A Study of Creative Strategy of Luxury and Domestic Fashion Advertisement (해외명품광고(海外名品廣告)와 국내(國內)패션광고(廣告)의 크리에이티브 전략(戰略)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The purpose of this study was to comparatively analyze advertisements of prestigious products and domestic fashion brands through fashion magazines. Especially, a comparative analysis of creative advertising strategies of prestigious products and fashion brands will be vital in establishing advertising strategies and marketing planning of domestic fashion brands. This study targeted and analyzed all the advertisements of prestigious fashion products and domestic career women's high-end casual brands printed in VOGUE KOREA and ELLE KOREA in 2005 and 2006. Descriptive statistics and x2-test were used. As a result of the analysis, prestigious product advertisements accounted for 197 (57.9%), and domestic fashion 143 (42.1%) out of a total of 764. Except for duplicates, the 340 advertisements analyzed, were selected for this study. Luxury fashion brand advertising accounted for more than domestic fashion brands in the magazines studied. That is luxury fashion brands have greater exposure to consumers. Based on the results drawn in this study for fashion products, various and unique advertising strategies utilizing visual factors that most effectively delivered to consumers are imminently needed as creative strategy measures in domestic fashion advertising.

  • Since the first animated Chinese commercial titled directed by Wan Three Brothers in 1926, Chinese animation commercials are steadily increasing every year. The proportion of animation commercials in Advertisement industry increases gradually, animation becomes one of the direct means of rising commodity value. In this premise, this paper researches the history and characteristics of animated commercials, compare and analyze commercial samples from two world advertisement festivals and four Chinese advertisement festivals. Compared the world animation-advertisement market, Chinese animation-advertisement market is relatively limited under its particular status. Under the condition, this paper will analyze the current situation of Chinese animation advertisement through the samples from advertising festivals. Finally, the paper concludes finding out ways of development and effective marketing of animation commercial industry in China by checking out animation advertisement in industrial classification between Chinese and world's advertisement market.

A Study on a DVB-SI based Data Service providing Additional Information of PPL Advertising (PPL광고의 부가정보를 제공하는 DVB-SI 기반 데이터서비스 연구)

  • PPL advertising is growing due to the cheaper cost than other TV commercials, the familiar image construction from natural exposure in video, and the overseas marketing effects from programs export. However, it is difficult to provide additional information on PPL advertising targets in addition to short video exposure due to the restriction that they should be exposed without antagonizing viewers. This study designed a data service that supports PPL advertising, which provides additional information for PPL advertising targets. Specifically, the user scenario and user interface of the data service were designed considering the characteristics of the TV platform, the key additional information was defined by distinguishing the typical types of PPL advertisement, and the information on when PPL advertising targets should be exposed in the program was devised. We also developed a DVB-SI based method to provide the supplementary information to the data service.

Comparing the Application of IMC in Korean Television Advertising across Product Type (IMC 관점에서 국내 TV광고의 내용분석 -제품유형별 차이를 중심으로-)

  • This study examined the degree to which integrated marketing communication(IMC) might be manifested in South Korean television advertising. Using a framework by Nowak and Phelps(1994), this study investigated the degree of IMC utilization by service organizations and physical goods manufacturers at the advertisement level. The Result showed that 44.6% of the television ads were classified as integrated marketing communication according to criteria discussed by Nowak and Phelps(1994). More specifically, approximately 90.7% of the integrated ads achieved this status by using two communication tools of different orientations. In addition, the most common form of IMC at this lowest level consisted of an image-oriented(brand advertising) and a behavior-oriented(direct response) communication tool. The second common form of IMC, that is, 9.3%, used three different communication tools; they consisted of an image-oriented tool(brand advertising) and the two behavior-oriented(i.e., direct response and sales promotion) communication tools. Nothing of the magazine ads used all four tools. Thus, South Korean television ads exhibited higher degrees of IMC which tended to include more behavior-oriented communication tools than image-oriented communication tools. These results indicate that much higher chances for advertisers to expand the level of IMC will be existed. Furthermore, the results suggest that significantly higher as well as a wider variety of communication tools are being used by advertisers, considering the limit of samples investigated in this research.

  • Virtual Advertising, which was introduced exclusively in sports casting programs in 2010, has enlarged its scope to terrestrial TV networks' sports news, entertainment shows, and dramas by 2015. Such advertising deregulation allows broadcasting business operators to insert more various virtual advertising methods into TV programs. Despite recent evaluation that virtual advertising was deregulated to a large degree, it is still inadequate compared to foreign state of affairs and has a lot of room for growth. Therefore, this research explores a literature review of virtual advertising in other countries and considers possible ways for virtual advertising in Korea to move forward. Additionally, through in-depth interview with seven virtual advertising experts, the research unravels positive and negative impacts of virtual advertising as well as its current state of affairs and struggles. This research also analyses the regulation of virtual advertising and finally explores possible revitalization strategies. The results of the research show that it is necessary to first improve the viewers' favorable concerning virtual advertising in order to revitalize virtual advertising. Revitalization will also require a clarification of regulation as well as a more unified and consistent content review and rating system. Furthermore, it is imperative that data of advertising impact will be accessible to advertisers and that advertising regulation will loosen.
