Box-office prediction is important to movie stakeholders. It is necessary to accurately predict box-office and select important variables. In this paper, we propose a multivariate time series classification and important variable selection method to improve accuracy of predicting the box-office. As a research method, we collected daily data from KOBIS and NAVER for South Korean movies, selected important variables using Random Forest and predicted multivariate time series using Deep Learning. Based on the Korean screen quota system, Deep Learning was used to compare the accuracy of box-office predictions on the 73rd day from movie release with the important variables and entire variables, and the results was tested whether they are statistically significant. As a Deep Learning model, Multi-Layer Perceptron, Fully Convolutional Neural Networks, and Residual Network were used. Among the Deep Learning models, the model using important variables and Residual Network had the highest prediction accuracy at 93%.

CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) is widely used to recognize various images. In this presentation, a single digit handwritten by humans was recognized by applying the CNN technique of deep learning. The deep learning network consists of a convolutional layer, a pooling layer, and a platen layer, and finally, we set an optimization method, learning rate and loss functions.
Identification of the mandibular canal path in Computed Tomography (CT) scans is important in dental implantology. Typically, prior to the implant planning, dentists find a sagittal plane where the mandibular canal path is maximally observed, to manually identify the mandibular canal. However, this is time-consuming and requires extensive experience. In this paper, we propose a deep-learning-based framework to detect the desired sagittal plane automatically. This is accomplished by utilizing two main techniques: 1) a modified version of the iterative transformation network (ITN) method for obtaining initial planes, and 2) a fine searching method based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) classifier for detecting the desirable sagittal plane. This combination of techniques facilitates accurate plane detection, which is a limitation of the stand-alone ITN method. We have tested on a number of CT datasets to demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve more satisfactory results compared to the ITN method. This allows dentists to identify the mandibular canal path efficiently, providing a foundation for future research into more efficient, automatic mandibular canal detection methods.
This study applied deep convolution neural network based on U-Net and SegNet using long period weather radar data to very short-term rainfall prediction. And the results were compared and evaluated with the translation model. For training and validation of deep neural network, Mt. Gwanak and Mt. Gwangdeoksan radar data were collected from 2010 to 2016 and converted to a gray-scale image file in an HDF5 format with a 1km spatial resolution. The deep neural network model was trained to predict precipitation after 10 minutes by using the four consecutive radar image data, and the recursive method of repeating forecasts was applied to carry out lead time 60 minutes with the pretrained deep neural network model. To evaluate the performance of deep neural network prediction model, 24 rain cases in 2017 were forecast for rainfall up to 60 minutes in advance. As a result of evaluating the predicted performance by calculating the mean absolute error (MAE) and critical success index (CSI) at the threshold of 0.1, 1, and 5 mm/hr, the deep neural network model showed better performance in the case of rainfall threshold of 0.1, 1 mm/hr in terms of MAE, and showed better performance than the translation model for lead time 50 minutes in terms of CSI. In particular, although the deep neural network prediction model performed generally better than the translation model for weak rainfall of 5 mm/hr or less, the deep neural network prediction model had limitations in predicting distinct precipitation characteristics of high intensity as a result of the evaluation of threshold of 5 mm/hr. The longer lead time, the spatial smoothness increase with lead time thereby reducing the accuracy of rainfall prediction The translation model turned out to be superior in predicting the exceedance of higher intensity thresholds (> 5 mm/hr) because it preserves distinct precipitation characteristics, but the rainfall position tends to shift incorrectly. This study are expected to be helpful for the improvement of radar rainfall prediction model using deep neural networks in the future. In addition, the massive weather radar data established in this study will be provided through open repositories for future use in subsequent studies.

Among the data used for the diagnosis of calf disease, feces play an important role in disease diagnosis. In the image of calf feces, the health status can be known by the shape, color, and texture. For the fecal image that can identify the health status, data of 207 normal calves and 158 calves with diarrhea were pre-processed according to fecal status and used. In this paper, images of fecal variables are detected among the collected calf data and images are trained by applying GLCM-CNN, which combines the properties of CNN and GLCM, on a dataset containing disease symptoms using convolutional network technology. There was a significant difference between CNN's 89.9% accuracy and GLCM-CNN, which showed 91.7% accuracy, and GLCM-CNN showed a high accuracy of 1.8%.

As the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly changes healthcare around the globe, the need for smart healthcare that allows for remote diagnosis is increasing. The current classification of respiratory diseases cost high and requires a face-to-face visit with a skilled medical professional, thus the pandemic significantly hinders monitoring and early diagnosis. Therefore, the ability to accurately classify and diagnose respiratory sound using deep learning-based AI models is essential to modern medicine as a remote alternative to the current stethoscope. In this study, we propose a deep learning-based respiratory sound classification model using data collected from medical experts. The sound data were preprocessed with BandPassFilter, and the relevant respiratory audio features were extracted with Log-Mel Spectrogram and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC). Subsequently, a Parallel CNN network model was trained on these two inputs using stacking ensemble techniques combined with various machine learning classifiers to efficiently classify and detect abnormal respiratory sounds with high accuracy. The model proposed in this paper classified abnormal respiratory sounds with an accuracy of 96.9%, which is approximately 6.1% higher than the classification accuracy of baseline model.
As advances in information and communication technology have made it easier for anyone to produce and disseminate information, a new problem has emerged: fake news, which is false information intentionally shared to mislead people. Initially spread mainly through text, fake news has gradually evolved and is now distributed in multimedia formats. Since its founding in 2005, YouTube has become the world's leading video platform and is used by most people worldwide. However, it has also become a primary source of fake news, causing social problems. Various researchers have been working on detecting fake news on YouTube. There are content-based and background information-based approaches to fake news detection. Still, content-based approaches are dominant when looking at conventional fake news research and YouTube fake news detection research. This study proposes a fake news detection method based on background information rather than content-based fake news detection. In detail, we suggest detecting fake news by utilizing related video information from YouTube. Specifically, the method detects fake news through CNN, a deep learning network, from the vectorized information obtained from related videos and the original video using Doc2vec, an embedding technique. The empirical analysis shows that the proposed method has better prediction performance than the existing content-based approach to detecting fake news on YouTube. The proposed method in this study contributes to making our society safer and more reliable by preventing the spread of fake news on YouTube, which is highly contagious.

Recently, fake news disguises the form of news content and appears whenever important events occur, causing social confusion. Accordingly, artificial intelligence technology is used as a research to detect fake news. Fake news detection approaches such as automatically recognizing and blocking fake news through natural language processing or detecting social media influencer accounts that spread false information by combining with network causal inference could be implemented through deep learning. However, fake news detection is classified as a difficult problem to solve among many natural language processing fields. Due to the variety of forms and expressions of fake news, the difficulty of feature extraction is high, and there are various limitations, such as that one feature may have different meanings depending on the category to which the news belongs. In this paper, emotional change patterns are presented as an additional identification criterion for detecting fake news. We propose a model with improved performance by applying a convolutional neural network to a fake news data set to perform analysis based on content characteristics and additionally analyze emotional change patterns. Sentimental polarity is calculated for the sentences constituting the news and the result value dependent on the sentence order can be obtained by applying long-term and short-term memory. This is defined as a pattern of emotional change and combined with the content characteristics of news to be used as an independent variable in the proposed model for fake news detection. We train the proposed model and comparison model by deep learning and conduct an experiment using a fake news data set to confirm that emotion change patterns can improve fake news detection performance.

This paper proposes a lane recognition CNN network using split-attention network as a backbone to extract feature. Split-attention is a method of assigning weight to each channel of a feature map in the CNN feature extraction process; it can reliably extract the features of an image during the rapidly changing driving environment of a vehicle. The proposed deep neural networks in this paper were trained and evaluated using the Tusimple data set. The change in performance according to the number of layers of the backbone network was compared and analyzed. A result comparable to the latest research was obtained with an accuracy of up to 96.26, and FN showed the best result. Therefore, even in the driving environment of an actual vehicle, stable lane recognition is possible without misrecognition using the model proposed in this study.
