본 연구의 목적은 혼례가구 디자인에 영향을 미친 요인을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 현대 혼례가구 디자인의 특징을 고찰한 결과 혼례가구는 여성을 위한 안방가구이며 세트로 된 장롱과 화장대로 이루어졌고 점차 주거용 가구 전반으로 그 종류가 확대되었음을 알 수 있다. 혼례가구 디자인은 현대 전반기 핵가족으로의 변화와 혼례 및 혼수 규범이 디자인에 미치는 영향이 컸으나 후반기에는 산업화에 의한 경제발전과 상업주의에 의해 양식이 정립되었다. 특히 주택과 생활양식의 변화는 혼례가구 디자인의 기능성 향상을 기하고 유행을 이끌게 됨으로써 미래의 혼례가구 디자인의 변화를 예측할 수 있는 중요한 요인이라고 하겠다. 그러므로 혼례가구 디자인의 기준은 기능성, 경제성, 장식성, 개성 뿐 아니라 상징성과 유행성이 고려되어야 할 것이며 제시된 혼례가구 디자인의 모형은 다차원적인 디자인 문제 해결을 위해 적절히 활용될 수 있음을 제시해 주고 있다.

$\ulcorner$2000년 인구 및 주택 조사$\lrcorner$ 자료에 의하면 전체 가구 중에서 단독주택 가구가 40.38%, 공동 주택 가구가 58.79%를 차지하고 있다. 아파트, 연립주택, 다세대주택 등으로 이루어진 공동주택이 이제 우리의 일상적인 주거양식이 되었다고 할 수 있다. 다시 말해 공동주택 주거양식은 현대적인 생활양식으로 우리의 보편적인 주거형태이며 대도시뿐만 아니라 중소도시의, 심지어 면 소재지에 이르기까지 우리의 주요한 주거 공간이 되었다. 이러한 현대적인 주거 생활은 도시화의 상징이자 도시 생활양식의 확산에 있어서 중요한 기능을 하고 있다. 현대 금속가구디자인은 기술과 재료의 새로운 도입과 구조적 해결, 가치관의 변화, 표현방법의 변화 그리고 정치 사회 구조를 통한 시대정신의 표현을 압축하여 표현하고 있다. 따라서 금속가구디자인 작업에 앞서 금속가구디자인의 시대적 흐름을 이해하고 특성을 파악하는 것이 금속가구디자인의 전문성을 강화하고 개발하기 위한 중요한 요건인 것이다. 본 연구에서는 금속가구디자인의 배경 및 특성을 구분·정리하여, 금속가구 발달에 영향을 미쳤던 제반 환경 및 사회적 요인들과 관계를 이론적 틀로 제시함으로서 각 시대별 금속가구디자인의 특성과 문화의 발달을 이해하고, 파악할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는데 그 의의가 있다. 각 시대별 금속가구의 종류는 다양하나, 여기에서 지칭하는 금속가구는 의자에 한정하여 정리하였다.

The purpose of this study is to identify characteristic of Swedish modern furniture design through design works made by 8 prominent Swedish furniture designers during the 20th century. The study was completed through literature reviews and searching for web-sites of Swedish distinguished furniture companies. 8 furniture designers, eg. Erik Gunnar Asprund, Carl Malmsten, Josef Frank, John Kandell, Mats Theselius, Bruno Mathsson, $\AA$ke Axelsson and Yngve Extr$\ddot{o}$m were selected to identify the characteristics of Swedish modern furniture design. The results are as follows: 1) they pursuit simple and functional design beyond time. 2) they pursuit functionalism modified with Swedish traditional craftsmanship. 3) natural wood is considered as the most beloved material for the furniture together with other natural materials such as hemp, leather and cane. 5) easy maintenance and durability of the furniture are considered as important factors to make it last long. 6) ecological concept is fulfilled to meet environmental legislation.

본 논문은 디지털과 IT로 대변되는 현대의 융복합문화속에서 사회 문화적 요인이 반영된 변화를 요구받는 가구디자인의 특징에 관해 연구하고자 한다. 이를 위한 구체적인 방법으로서 기능주의로 대변된 산업혁명 이후의 디자인과 20세기 이후 다원화된 사회의 모습을 담아냈던 멤피스 그룹의 사례를 보려 하며 이를 토대로 융복합적 가치관이 보편화된 현대사회 속에서 변화를 요구받는 가구디자인의 모습을 조명하려 하였다. 이렇듯 미래의 가구디자인을 예측하는데 있어 사회구성원들의 가치관이 수용된 사회문화적 요인은 반드시 주지해야 할 중요한 요인임을 밝히는데 본 논문의 목적이 있으며 현대가구디자인의 주요 요소가 되었음을 인지하여 이를 바탕으로 폭넓고 깊이 있는 디자인 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

The need of the life be healthy is increasing to the human life prolongation. There are lots of companies using the use of environment-friendly material as the sales strategy today. But a consumer is insufficient of the information about the environment-friendly ingredient. The level of Consciousness for the consumer standard of living and health got higher recently. And the interest about the furniture material comprising the residential space rose. I consider the consumer changing mind the safety of the conservation of the environment and mankind. Also, future of the environment-friendly material can say that is light if develop various the environment-friendly material description and accomplish the Higher Value-added of resource.

본 연구는 국내가구 디자인 산업의 경쟁력 강화를 위한 사례의 하나로 디자인 작품을 시도하게 되었다. 지존의 디자인 모델링은 소프트 모델 또는 목업(mock up)개념에서 시행되어 디자이너가 직접 제작하기 전에는 3차원의 형상을 구현하기가 어려웠으며, 더욱이 문야의 적용은 실크스크린 또는 인쇄와 같은 처리기법으로 사용되었다. 이 방법은 시간, 경비, 공간, 자료의 보관 및 축적, 기타의 많은 문제점과 생산성 향상에 애로사항이 되어왔다. 요지와 같이 많은 문제점과 렌더링의 데이터베이스 뱅크는 활용 가능한 분야와 직종에 따라서 응용 가능하기 때문에 많은 실험적 시도가 요구된다. 디자인의 발상은 우리나라 전통문화의 가구디자인을 접목시킨 사례로서 시도하였으며, 형태와 문양을 현대적 개념에서 재해석하여 대입시켰다. 적용디자인 사례는 2개의 모델에 10가지의 패턴을 복합적으로 활용한 디자인 작품의 결과물이다. 이러한 결과는 다양한 디자인 연출과 시안을 추출할 수 있으며, 디자인 활동과 설계에 능률을 배가시키는 효과를 검증할 수 있겠다.

German furniture design had been downward in trend after Bauhaus closed and through the War. Meanwhile Italy emerged as a center in furniture industry after the Second World War. After the Unification in 1989, however, German furniture still play predominant role in the world since they have their own unique quality and territory. This study explores the significance of German furniture design by three different eras-Post-war recession (1946-1965), Arising times (1966-1989), Contemporary (1990-2005)-and categorized the major characteristics are summarized as in the below. First, function oriented design Second, pursuing perfection of technology Third, simplicity and purity of design.

This study explored roles of the ornament in contemporary furniture that contemporary furniture designers make their furniture different, convey a metaphorical message, and competitive. Contemporary furniture involved in the ornament is decorative, beautiful, and characterized by craftsmanship through eclecticism and pluralism reestablished in furniture design in the postmodern era. Also, the ornament has been presented in the context of the blurring of art/craft distinctions. Thus, the contemporary furniture is called as art furniture/craft furniture which is diverse from minimal decoration to maximal decoration. Hence, by using all of the ornamental context, the furniture designers try to satisfy and communicate with the largest possible number of people, and have numerous opportunities to select according to their characteristics or taste. Finally, their furniture in the futuristic mode may be cross-cultural work that everybody in the earth can understand, enjoy, and appreciate in his/her daily space through his/her everyday use.
