멀티코어 프로세서에서의 트리 기반 인덱스 성능 실험 평가 (Empirical Performance Evaluation of Tree-based Indexes on Multi-Core Processors)

  • 점차 더 벌어지는 CPU 속도와 메모리 속도의 차이로 인하여 메모리 접근 병목 현상이 발생하였고, 이 현상을 극복하기 위하여 캐시를 고려한 인덱스 구조에 관한 연구가 계속 되었다. 또한 최근 CPU 트렌드가 싱글 코어에서 멀티 코어로 전환점을 맞으면서 캐시메모리의 효율에 대한 중요성이 더욱 부각되었다. 본 논문은 최신 프로세서를 탑재한 시스템에서 메인 메모리 데이터베이스 시스템을 위한 인덱스 구조들의 성능을 비교 평가하고, 그 중 캐시를 고려한 트리 인덱스의 성능이 유용함을 보인다.

  • 최근 정부의 '태양광주택 10만호 보급사업'을 통해 국내의 태양광 발전 시스템을 설치한 수용가들은 점차 늘어가고 있는 추세에 있다. 이와 관련하여 본 논문에서는 220V 저압계통에 3kW급 태양광발전시스템을 연계한 경우 수용가에 나타나는 현상에 관하여 살펴보았다. 상정 모델 계통은 일반적인 220V 저압 배전계통과 주택용 수용가를 가정하였고, 실제 3kW급 태양광발전 시스템의 출력 데이터를 바탕으로 PSCAD/EMTDC를 이용하여 시뮬레이션하고, 그 결과 220V 저압 수용가 및 LV계통에 나타나는 전기적 현상을 살펴보았다. 본 논문의 결과는 앞으로 3kW급 태양광주택의 보급 증가에 따른 여러 가지 발생 가능한 문제점 및 그 해결책을 제시하는데 많은 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

세라믹 복합막을 이용한 폐윤활유 재생 (Reclamation of Waste Lubricating Oil Using Ceramic Composite Membranes)

  • 막분리에 의한 폐윤활유 재생공정을 개발하기 위한 기초 연구로써 폐윤활유 분리/재생용으로 적합한 복층(multilayer)세라믹 복합막의 제조와 합성막의 폐유 분리 효율등이 연구되었다. 결함이 없고 두께가 균일한 지르코니아 복합막 (기공크기 0.07 $\mu$m 이하)은 압출 성형법으로 제조한 튜브형 $\alpha$-알루미나 담체 (외경 7.8 mm, 두께 0.6 mm, 기공크기 0.7 $\mu$m)내부표면에 역침지 인상법(reverse dip-drawing technique)에 의하여 지르코니아 슬러리를 코팅 한 후 950$\circ$C에서 1시간 열처리하여 제조 되었다. 또한 지르코니아 복합막 위에 니타니아 졸-겔 코팅을 한 후 450$\circ$C에서 2시간 열처리하여 기공크기가 15 nm정도인 3층 복합막을 제조 하였다. SEM, Bubble Point Test, Mercury Porosimeter 그리고 분획 분자량 측정등에 의하여 복합막의 코팅층 두께, 결함유무 및 막의 기공크기등을 분석하였다.

  • 광-회선-패킷 통합 전달망 장비는 광전송망, 회선 망, 패킷 전달망 계층을 하나로 통합한 장비로써, 패킷-회선 교환 전달, ROADM(Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer) 광파장 교환 전달, GMPLS(Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching) 기반 통합제어 및 관리기능을 수행하면서 네트워크 구조의 단순화, 네트워크 제어의 지능화, 그리고 네트워크 용량의 광대역화를 구현한다. 트래픽 폭증과 전송용량 부족 현상을 해결하고, 트래픽 증가 대비 수익의 탈동조화 현상을 극복하기 위해 네트워크 CAPEX(Capital Expenditures)/OPEX(Operating Expenditures)를 절감함으로써 통신사업자의 투자 여건을 우호적으로 조성하면서 최근 주목 받고 있는 기술이다. 본고에서는 광-회선-패킷 통합 전달망의 기술동향을 기술한 것으로써, 배경, 필요성 및 개념 개발동향 및 경쟁기술에 대해서 살펴보고, 기술발전 로드랩 및 주요 기술 동향과 시장 및 사업화 전망에 대해서 분석한다.

실리카 졸 침투법을 이용한 $ZrO_2/Al_2O_3-Mullite$ 복합체의 제조 (Preparation of $ZrO_2/Al_2O_3-Mullite$ Composites Using the Silica Sol Infiltration Method)

  • ZrO2/Al2O3-Mullite composites were prepared by infiltration of the silica sol to the porous ZrO2/Al2O3 bodies. The porous ZrO2/Al2O3 bodies for infiltration were fabricated using ZrO2 (20wt%)/Al2O3 composite powders synthesized by the emulsion-hot kerosene drying method. The preparation of silica sols was conducted by the hydrolysis-peptization of an alcoholic TEOS solution. When ZrO2/Al2O3-Mullite and ZrO2/Al2O3 composites were sintered at 1$650^{\circ}C$ for 4 hrs, both of them showed an excellent sinterability. As the amount of mullite added in the composites increased, the ratio of the tetragonal phase of zirconia to the monoclinic phase at the room temperature became higher. It was known that values of the fracture toughness of the ZrO2/Al2O3-Mullite composites were about 5.48 MPa.m1/2 much larger than that of the ZrO2/Al2O3 system.

  • The sols prepared by dialyzing solutions, in which the hydrolyzed precipitates of TEOT or directly Ti(OC3H7)4 were resolved, were the nanoparticulate sol with the average particle size less than 7 nm and the anatase crystal phase. In the pH range of 1.5 to 2.9, the particle size of the nanoparticulate TiO2 sols (0.09 mol/ι) increased gradually upto 15 nm~26nm with the increase of pH in the initial aging state but the sols were transparent all the time, and stable without growin any more after 30 days. When the slipcasted porous alumina tubes were coated by the sol-gel dipping method, the minimum particle size and the aging time for forming the coated gel layer at the given pH were optimized. For obtaining the very thin crack-free and reproducible membrane coating, the use of a nanoparticulate TiO2 sol (0.09 mol/ι) aged for about 30 dyas at pH=2.0 was found to be the best.

  • Alumina tubes suitable for the support of gas separation membranes have been prepared by the slipcasting technique. These supports have the average pore size of 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ within the narrow distribution. The sol-gel dipcoating process of nanoparticulate sols is very sensitive to microstructure of the support, and the coating on the inside surface of the tube is found to be more successful than on the outside surface. Nanoparticulate silica sols (0.82 mol/ι) have been synthesized by an interfacial hydrolysis reaction between TEOS and high alkaline water. When coating an alumina tube with these sols, the minimum limits of the particle size and the aging time required for forming the coated gel layer at the given pH are provided. It is optimum to coat the support with less concentrated sols stabilized through aging for the appropriate time (more than 22 days) at the lower pH (pH 2.0) for producing a reproducible crack free thin film coating in composite membranes.

  • YBa2Cu3Ox-Ag(YBCO-Ag) thick films were fabricated on the zirconia substrate by a screen printing method. The starting powder was a mixture of YBCO, prepared by a coprecipitation in oxalic acid, and Ag2O. The influence of heat treatment conditions on properties of thick films was investigated. It was observed that Jc of thick films was directly proportional to the orientation factor of thick films and the optimimum preparation condition was the heat treatment of thick films at 100$0^{\circ}C$ for 3 min in O2. The improvement of Jc by the addition of Ag was considered as a result of the suppression of microcracks in the films.

실리카 에어로겔의 표면 개질 (Surface Modification of Silica Aerogels)

  • Silica aerogels were synthesis by the sol-gel-supercritical drying process using isopropanol as a solvent. Effets of the heat-treatment and the surface modification through propoxylation on the structural reinforcement as well as the surface hydrophobic/hydrophilic characteristics of aerogels were investigated. Silica aerogels synthesized by supercritical drying were hydrophobic but aerogels heat-treated above 20$0^{\circ}C$ were transformed to be hydrophilic. In particular it was found that the skeletal structure of aerogels heat-treated at 50$0^{\circ}C$ was strong enough not to crack after adsorbing a large amount of water vapor. Hydrophilic aerogels modified by propoxylation at 28$0^{\circ}C$ for 20 h were reversed to the hydrophobic form. Transition between hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity was reversible. The hydrophobicvity and the hydrophilicity of silica aerogels were attributed to the Si-Oh bond and the nonpolar C-H bond groups of orgainc species respectively.

공동골격을 가진 개방셀 세라믹스의 상대밀도와 압축강도 모델 (Models for Relative Density and Compressive Strength of Open-Cell Ceramics with Hollow Struts)

  • A model for predicting the relative density and the compressive strength of open-cell ceramics with three-dimensional network structure was proposed through the interpretation of their macrostructure and fracture mechanics. The equation predicting the relative density was derived under the assumption that the open-cell structure was a periodic array of the tetrakaidecahedron unit cell consisting of cylindrical struts containing the internal hollow with the shape of a triangular prism. The model for compressive strength of open-cell ceramics with the hollow strut was also developed by modifying conventional model which based on fracture behavior of them subjected to the compressive stress. Both the relative density and the compressive strength were expressed in terms of the ratio of the strut diameter to the length together with the ratio of the hollow size to the strut diameter. The proposed model for the relative density and the compressive strength of the alumina-zirconia composite with open-cell structure were accorded well with the experimental values, whereas Gibson-Ashby and Zhang's model did not show such a good agreement.
