This study came up a library thought and the theory of cataloging through analyzing the life and writings of Seymour Lubetzky who founded the principals of cataloging in the twentieth century. This study investigated the historical social, ideological, and cultural context, using a literature survey and the methodology of historical research. Moreover, this study aimed a comprehensive research based on the results of domestic and foreign fragmentary studies, and analyzed the effects of Lubetzky's thought of cataloging. Thus, this study found Lubetzky's library and cataloging thought. The theory of cataloging that analyzes the above findings is the design of cataloging rules and a bibliographical relationship establishment. First of all, the principles of descriptive cataloging should contain the necessity, simplicity, unity, consistency, finality, and the characteristics of interrelations, and clarify the purpose of cataloging. The bibliographical relationship is built on dividing a work as an intellectual product into a book as a physical substance. Moreover, a basic entry is entered on the basis of author names for planning the concentration of works, and a corporate name and an anonym are contained in the author names for extending the concept of author.

역자 주 - Spalding은 Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules가 세상에 발표되기까지 주역을 맡은 사람으로서 , 1967년도 ‘Margaret mann 목록분류상’을 수상한 현대의 도서관 분야에 있어서 착명하고도 초월한 도서관인의 한사람으로 지목되고 있어, 그럴 이해하는데 도움을 주고자 이 글을 LRTS 1968년 춘계호에서 옮겨 적는다.

Chosundoseohaeje, a book type catalog was published three times under the rule of Japanese imperialism. This catalog has several characteristics of modem catalog as fellows : First, each record of this catalog includes title, volume no., statements of responsibility, printing type, annotated bibliography containing date, author, background, structure, contents of the book, and biographies. Second, this catalog has a subject retrieval system by the four-part classification(Kyung, Sa, Ja, Jib), title retrieval system by Japanese alphabetical index, and authorㆍeditor retrieval system by their family name index or king's name index. Third, this catalog has a system indicating the location of described books by Gyujanggak book numbers.

현대 사회에서 휴대폰은 더 이상 문자 메시지를 송수신하거나 통신을 위한 매개체가 아니라 이동 중에도 인터넷 검색 또는 대용량 데이터를 전송하는 용도로 쓰인다. 특히 통신사에서 제공하는 서비스를 통한 모바일 인터넷 뉴스 기사 검색은 현재 효율성과 주관적 만족도가 떨어진다. 이에 본 연구는 목록 제시 방식이 모바일 브라우징 사용성에 미치는 영향을 보고자 하였다. 따라서 정보 제공의 완전성과 정보 제공의 지연 여부의 2 가지 측면으로 목록 제시 방식을 구분하였다. 탐색 과제를 통한 목록 제시 방식 효과를 비교한 결과 정보 제공이 완전하면서 지연이 없는 레이어드 팝업 조건에서 사용성과 지각된 사용성이 가장 높았으며 정보 제공이 완전하나 정보의 지연이 있는 동적 제시 조건, 정보 제공이 불완전하나 지연이 없는 ‘…’ 조건 순으로 나타났다. 그러나 레이어드 팝업 조건과 동적 제시 조건 간의 유의미한 사용성 차이는 발견되지 않았다. 이 결과는 정보의 지연 여부보다 정보 제공의 완전성이 모바일 브라우징에 더 큰 영향을 준다는 것을 시사한다. 본 연구의 결과는 상이한 디스플레이 방식들 간의 차이만을 살펴보는 수준을 넘어서 현재 적용되고 있는 WAP 서비스의 한계점을 보완하여 사용성을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 구축하였음에 의의가 있다.

The writer investigated the academic values of the titles based upon book annotations included in Gunseo-pyogi, or An Annotated Catalog of books written and edited by the goverment. This paper examined various types of evaluative methods adopted in Gunseo-pyogi, and then compare them to the modern general library criteria of book selection. The writer found the fact that the academic qualifies of books listed in Gunseo-pyogi were even more excellent than the modern criteria for good books in the point of level of authors and contents.

The purpose of this paper is to present core elements of bibliographic records to effective cataloging a variety of information materials such as monographs, non-book materials, serials, and internet resources. At first, AACR2R bibliographic data elements, the minimal level cataloging, and core records proposed by Progrma for Cooperative Cataloging(PCC) in Library of congress are discussed. After that elements of Core Records, dublin Core, KORMARC, and AACR2R are compared. Upon the results, this study suggests mandatory common core elements and optional core elements for cost-effective cataloging to all kinds of documents including internet resources.

This study aimed to develop a Korean emotion vocabulary list that functions as an important tool in understanding human feelings. In doing so, the focus was on the careful extraction of most widely used feeling words, as well as categorization into groups of emotion(s) in relation to its meaning when used in real life. A total of 12 professionals (including Korean major graduate students) partook in the study. Using the Korean 'word frequency list' developed by Yonsei University and through various sorting processes, the study condensed the original 64,666 emotion words into a finalized 504 words. In the next step, a total of 80 social work students evaluated and classified each word for its meaning and into any of the following categories that seem most appropriate for inclusion: 'happiness', 'sadness', 'fear', 'anger', 'disgust', 'surprise', 'interest', 'boredom', 'pain', 'neutral', and 'other'. Findings showed that, of the 504 feeling words, 426 words expressed a single emotion, whereas 72 words reflected two emotions (i.e., same word indicating two distinct emotions), and 6 words showing three emotions. Of the 426 words that represent a single emotion, 'sadness' was predominant, followed by 'anger' and 'happiness'. Amongst 72 words that showed two emotions were mostly a combination of 'anger' and 'disgust', followed by 'sadness' and 'fear', and 'happiness' and 'interest'. The significance of the study is on the development of a most adaptive list of Korean feeling words that can be meticulously combined with other emotion signals such as facial expression in optimizing emotion recognition research, particularly in the Human-Computer Interface (HCI) area. The identification of feeling words that connote more than one emotion is also noteworthy.

지금으로부터 100년 전, 하버드대학교 천문대에서 에드워드 찰스 피커링과 윌리어미나 플레밍, 애니 점프 캐넌 등의 여성 천문학자들이 분광관측 자료를 가지고 헨리 드레이퍼 목록(HD catalog)을 만들기 시작했다. 이는 항성분류의 근간을 마련하고 현대 천문학의 본격적인 시작을 알리는 일이었다. 현재 국립청소년우주센터는 이를 기념하여, 디지털 이미지로 보유중인 1975년에서 1999년에 걸쳐 발간된 "Michigan catalog of HD stars"의 사진건판을 활용한 연구를 진행 중이다. 본 센터를 방문하는 청소년이 100년 전 그들과 한 것과 같은 고전적 항성 분류과정을 체험하며, 별의 스펙트럼을 이해하고 우주를 이해하는데 필수적인 분광학에 대한 이해를 높이길 기대한다. 이를 위한 선행 작업인 대물프리즘 사진건판 이미지에서 별의 스펙트럼을 추출하는 과정을 소개하고자 한다.

현대사회가 점차 복잡하고 다양화되면서 개인 소지품의 양도 많아지고 종류도 다양해지고 있다. 이에 물건의 위치를 잊거나 분실하는 경우가 종종 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 본인이 갖고 있는 소지품을 관리해주는 어플리케이션을 개발하고자 한다. 이것은 안드로이드 플랫폼에서 사용자가 소지한 물품들에 관한 정보를 간단한 조작으로 저장 할 수 있고 사용자가 원하면 소지한 물품들의 정보를 자세히 저장함으로써 소지품들의 목록을 토대로 알람을 발생시킨다. 발생한 알람으로 인해 사용자가 소지품 위치를 알 수 있어 분실하는 상황을 최소화할 수 있다.
