulomonas and the second organism, was higher than that of each pure culture in CM-Cellulose medium. 2) The taxonomical characteristics of the second organism revealed that it probably belonged to the genus Sporocytophaga because it had a gliding motility and microcyst. 3) Optimum pH of the mixed culture was found to be in the vicinity of 7.2, and optimum temperature of the cell growth in the mixed culture was observed to be in the vicinity of 30$^{\circ}C$. 4) It was found that the majority of the population during growth in the mixed culture consisted of Cellulomonas flavigena. 5) Cellulomonas flavigena required thiamine and biotin as growth factors but Sporocytophaga sp. had no requirement of vitamins. 6) Gulucose was not found in detectable amounts in the medium of Cellulomonas flavigena but it was traced in the mixture by thin layer chromatography. 7) Sixteen amino acids were analyzed from the cell protein of Cellulomonas flavigena by amino acid autoanalyzer. The amount of the leucine, valine and arginine was very high.
