Analysis of Indirect Lightning Impact on Aircraft Shielded Cable Structure in accordance with RTCA DO-160G Sec. 22 (항공기용 차폐 케이블의 구조에 따른 RTCA DO-160G Sec. 22 간접낙뢰 영향성 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze the influence of indirect lightning strikes based on the structure of shielded cables used in an aircraft and propose a cable structure to enhance shielding effectiveness. Cables in an aircraft account for the largest proportion among components and play a crucial role in connecting aircraft frames and electronic devices; thus, making them highly influential. In particular, indirect lightning strike noise can lead to malfunctions and cause damage in aircraft electronic equipment, making the utilization of shielded cables essential for mitigating damage caused by indirect lightning strike noise. We conducted an analysis of the impact of indirect lightning strikes on aircraft shielded cables considering factors, such as the presence of shielding layers, core, and insulation in the cable structure. Furthermore, we validated our findings through simulations and experiments by applying the internationally recognized standard for indirect lightning, RTCA DO-160G Sec. 22.

  • 항공 전자 시스템은 다양하고 중요한 임무를 수행하는 다양한 전자 장치들로 이루어지며 전자 장치들은 점차 통합 구조 시스템(IMA, Integrated Modular Avionics)으로 구성되고 있다. 이러한 통합 구조 시스템은 전자 장치의 다양한 종류와 육중한 중량을 이유로 단일 컴퓨터 환경에서 구성된다. 이러한 이유로 항공 전자 시스템에서 사용되는 응용프로그램들 또한 단일 컴퓨터에서 효율적으로 통합될 수 있어야 한다. 응용프로그램들은 각기 다른 기관에서 개발되는 경우가 많으며 그중 일부는 다른 항공 전자 시스템에 재사용 될 수 있다. 이와 같은 통합구조에서 갖는 응용프로그램들의 특성을 고려하여 시 공간적으로 분리된 파티션으로 구분하는 ARINC 653과 같은 표준이 등장 하였다. 가상화 기술은 여러 개의 가상머신을 제공하고 다양한 장치에 대하여 에뮬레이션 함으로써 하나의 가상 머신은 ARINC 653의 파티션 개념을 적용하는데 충분한 잠재력을 가지고 있다. ARINC 653을 많은 타겟 운영체제나 반 가상화 환경에서 적용된 예는 많다. 하지만 아직까지 전 가상화 환경에서 ARINC 653을 적용한 예는 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 두 종류의 전 가상화 환경(VMware, VirtualBox)에서 ARINC 653을 적용하기 위한 구조를 제시하고 구현한다.

  • The objective of this thesis is to research the software requirement management system for the development of operational flight program (OFP) which is embedded in aircraft avionics. It offers the function to record the requirement revision log. In fact, the COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) program which has similar function already exists in the market. But this kind of software programs are too complicated and relatively expensive in acquisition. Furthermore, they require too expensive maintenance cost, medium sized business company, this thesis intended to provide the software requirement management system that can be simply installed and easily used.

  • 항공 기술의 발달로 인해 항공기는 우리 일상에 가깝게 느껴지며, 다양한 기능을 가진 최첨단의 전자장비 등이 갖추어지게 되었다. 이러한 전자 장비의 내부 혹은 외부의 전파에 의한 전자파 간섭 현상을 일으키게 되며 심각한 경우 항공기기의 오동작을 유도한다. 따라서 항공기의 안전 운항에 필수적인 탑재 전자 장비의 전파 방해 방지를 위하여 항공기 탑재 전자기기의 전자파 장해 및 내성에 관한 국제 기술 규격의 동양 분석 및 불요 전자파 발생 인자의 파악과 대책이 필요하며 또한 전자파 장해 기준과 측정 방법의 표준화가 요구되는 현 시점에서, 본문에서는 항공기에 탑재되는 전자기기의 EMI/C 기술 동향에 대해서 언급하고자 한다.

  • The Korea market for LUAV (Light Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) weighing less than 150 kg is growing rapidly. As a result, the market for manufacturing and operating LUAV is expanding, and domestic development of parts and finished products is actively taking place. However, the flight control system and onboard software, which are key components of domestic LUAV, are largely dependent on overseas products due to the excessive cost and period required for development. This paper presented a domestic software development and certification procedure using DO-178C, a guideline for aircraft software development, and the Model-based Development method, and conducted a survey of those involved in the development, manufacturing, and certification of LUAV and analyzed the results. In addition, a case study was conducted to apply the software development plan to the helicopter FCC (Flight Control Computer).

  • The importance and cost of avionics system in the integration of an aircraft is continuously increasing. And we can expect enlarged software portion in the system integration for the more intelligent, reliable, and automated avionics system. Both military and commercial avionics community have moved toward commercial-off-the-shelf(COTS) equipment and open systems architecture not only to increase affordability but also to reduce acquisition cost, shorten development time and risk. The same concept is applied in developing avionics test system used for the avionics system integration test. In this paper, we present important topics in the development of avionics system including real-time operating system, interconnect data bus, software development methodology, software development process, and system integration test.

Development of Message Oriented Middleware for Operational Flight Program in Avionics (항공전자 비행운영프로그램을 위한 메시지 기반 미들웨어 개발)

  • It is require to design the next generation avionics system while considering applicability under open architecture where standerd communication module is used. In this situation, if the existing schemes cannot guarantee new requirement, new system development is demanded. In this paper, we present design, implementation, and testing procedure for message based middleware to support operational flight program on avionics. System architecture include mission computer (MC) and large area display (LAD) over standard socket communication based on reliable Ethernet. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed middleware can guarantee real-time with 20msec as well as reliability requirements with no lost packet.

  • The major elements of avionics system architecture are requirements, Real Time Operating System, message communication, memory, and data format etc. Herein describes a state-of-the-art development trend for the avionics system architecture, system requirements and data bus among the major elements of avionics system. While, domestic technology has been tried to Integrated Modular Avionics(IMA) system based on the Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet(AFDX) technology during Light Attack Helicopter(LAH) project in Korea, but not yet proved as the product case in Full Scale Development Phase. The avionics system architecture considering the domestic inexperience of the IMA system architecture are suggested for the Next-generation Corps Unmanned Aircraft System.

  • Inactive region means a region filled with invalid pixel values to represent a specific image. Generally, inactive regions are occurred when the non-rectangular formatted images are converted to the rectangular shaped image, especially when 3D images are represented in 2D format. Because these inactive regions highly degrade the compression efficiency, filtering approaches are often applied to the boundaries between active and inactive regions. However, the image characteristics are not carefully considered during filtering. In the proposed method, inactive regions are padded through reinforcement learning that can consider the compression process and the image characteristics. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs an average of 3.4% better than the conventional padding method.

  • In this paper, we propose a new deep network architecture using nearest neighbor kernel for the estimation of dense depth map from its sparse map and corresponding color information. First, we propose to decompose the depth map signal into the structure and details for easier prediction. We then propose two separate subnetworks for prediction of both structure and details using classification and regression approaches, respectively. Moreover, the nearest neighboring kernel method has been newly proposed for accurate prediction of structure signal. As a result, the proposed method showed better results than other methods quantitatively and qualitatively.
