Analysis of the Relationship Between Freight Index and Shipping Company's Stock Price Index (해운선사 주가와 해상 운임지수의 영향관계 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the shipping industry real economy index on the stock prices of domestic shipping companies. The parameters used in this analysis were the stock price of H Company in South Korea and shipping industry real economy indices including BDI, CCFI and HRCI. The period analysis was from 2012 to 2015. The weekly data for four years of the stock price index of shipping companies, BDI, CCFI, and HRCI were used. The effects of CCFI and HRCI on the stock price index of domestic shipping companies were analyzed using the VAR model, and the effects of BDI on the stock price index of domestic shipping companies were analyzed using the VECM model. The VAR model analysis results showed that CCFI and HRCI had negative effects on the stock price index, and the VECM model analysis results showed that BDI also had a negative effect on the stock price index.

  • 2011년 하반기 세계경제는 고유가와 유럽 재정우기 등 상반기 충격요인들의 향배에 의해 결정될 것이다. 3분기에도 4%대의 소비자물가 상승세가 이어지면서 국내경기는 하반기 중 회복의 활력이 세지 않을 전망이다. 원화절상, 일본 대체효과 소멸 등으로 수출활력이 다소 둔화되고 설비투자도 대기수요가 충족되면서 상승세가 꺾일 전망이다. 이에 따라 2011년 하반기 국내경제 성장률은 4.5%, 연간으로는 4.1% 수준을 기록할 것으로 전망된다. 가계부채, 건설사 및 저축은행 부실문제 등이 우리경제의 장기적인 불안요인으로 작용하겠지만 단기간 내 경제에 심각한 충격을 줄 정도는 아닌 것으로 보인다. 하반기 중에도 물가안정 대책에 초점이 두어져야 하며 단계적인 정책금리 인상으로 기대 인플레이션 상승을 억제할 필요가 있다. 하반기의 시작점에서 경제악화 요인들은 어떠한 것들이 있으며, 효과적으로 대처하기 위해서 현재의 상황과 앞으로의 전망을 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 다음은 LG 경제연구소에서 발표한 "2011년 하반기 세계경제 환경 및 국내경제 정책 전망"의 주요 내용을 정리 요약한 것이다.

  • 자율운항선박의 상용화 및 운항을 위한 기술 인증기준, 운항 법적 근거, 보험제도를 마련하고 국제기구의 효과적인 대응전략을 개발하여 자율운항선박 도입의 기반 마련하기 위하여 자율운항선박 국제표준화기술개발 과제가 수행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자율운항선박의 기술이 개발되어 국제해사기구(IMO)의 의제화가 되는 절차와 국제표준화기구(ISO, IEC 등)의 표준개발이 완료되기까지 하나의 협력체계로서 효율적으로 완성이 되기까지의 일련의 과정을 보인다. 특히 수립된 협력체계가 체계적이고 효율적으로 운영 되도록 중장기적 관점에서 전략을 수립하고 개발된 기술이 산업계까지 연결되어 활성화 되도록 하는 플랫폼의 구축과 운영에 관하여 제안하고자 한다.

A Study on the Early Warning Model of Crude Oil Shipping Market Using Signal Approach (신호접근법에 의한 유조선 해운시장 위기 예측 연구)

  • The manufacturing industry is the backbone of the Korean economy. Among them, the petrochemical industry is a strategic growth industry, which makes a profit through reexports based on eminent technology in South Korea which imports all of its crude oil. South Korea imports whole amount of crude oil, which is the raw material for many manufacturing industries, by sea transportation. Therefore, it must respond swiftly to a highly volatile tanker freight market. This study aimed to make an early warning model of crude oil shipping market using a signal approach. The crisis of crude oil shipping market is defined by BDTI. The overall leading index is made of 38 factors from macro economy, financial data, and shipping market data. Only leading correlation factors were chosen to be used for the overall leading index. The overall leading index had the highest correlation coefficient factor of 0.499 two months ago. It showed a significant correlation coefficient five months ago. The QPS value was 0.13, which was found to have high accuracy for crisis prediction. Furthermore, unlike other previous time series forecasting model studies, this study quantitatively approached the time lag between economic crisis and the crisis of the tanker ship market, providing workers and policy makers in the shipping industry with an framework for strategies that could effectively deal with the crisis.

  • Due to various requirements for the user access control to large databases in the hospitals and the banks, database security has been emphasized. There are many security models for database systems using wide variety of policy-based access control methods. However, they are not functionally enough to meet the requirements for the complicated and various types of access control. In this paper, we propose a database security system that can individually control user access to data groups of various sites and is suitable for the situation where the user's access privilege to arbitrary data is changed frequently. Data group(s) in different sixes d is defined by the table name(s), attribute(s) and/or record key(s), and the access privilege is defined by security levels, roles and polices. The proposed system operates in two phases. The first phase is composed of a modified MAC (Mandatory Access Control) model and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) model. A user can access any data that has lower or equal security levels, and that is accessible by the roles to which the user is assigned. All types of access mode are controlled in this phase. In the second phase, a modified DAC(Discretionary Access Control) model is applied to re-control the 'read' mode by filtering out the non-accessible data from the result obtained at the first phase. For this purpose, we also defined the user group s that can be characterized by security levels, roles or any partition of users. The policies represented in the form of Block(s, d, r) were also defined and used to control access to any data or data group(s) that is not permitted in 'read ' mode. With this proposed security system, more complicated 'read' access to various data sizes for individual users can be flexibly controlled, while other access mode can be controlled as usual. An implementation example for a database system that manages specimen and clinical information is presented.

  • IMO(국제해사기구)에서는 자율운항선박의 도입을 위해 현행 국제협약의 적용을 검토 중이며, 많은 회원국들은 Remote Operator(원격운항자)의 명확한 개념 정립의 필요성을 공감하고 있다. 그러므로 국제사회 대응을 위한 우리나라 현황을 반영한 Remote Operator의 개념 정립이 필요하다. 본 연구는 Remote Operator 개념 정립을 위해 앞선 신기술 사례를 분석하고 Remote Operator 개념 정립에 필요한 요소를 식별하고자 한다. 이를 위해 자율주행자동차와 드론 산업의 현황을 분석하고 도입에 따른 우리나라 정책 변화를 살펴보고자 한다.

A Study on the Competitiveness Improvement of Coastal Shipping for Northeast Asia Logistics-Hub (동북아(東北亞) 물류거점화(物流據點化)를 위한 연안해운(沿岸海運) 경쟁력(競爭力) 제고방안(提高方案)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The purpose of this research is to present the improvement measure of lagging behind coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge. For this purpose, this research tries to find out major northeast asia environment factors and accordingly the effects of its. The effects of coastal shipping system's development strategy is analysed by structural equation model and multiple regression model. Research results show that three types of coastal shipping developing strategy(connected transportation system, structure of coastal shipping system, governmental support policy) will contribute much to be logistic hub-nation. The contribution effects is increasing cargo from strengthened feeder transport system and maximizing logistic service &minimizing logistic costs. From the result, some implications are derived as follow. First, familiar environmental balanced ocean-coastal transport system is required. Second the one-stop logistic service system is necessary to build excusive feeder port, and to establish Ro-Ro ship & high-speed ship, etc.. Third, governmental support policy and subsidy(tax exempted oil & various tax benefits) are required to bring up lagging behind coastal shipping system to be a logistic hub-nation with a competitive edge.

Analysis of the Importance of Eco-friendly Ship Dissemination Policy using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (계층분석법(AHP)을 이용한 친환경선박 보급정책의 중요도 분석)

  • The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is tightening environmental regulations in the shipping sector to reduce air pollutants such as greenhouse gases emitted from ships. Meanwhile, the paradigm of the shipbuilding and shipping industries is shifting toward eco-friendly and high-efficiency ships worldwide. The Republic of Korea is also promoting a policy to expand the supply of eco-friendly ships from 2020 to disseminate them. In this article, a survey was conducted with 12 experts on the government's eco-friendly ship supply policy, and the priority of the policy was evaluated using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). As a result of the comprehensive evaluation of the priorities for six priority tasks, "Securing the world's leading technology for future eco-friendly ships" for the development of carbon-free and low carbon ships was the highest. This study, which analyzed the importance of eco-friendly ship policies through AHP analysis, can be used as data to preemptively respond to international marine environmental regulations and to improve policy execution efficiency such as budget allocation and policy development regarding protecting national shipping and shipbuilding industries.
