In this study, changes in cavitation pattern and noise by air injection were investigated experimentally in a cavitation tunnel. Air injection system that can control the location and the amount of air was manufactured and installed in an elliptic wing that exhibits similar characteristics to those of a propeller blade. Various types of cavitation were simulated on the hydrofoil by adjusting the test conditions in the cavitation tunnel, and the changes in cavitation pattern and noise according to air injection were experimentally analyzed. It was shown that the noise characteristics varied depending on the position and the amount of air injection. This means that in order to apply the air injection technology to the propeller, it is necessary to optimize the air injection location and the amount of injection according to the cavitation characteristics.
In this paper, the effect of mass injection on the control of tip vortex cavitation was studied experimentally. A mass injection system for a 3D hydrofoil was designed to control the location of injection as well as the injection rate. A series of cavitation tests were carried out in a cavitation tunnel for different injection locations and rates. The cavitation behaviour was observed using a high-speed camera and the corresponding noise was measured using a hydrophone installed in the observation window. The results showed that the tip vortex cavitation was suppressed under certain conditions and the noise was reduced in some frequency bands. It was also found that there is a location where the effect of mass injection could be maximized and hence the noise reduction.
Carbon dioxide ocean disposal is one of the promising options to reduce carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere. So, in the present study, calculations of the solubility, the surface concentration and the dissolution behavior of carbon dioxide when liquid carbon dioxide is released at 1,000m and 1,500m in depth are performed. The results show that liquid carbon dioxide changes to carbon dioxide bubbles around 500m in depth, and the hydrate acts as a resistant layer for the dissolution of liquid carbon dioxide. Also. the injection of liquid carbon dioxide from a moving ship is more effective than that from a fixed pipeline.

In this paper, noise characteristics of bubbles created by an orifice-type bubble generator are studied. In order to understand the overall bubble noise characteristics, the bubble noise spectra proposed by Strasberg and Blake, respectively, are examined, and an air injection experiment was performed in the large cavitation tunnel of KRISO to measure the bubble noise. The experiments were performed under a quiescent condition and flow conditions using 5 types of air bubble generator. From the measurement results, the characteristics of the bubble noise spectrum according to the experimental conditions are observed, and the effect of each parameter on bubble noise is analyzed by regression analysis. Finally, empirical models based on the regression analysis for bubble noise are presented, and it is confirmed that the estimated bubble noise is in good agreement with the measured results.

The oceans could absorb almost all the anthropogenic carbon dioxide the mankind has been producing eventually, but in the nature the air-sea $CO_2$ exchange occurs very slowly and to lower the atmospheric $CO_2$ concentration substantially $CO_2$ must be injected to the interior of the ocean directly. If we inject $CO_2$ collected at the major $CO_2$ sources into the international waters in the Philippine Sea or east of Japan, we could store the $CO_2$ in the oceans effectively for a few hundred years. When $CO_2$ is dissolved into the water, PH drops. The creatures adapted to the deep oceans where environment is very stable could be affected by even a small change in pH significantly. If, therefore, we are to inject $CO_2$ into the oceans, we must assess the effect of $CO_2$ injection in the marine ecosystem beforehand. Only when the damage to the marine ecosystem is smaller than the benefit from the $CO_2$ injection, $CO_2$ injection is effective.

The flow around a foil with water jet was investigated using the two-frame PIV(CACTUS 3.1) system. After separation, unsteady recirculation & reattachment region was shown a result at reading edge. Separation area was decreased to 1/3 more by waterjet system with coanda effect. Angle of attack and water jet velocity was a variable in the experiment. Each parameters was controlled to $0^{\circ}\sim35^{\circ}$ and $0[m/s]\sim9.2[m/s]$. The separation of flow appearanced at first when the angle of attack is $17^{\circ}\sim18^{\circ}$, However, according to grew up of velocity, beginning of the separation was delayed. In this experiment, vortex and separation region was disappeared by blown when each parameters are low level, and separation controlled more certainly.
