Target Tracking Performance Verification of Surveillance Data Processing System for Air Traffic Control (항공관제용 감시자료처리시스템 항적 추적 성능 검증)

  • As a sub-system of an air traffic control system, SDP(Surveillance Data Processor) provides with the system tracks of aircraft using the surveillance sensor data from various air traffic surveillance sensors, such as radars. Therefore, the high accuracy of tracking results is a crucial requirement for safe flights, and verification of the required system performance of SDP is an essential step in development. Moreover, the quantitative evaluation of target tracking accuracy is important for newly developed SDP, since there are several tracking methods for Multi-Sensor Multi-Target Tracking, such as MRT(Multi Radar Tracking), inevitably required as the main function of SDP. In this study, definition of required system performances, establishment of test environment, and test results for MRT performance evaluation of SDP, which is being developed in KARI(Korea Airspace Research Institute) are presented.

  • 매년 높은 비율의 전기안전사고가 발생하지만 예방교육은 단순한 영상홍보나 단순 텍스트를 이용한 교육 수준에서 주입식으로 이루어지고 있다. 항공, 군사, 전력산업 등 다양한 분야에서는 가상현실을 이용한 체험형 교육 시스템이 개발되어 운영되지만 전기안전 예방교육은 감전사고와 같은 특수한 상황의 체험과 사고를 유발시킬 수 있다는 측면에서 체험형 교육시스템이 개발 및 적용이 어렵다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 전기감전 체험교육 시스템에 저주파 자극 장치를 사용할 수 있도록 저주파 간섭형 자극기를 이용한 인체 자극의 임계값 산출시험을 실시하고 대표적으로 성별, 연령별(아동 및 성인 구분)로 구분하여 적절한 자극값을 산출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 전기안전사고 예방을 위한 체험형 예방 교육 시스템에 활용이 가능할 것이다.

  • As flying vehicle's speed is getting faster, the magnitude of aerodynamic heating is getting bigger. High-speed vehicle's exterior skin is heated to hundreds of degrees, and electrical equipments inside the vehicle are heated, simultaneously. Since allowable temperature of electrical equipments is low, they are vulnerable to effect of aerodynamic heating. These days, lots of techniques are applied to estimate temperature of electrical equipments in flight condition, and to make them thermally safe from heating during flight. In this paper, new model building technique for thermal safety analysis is introduced. To understand internal thermal transient characteristic of electrical equipment, simple heating experiment was held. From the result of experiment, we used our new building technique to build thermal analysis model which reflects thermal transient characteristic of original equipment. This model can provide internal temperature differences of electrical equipment and temperature change of specific unit which is thermally most vulnerable part in the equipment. So, engineers are provided much more detailed thermal analysis data for thermal safety of electrical equipment through this technique.

  • Several decades have passed since tiltrotor technology became a hot issue of debates between aircraft majors, policy maker and mass-media. Although most of those subjects have been officially probed or answered in objective way, biased articles or argues related with the adequacy of this technology still prevail in the way of tilt-rotor development programs, which are totally irrelevant and out-dated. This paper aims to help understanding on those issues in technically balanced manner and the cases of flight test mishaps.

  • Recently, autopilot is essential to reduce pilot's workload and increase flight safety. Avionics system of the small aircraft also has progressively adopted centralized multi-processor and multi-process computing architectures similar to the integrated modular avionics of B-777. It is increased more and more that importance of the flight control system. In this paper, the performance of the autopilot for the small aircraft has been verified with Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS). Also, the autopilot algorithm that is operated in the Flight Control Computer(FCC) for the Fly by Wire(FBW) was verified with PILS and compared with the HILS results for the several commercial autopilots.

  • Certification by Civil Aviation Law is necessary for aircraft parts and appliances as well as aircraft, engines, and propellers to ensure safety and reliability in operation. Advanced countries in aerospace industry as like U.S.A require Parts Manufacturer Approval for aircraft parts and Technical Standard Order Authorization for designated appliances. However, there are no legal requirements for certification of aircraft parts and appliances in Korea until now. This study presents the draft to revise Civil Aviation Law, which is applicable to set up domestic certification system and maintain it equivalent to U.S. Federal Aviation Regulation.

  • 빅데이터·인공지능 등 4차 산업혁명 기술은 교통·의료·환경 등 다양한 분야에서 기술개발을 추진하고 이미 많은 기술이 실제 활용되고 있다. 특히, 철도관제와 항공 관제분야에서도 인공지능 기반 시스템이 접목되어 운영되고 있으나 선박교통관제 분야는 현장에 접목되어 활용되는 기술은 극히 드물다. 선박교통관제사가 관제구역 내에서 적게는 수척, 많게는 수십척의 선박을 동시에 관제하며 발생할 수 있는 인적 과실을 줄이기 위한 인프라 구축은 선박의 안전확보를 위해 필수요소이다. 본 연구는 해양경찰청 선박교통관제기술개발단에서 자체 개발한 음주운항 자동탐지 시스템과 닻 끌림 자동탐지 시스템에 활용한 기술을 소개하고 향후 고도화 및 활용방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 최근 현대사회는 자동차, 철도 및 항공 등 대형 복합 시스템의 체계 속에서 지내고 있으며, 고장 및 사고로 인한 시스템의 안전 설계에 대한 고려와 안전에 대한 인식이 증가하고 있다. 따라서 기존의 시스템공학 프로세스에서 다루는 시스템 설계에 대한 단계별 안전 활동의 강화의 필요성 역시 강조되고 있다. 그 중에서도 시스템 설계의 최종 활동에 해당하는 검증 단계 활동이 제대로 수행되어야만 초기에 의도한 시스템 설계의 안전도 향상을 바라볼 수 있을 것이다. 본 논문에서는 안전 활동을 고려한 시스템공학 프로세스의 검증 단계의 개선사항 도출과 모델링을 통해 안전중시 시스템인 철도 차량 운전실 시스템을 대상으로 적용 및 조정 구축에 대한 내용을 기술하고 있다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 향후 품질 향상 및 비용 절감과 데이터의 관리 및 추적기능을 개선함으로써 안전사고 발생 가능성을 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • RTCA DO-178C is a development guideline to ensure aircraft system airworthiness. However, there is an opinion that the application of DO-178C to the development of UAV of more than MTOW 150 kg is over regulated because the severity of the risk from UAV is lower than that of normal aircraft. To address issue, EASA and FAA have been working on the Re-Engineering and Streamlining the Standards for Avionics Certification(RESSAC) project since 2016 with the goal of establishing a new certification scheme that simplifies existing aircraft certification procedures and standards. This paper analyzes the current DO-178C certification process and presents advantages by comparing and analyzing the new RESSAC certification process, which simplifies processes and outputs in comparing with the DO-178C certification process, while it ensures flight safety of the vehicle.
