Proactive Congestion Control for Energy Efficiency of Mobile Device in Ad-hoc Network (Ad-hoc 통신망에서 이동 단말의 에너지 효율성을 고려한 능동적인 혼잡 제어 기법)

  • 최근 기지국(Base Station)의 도움 없이 이동 단말기(Mobile Device) 간의 다중 무선 홉을 사용하여 송수신자 간의 데이터 전송을 가능하게 하는 Ad-hoc 통신망에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. Ad-hoc 통신망을 구성하는 이동 단말은 이동성을 고려하여 한정된 배터리로 동작을 하게 된다. Ad-hoc 통신망에서 이동 단말은 종단(End Host)으로만 동작하는 것이 아닌 중계 노드(Intermediate Node)로도 동작을 하기 때문에 통신상에 경로를 제공하는 중요한 역할도 한다. 하지만, 현재 인터넷 상에서 광범위하게 사용되고 있는 전송 규약인 TCP(Transmission Control Protocol)는 수동적인(Reactive)혼잡 제어(Congestion Control)방식으로 망의 혼잡으로 인한 패킷 손실 발생 이전까지 전송 윈도우의 크기를 증가 때문에 반복적인 혼잡과 그로 인한 패킷 손실로 인해 불필요한 재전송을 반복하게 된다. 이와 같이 기존 TCP는 무선 통신망에서 동작하는 이동 단말의 한정된 배터리 전원을 고려하지 않고 동작하기 때문에 이동 단말의 에너지를 불필요하게 낭비하는 문제를 가지게 된다. 본 논문은 Ad-hoc 망에서 이동 단말의 에너지 효율을 개선하기 위해 불필요한 재전송 방지 및 망 상태에 따라 전송률을 적절하게 조절하는 TCP의 새로운 혼잡 제어 기법을 제시하였다. 또한 ns-2 시뮬레이터를 이용한 실험을 통해 이동 단말의 에너지 효율이 제안된 혼잡 제어 기법에 의해 향상되었음을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, The investment prioritization model was investigated for keeping the service level of mooring facilities more than the target level of management with a limited budget in the right time. Network level prioritization criteria of the national scale was developed to take into criteria index and quantitative evaluation, management authority's opinion. Delphi method was conducted maintenance exports of mooring facilities over twice for verifying the validity and adequacy. In order to improve the objectivity of criteria, the criteria for evaluating the utilization of port facilities is presented form yearly facility traffic/facility's length, the result of the analysis of facility traffic data. The investment prioritization criteria of mooring facilities is expected to be utilized for more efficient and national budget distribution applied to the maintenance budget plan of nationwide.

  • As popultations expand and economies develop, increasing competition for limited available water resources is occurring among many water users. This has brought greater attention to water allocation with legal and institutional constraints. This paper develops a optimal water allocation methodology to basinwide water resources allocation, which ensures that scare water resources are allocated among competing water users. The methodology need to be based on optimization technique to allocate water resources due to an extended scaled of river basin. The recommended model is developed to accomplish economic efficiency, equity and sustainability objectives. The appropriate case study is tested with various existing water right system allocation model and the recommended model. The result shows the applicability of model to the complex hydrologic system with legal and institutional constraints.

  • Next generation military satellite communication systems have been developed for expanding capacity and survivability. As for expanding capacity, the communication systems require efficient techonology to use limited resource. So, next generation communication systems are expected to use MF-TDMA technology. MF-TDMA is the technology which has the advantages of FDMA and TDMA. By using MF-TDMA, communication systems can use limited resource efficiently, and the performance of resource allocation depends on the allocation scheme. In this paper, we propose efficient allocation scheme for next generation military satellite communication systems. Also, we compare and analze performances such as Total Resource Efficient, Reject Ratio, Computational Time, PSD distribution with existing allocation schemes.

  • With the advent of ubiquitous environments, the smart phone has come into wide use and the demand for various content increases. Thus, in order to efficiently utilize limited resources cognitive radio technology is regarded as a possible solution. Besides spectrum sensing or access schemes, the provision of VoIP traffic service for secondary users with limited spectrum resources is a very important issue. In this paper, a resource allocation and control system for VoIP QoS provision in cognitive radio networks is proposed. Firstly, as the system model, the time structure of the network is addressed and, according to the structure, a bandwidth broker is proposed. In addition, based on available bandwidth estimated by the bandwidth broker, a connection admission control for secondary users is developed. It is demonstrated that the provision of VoIP QoS is greatly affected by channel utilization, the number of channels, and the length of timeslot.

  • The expressway is a key area of road networks for national industry, economics and social development. In addition, the number of lines are increasing continuously. Recently, road management policy have shown a paradigm shift to safe road, low-carbon and green etc. Nevertheless, the road condition has deteriorated dramatically by fatigue cracking, thermal cracking and weather impact. On the other hand, the budgets for highway maintenance have shrunk dramatically. In this study, an effective pavement management and maintenance process was developed to extend the pavement serviceability and pavement life to overcome the rack of budgets.

  • Wireless link has high bit error rate compared with wired link and many users share this limited bandwidth. So it needs more powerful error control code and efficient media access control(MAC) to provide multimedia service reliably. In this paper we proposed efficient MAC frame format based on TDMA using mini-slot for request access. The number of mini-slots is variable based on the result of collision in the previous frame. This dynamic allocation of request mini-slots helps resolve the contention situation quickly and avoids the waste of bandwidth that may occur when there are several unneeded request mini-slots. The simulation results are also presented in terms of channel utilization, call blocking probability and cell transmission delay for mixed traffic environment.

  • Lately, IT has been rapidly in land. as a result, mobile device come into wide use and is very important in everyday life. But in ship are limits network with communication Equipment and service. as a result, be far removed from information age. Currently, ship Is connected with the outside world via satellite on the voyage. but, because high billing, ship is possible data transfer using low speed bandwidth. because ship is not possible using LAN, only limit ship's crew some use internet in limited space. so, ship is required construction of the network. in this paper, because composition of basic IT environment with information need of crew and customer from ship to cruises, there construct LAN in ship and propose network design for network of ship.

  • In NGNs(Next Generation Networks), It is necessary for Integrated management of resource and information to satisfy high-quality users'demands, such as stable speed, guarantee of high level service and service requirement in various fields. In relation to this, technology for efficiently using limited resources is becoming interesting things more and more. Therefore policy of network service is dealt essentially. Recently, DEN(Directory Enabled Network)-based personalization service is user-dependent services in NGNs, and integrated management and efficient use of limited resources. Also, PBNM(Policy-Based Network Management) is new technology defined and applied by policies of communication service environments and users on demand. Subsequently to study on how to optimizing the PBNM is of great importance. In this paper, we propose a technology of the PBNM based on DEN standardized in DMTF(Distributed Management Task Force).

  • This paper presents the control system of high-efficiency automotive 35W metal-halide lamp ballast using the new control method and planar transformer. In this paper, the electronic ballast is designed so that digital control method by microcontroller can be applied to the electronic ballast for the lamp requirement and peripheral environment in order that metal-halide lamp, which has the complicated transient features, is to be applied to the automobile even if it has superior features in brightness, color rendering, light efficiency, and lifespan compared to the conventional halogen lamp. Also, the efficiency increase of the ballast is devised by being varied the switching frequency of Flyback Converter following the battery input voltage of the automobile. Being designed for high-frequency switching transformer of converter in planar form, reduction of loss, weight, overall size are realized and efficient power control in the automobile that had the limited energy and the limited space of battery is devised. The results of the proposed system is verified through various experiment results.
