For the geotechnical analysis in the construction and Deign of the coastal structures, one of the most important factors is the existence of waves. The dynamic behavior and deformation of the seabed subjected to wave load must be considered. It is expected that the soil behavior in the seabed subjected to cyclic wave load is much different from that on the ground subjected to dynamic forces such as earthquake. The purposes of this study are as follows ; Firstly, to provide a testing method to generate wave loads in the laboratory and measuring oscillatory pore water pressures in the unsaturated marine silty sand specimen, Secondly, to analyze the mechanism of wave induced pore water pressures and liquefaction potentials under the conditions in the testing. It is shown that the test set-up manufactured especially for the test is good to generate oscillatory wave pressures to the specimen with sine wave type. From the results of this study, it is understood that the pore water pressure due to induced waves is not accumulated as the wave number increases but is periodically varied with wave passage on still water surface. The magnitude of pore water pressures measured tends to be diminished radically with a certain time lag under the action of both high and low waves as depth increases.

In this study, applicability of PMT in domestic area and test procedure were studied. At six test holes of three construction sites in Pusan, PMT using Elastometer-200 type was done. The problems during test were investigated and the test results were analysed. Limit pressure, p$\sub$ι/ could be determined by p- Δv/v method. Using PMT results, marine soil in Pusan could be classified approximately. Net limit pressure value was in the range of 6.4 ∼ 22.5 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in clay, 2.2 ∼ 30.0 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in sand, 13.0 ∼ 58.0 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in weathered soil and 47.0 ∼ 190.0 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in weathered rock. Also, E$\sub$m//p$\sub$ι/ value was in the range of 2.4 ∼ 7.0 in clay, 2.6 ∼ 12.1 in sand, 6.8 ∼ 17.1 in weathered soil and 7.2 ∼ 29.6 in weathered rock.

Analytical solutions for interaction between seabed and waves such as progressive wave or partial standing wave with arbitrary reflection ratio or standing wave have been developed by many researchers including Lee et al.(2014; 2015a; 2015b; 2015c; 2015d) and Yamamoto et al.(1978). They handled the pore-water pressure as oscillating pore-water pressure and residual pore-water pressure separately and discussed the seabed response on each pore-water pressure. However, based on field observations and laboratory experiments, the oscillating and residual pore-water pressures in the seabed do occur not separately but together at the same time. Therefore, the pore-water pressure should be investigated from a total pore-water pressure point of view. Thus, in this paper, the wave-induced seabed response including liquefaction depth was discussed among oscillating, residual, and total pore-water pressures' point of view according to the variation of wave, seabed, and flow conditions. From the results, in the field of flow with the same direction of progressive wave, the following seabed response has been identified; with increase of flow velocity, the dimensionless oscillating pore-water pressure increases, but the dimensionless residual pore-water pressure decreases, and consequently the dimensionless total pore-water pressure and the dimensionless liquefaction depth decrease.

In order to establish the causes and measures for technical risks that occur in various ground conditions when a subsea tunnel is excavated, it is important to configure expected risk scenarios. In addition, when the risk scenarios are classified because the scenario that occurs along all tunnel route and the scenario limited to some area are considered together, a logical framework with systematic and organized responses can be provided for project managements. In this research, project risk scenarios and management elements were configurated, and the project schedule was established for the management techniques to the risk scenario. The risk scenarios expected in a subsea tunnel were classified into a common risk scenario and a special risk scenario, and the concept which can combine with the project management elements was derived.
This study extended the Lee et al.'s (2015a) solution which improved the existing analytical solution for prediction of the residual pore water pressure into progressive wave and flow coexisting field. At this time, the variation of incident wave period and wave length should be incorporated to Lee et al.'s (2015a) analytical solution, which does not consider flow. For the case of infinite thickness, the new analytical solution using Fourier series was compared to the analytical solution using Laplace transformation proposed by Jeng and Seymour (2007). It was verified that the new solution was identical to the Jeng and Seymour's solution. After verification of the new analytical solution, the residual pore water pressure head was examined closely under various given values of flow velocity's magnitude, direction, incident wave's period and seabed thickness. In each proposed analytical solution, asymptotic approach to shallow depth with the changes in the soil thickness within finite soil thickness was found possible, but not to infinite depth. It is also identified that there exists a discrepancy case between the results obtained from the finite and the infinite seabed thicknesses even on the same soil depth.

In this paper, the errors found in the existed analytical solutions described the mechanism of residual pore-water pressure accumulation were examined and a new analytical was proposed. The new analytical solution was derived by using a Fourier series expansion and separation of variables was verified by comparison with the existed both analytical and numerical solutions and experimental result. The new analytical solution is very simple that there is no need for numerical integration for deep soil thickness. In addition, the solutions of the residual pore-water pressure for finite, deep, and shallow soil thickness reveled that it is possible to approach from finite to shallow soil thickness, but not possible to deep soil thickness because there was discontinues zone between finite and deep soil thickness.

We conducted a dynamic analysis of an underwater test collector, which operates on extremely soft soil of deep-seafloor. The underwater test collector consists of nodule pick-up device, vehicle tracks, nodule crusher, loading frame and electric-electronic system. The weight of underwater test collector is about 8600 kg. The average normal pressure, that the underwater test collector supports, is about 6.0 kPa. The dynamic analysis model of underwater test collector is developed using commercial software RecurDyn-LM and Visual Fortran 90. A terramechanics model of extremely soft soil is implemented to the software based on user-written subroutine and applied to the dynamic analysis of the underwater test collector model. The dynamic responses of test collector are studied with respect to track velocities, terrain conditions, and coefficients of added mass and drag.

The construction of subsea tunnel differs from that of inland tunnel because of high water pressure due to sea water level and difficulties to reinforce the ground under construction. Therefore, it is very important to prevent trouble in advance when the subsea tunnel is constructed. In this paper, we established lots of databases about characteristics of geological and mechanical parameters on the construction of subsea tunnel using micro slurry TBM which depth is about 60 m. The correlation analysis is conducted to confirm the effect of thrust, torque and RPM among the excavation database on the net penetration rate. Also, An empirical formula is suggested to predict the net penetration rate through the correlation analysis between FPI (Field Penetration Index) and specific energy from the subsea tunnel excavation database.
