In a $2\times2$ table showing binary agreement between two raters, it is known that Cohen's $\kappa$, a chance-corrected measure of agreement, has two paradoxes. $\kappa$ is substantially sensitive to raters' classification probabilities(marginal probabilities) and does not satisfy conditions as a chance-corrected measure of agreement. However, $\kappa$ and other established measures have a reasonable and similar value when each marginal distribution is close to 0.5. The objectives of this paper are to present a new measure of agreement, H, which resolves paradoxes of $\kappa$ by adjusting unbalanced marginal distributions and to compare the proposed measure with established measures through some examples.

The presnt study investigated the effect of stimulus-response compatibility (S-R compatibility) on Hangul transcription typing. In this experiment, two condition were manipulated, the first was a low S-R compatibility condition in which consonants were typed with left hand and vowels with right hand; the second was a high S-R compatibility condition in which hands for consonants and vowels were reversed. Subjects were requested to type the letter presented on the screen as accurately and immediately as possible. It was found that the compatibility interacted with the vowel shape. That is, in the high S-R compatibility condition, the response time was shorter when letters of vertically- shaped vowel were typed than when those of horizontally-shaped vowel were typed. In the low S-R compatibility codition, however, the response time was shorter for letters of horizontally-shaped vowel than for those of vertically-shaped vowel.

본 논문에서는 정보처리에 관한 일반 모형으로 제기된 안-밖 합치도원리 모형(김정호, 1986; Kim, 1986b, 1991)을 통해서 컴퓨터 용어의 효율적인 한글화를 위한 하나의 접근방법을 제시하였다. 안-밖 합치도는 인간의 정보처리 전반에 걸쳐서 인간이 주어진 환경에서 특정 정보를 구성함에 있어서 갖는 정보처리의 좋음 혹은 쉬움을 나타내는 개념이다. 여기서 중요한 것은 안-밖 합치도가 구성할 특정 정보에 상대적이라는 점이며 안-밖 합치도를 측정할 때에는 어떤 정보에 관심이 있는가의 목적을 명백히 해야 한다. 컴퓨터 용어의 효율적 한글화는 안-밖 합치도원리 모형의 관점에서 볼 때, 특정 목적을 위하여, 만들어진 한글 컴퓨터 용어와 그 용어의 사용자 간의 안-밖 합치도를 높이고자 하는 작업이라고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 용어의 한글화에 있어서 고려될 수 있는 목적들을 크게 경제적 목적, 문화적 목적, 및 심미적 목적 등으로 나누어 고찰하였다. 끝으로 각 목적에 따른 실제적인 연구방법을 소개하였다.

지적구조의 시각적인 표현을 위해서 오랫동안 다차원척도법이 사용되어 왔으나, 최근에는 패스파인더 네트워크와 같이 네트워크의 형태로 표현하는 방법이 확산되고 있다. 다차원척도법에 대해서는 생성된 2차원 지도의 품질을 평가하기 위한 합치도 지표로 STRESS나 RSQ를 비롯한 여러 종류가 사용되고 있는 반면, 네트워크 표현에 대해서는 마땅한 합치도 지표가 아직까지 제안되지 않았다. 이 글에서는 개체 간의 연관성을 네트워크로 표현할 경우에, 생성된 네트워크 구조를 평가하기 위한 합치도 지표로 NetRSQ를 제안하였다.

본 연구에서는 한글 타자 행동에서 자극-반응 합치도 효과가 나타나는 지를 알아보았다. 타자에 생소한 남녀 피험자 40명을 자극-반응 합치도가 높은 조건과 낮은 조건의 자판으로 20명씩 나누어 배치하였고 반응 시간을 측정하였다. 한글 타자 행동에서 자극-반응 합치도 효과는 세로 모음이 있는 철자에서 반응 개시 시간에 나타났다. 이는 한글 전사 타자 행동에서 글자 자극부호를 운동 부호로 전환하는 단계에서 자극-반응 합치도 효과가 영향을 미치고 있음을 나타내는 것이다.

A measure of agreement H in$2{\times}2$ contingency table was proposed by Park and Park (2007) to resolve the two paradoxes of k. In this study, we generalize H to where the number of categories is greater than two and derive its asymptotic large-sample variance. We also explain the relationships between k's paradoxes and marginal distributions. Using some examples of $3{\times}3$ contingency tables, the behaviors of H and other measures of agreement are compared.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of the parent-adolescent career congruence process in the association between the parent-adolescent relationship and career identity of South Korean college students. In particular, we investigated which kind of career congruence process mediates the positive effect of the interdependent parent-adolescent relationship (in support of emotional bond and filial piety) and the independent parent-adolescent relationship (in support of independence and autonomy) on career identity. Data of 509 college students were analyzed for this study, and parallel multiple mediation analysis was performed. As a result, the complementary and attunement congruence process fully mediated the relationship between parent-adolescent affective bonding and career identity. Authoritative filial piety had a negative direct effect on career identity, but a positive indirect effect by mediating the complementary and attunement congruence process. The mediation analysis showed that both complementary and attunement congruence process fully mediated the association between independent parent-adolescent relationship and career identity. However, family intrusion had only a negative direct effect on career identity. On the other hand, the supplementary congruence process did not have significant mediating effects between all types of parent-adolescent relationships and career identity. Also, the supplementary congruence process had a negative direct effect on career identity. Based on these results, we discussed culturally universal and culturally specific characteristics of the relationship between parent-adolescent relationships and career identity, along with the limitations and recommendations for future research.

Many statistics, such as Cohen's (1960) ${\kappa}$, Scott's (1955) ${\pi}$, and Park and Park's (2007) H have been proposed as measures of agreement to represent inter-rater reliability. This study compared bias, SE, MSE, and CV of the measures of agreement with nominal and ordinal categories in the balanced marginal distributions, and those with nominal categories in the two paradoxical situations. As a result, in all cases, AC1and Hhad smaller SE and CV.

For ordinal categorical $R{\times}R$ tables, a weighted measure of association, $H_{\omega}$, was proposed and its maximum likelihood estimator and asymptotic variance were drived. We redefined the last paradox of ${\kappa}$ and proved its relation to marginal distributions. We also introduced the new paradox of ${\kappa}$ and summaried the general relationships between ${\kappa}$ and marginal distributions.

Though most researchers studying humor in recent years agree that 'incongruity' is essential factor of humor elicitation, they have different views in the course of schema activation in processing humor text. One of the different views on schema activation in processing humor text is wether schemata are activated concurrently or selectively. While concurrent activation view suggests that different schemata are concurrently activated because we perceive them at the same time, selective activation view suggests that different schemata are selectively activated because we use selective attention for their perception. This study was conducted to verify these two different views. We clarified that different schemata were activated in processing of humor text, and we examined whether Vaid's experiment failed or not. Experiment was designed mixed 2 (schema1, schema2) ${\times}$ 3 (setup, incongruity, resolution) ${\times}$ (humor, control) factorial design and latin square counterbalancing. As a result of experiment, we got data that different schemata were activated in the course of 'Incongruity' at the same time. Most of all, the activated schemata were kept activation in the course of 'Resolution'. This result suggest that different schemata were activated concurrently.
