In present research, the plywoods made of radiata pine or Japanese larch, the potential softwood species in mass supply, were discussed to examine their feasibility as the structural and concrete form panels through the basic properties test. First, plywood qualities and its nail performance were tested. The performance test for concrete form or structural panel by concentrated and uniformly distributed load were conducted to investigate the possibility as structural material for light frame and concrete constructions. Test results of basic quality such as specific gravity, cupping, bowing, and twisting appeared to satisfy the criteria for structural use. Also, nail performance test results, for roof and wall sheathing panels, nail lateral resistance, nail withdrawal resistance, and nail push head resistance proved to meet the required standard for structural use. The test results on performance as structural panel by concentrated and uniformly distributed load and as concrete form panel showed that these two species could be used for structural sheathing, subfloor, and concrete form panels.

The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the physical/chemical properties of concrete surface according to types of formworks. Plywood formwork and coated plywood formwork were prepared. In addition, plywood formwork with sand paper was prepared to simulate deterioration of concrete or rough surface of concrete. Normal concrete was used in this study. The properties of concrete surface were investigated by visual inspection, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy techniques, elemental mapping, 2D and 3D surface profile measurement, and zeta potential measurement. Test results showed that concrete in a coated formwork had smooth surface and concrete in the formwork with sand paper had rough surface. It was observed that properties of concrete surface depended on types of formworks. Furthermore, differences in surface roughness were significantly higher than those in chemical compositions and zeta potential.
This research examines the characteristics of the "rammed earth form" based on the criteria for the selection of forms. For this purpose, the paper first reviews the characteristics and orientation of the earth-construction and looks into the outline, the prerequisite, the current status and the tendency of the rammed earth form system through previous studies. Consequently, we aims to contribute to the criteria for the selection of rammed earth forms in the future through a comparative analysis of the construction cost, quality, safety and easiness of works between the veneer board form and the euroform, which are most widely used at earth housing project in the domestic country. The results reveals that the euroform is better than the veneer board with 21% of total cost in the cost analysis. But this better than that in the side of easiness of construction. In both cases, the buckling of wall panel form and the labor-oriented characteristics of the methods are the future research issues in the rammed earth form system.

We occasionally find a thin layer of imperfectly hardened concrete surface when the wood form is stripped off. It has been generally believed that the principal causes were the effects of reactive form oil, adhesive agent or formalin which has been used in the course of plywood manufacturing. However, in this experiment, it became clear that the concrete surface could be influenced more harmfully by a certain species of wood form and the storage conditions of wood form rather than any other causes. Especially, the main cause of the severely dusty layer is the use of wood form exposed to sun for a long period. Countermeasures, therefore, for preventing concrete surface from dusting are also discussed in this paper.
The plywood for concrete form is regarded as a laminate plate composed of orthotropic materials and the flexural analysis is conducted by applying the laminate plate theory, in which the four edges of the plate is assumed to be simply supported and the concentric point lateral load is applied. The results of flexural experiment are compared with the theoretical ones. Theoretically predicted results coincide with experimental ones up to the point of deflection less than 1/4 of plate thickness. In addition, when the plywood is regarded as an isotropic plate for simple analysis, the geometric average of the elastic modulus measured in the direction parallel to the face grain (E11) and perpendicular to the face grain (E22) could be used for the elastic modulus of isotropic plate.

This paper presents an experimental study on the air contents and the chloride penetration in offshore concrete depending on the types of forms. Three types of concretes(plain, MSF, and FA concretes) with four kinds of forms(wood, coating wood, steel, and polypropylene film) were investigated. The test results show that the air contents in the concrete cured with steel and polypropylene forms were higher than those with wood and coating wood forms. The concrete with wood forms has the least air content. The variation of chloride ingress time was large depending on the types of forms on the same concrete, i.e. 13.2, 20.3, and 17.7% for Plain, MSF, and FA concretes, respectively. Consequently, the surface conditions of forms should be considered for design of durable concrete.

Method or work type improvement is needed in relation to reducing cost and increasing efficiency by ensuring construction quality and reducing labor in the form work process. This would have a great influence on the entire construction process, and make the process of adopting materials and methods more rational and economic. Hence, this study aimed to develop a Synthetic Resins Euroform that could improve durability, water-proofing, sophistication, and organizational unity through the use of injection modeling. Accordingly, this paper first investigated various performance requirements and necessary techniques, and then verified feasibility by evaluating the physical safety and technical validity when it is applied to construction field. In addition, this study evaluated the constructability, safety performance, environmental performance, and systemic excellence in terms of maintaining convenience of Synthetic Resins Euroform. Moreover, to verify feasibility in the construction field, this study analyzed and evaluated the maximum stress by measuring the load and deformation of the space of the horizontal furring, which is attached to Euroform as an armature.

This study investigated the effect of the fundamental condition such as release agent, form conditions and types to the surface of concrete with aluminum form on the various temperatures. On the observation with the naked eyes, coated plywood and aluminum form without a scratch showed similar result, and the surface quality of the concrete with aluminum form was gradually decreased corresponding to the increase of the temperature. For the surface roughness, there is no remarkable tendency according to the temperature. However, the difference in accordance with release agent occurred. As void on the surface corresponding to the various temperature, the micro voids ranged $0.1{\sim}1mm$ were increased corresponding to the increasing temperature, so it was confirmed that the chemical reaction wae accelerated. And the voids of the other range also increased. the fundamental condition such as release agent, form conditions and types

With the amendment to the Building Act in November of 2005 that offered incentives in terms of floor area ratio and number of stories to apartment buildings adopting the Rahmen structure to facilitate remodeling, the construction industry is paying more attention to PC structures. As connections between PC columns and beams require complex design, it is very difficult to install and remove forms. Since forms made of plywood for such connections are fabricated and installed on site, a significant amount of labor is required, and constructability is low. Furthermore, after concrete casting, the forms are removed in a state in which they cannot be recycled, which leads to a significant amount of construction waste. For this reason, a solution to address such issues needs to be studied. However, many researchers have focused only on the structural performance of PC structures in Korea and elsewhere, ignoring the need for research on the forms used in building PC structure connections. Therefore, this research aims to develop a form that can improve the productivity of PC structure connection construction, and compare it with conventional forms to highlight its contribution to gains in productivity and economic viability.
