연구 목적 이 연구는 내측 반월상 연골판 손상으로 인한 무릎 통증을 호소하는 5명의 환자에서 한의학적 치료, 특히 신바로 약침으로 인한 통증 개선이 있었기에 보고함이다. 연구 방법 무릎 통증으로 본원 입원치료를 받은 환자 중, MRI 영상 검사상 내측 반월상 연골 파열 진단을 받은 환자들의 차트를 분석하였다. 슬관절 통증 호전 및 기능 개선은 Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC Index), 슬관절 Range Of Motion(ROM) 및 special tests 측정으로 판단하였다. 연구 결과 5증례에서 NRS는 평균 3.4의 호전, WOMAC Index는 평균 64.4%의 호전을 보였다. 슬관절 ROM 측정에서 환자 모두 입원시보다 증가되었으나, 무릎에 손상에 사용되는 보편적 검사인 Stress valgus, Stress varus, Drawer test, Apley compression test, Mcmurray's test 상 전후비교에서 4명의 환자는 호전되었고, 1명 환자에서는 변화가 없었다. 결과 이 연구는 내측 반월상 연골판 손상에 대한 신바로 약침을 포함한 한의학적 치료 후 단기간 내 통증 및 기능 향상을 보여주었다.

Objectives : To report the patient bilateral facial palsy, because it is unusual. Methods : One patient with bilateral facial palsy was selected. Herbal medicine(Cheunggansoyosan, bubidongyeom-2) was administered and acupuncture was applied for twice a day in 73 days. Facial function was evaluated by House-Brackmann scale, Yanagihara's scale and Standardization of muscular paralysis. Results : Cheunggansoyosan, bubidongyeom-2 and acupuncture treatment improved facial function after 73 days of treatment. Adverse effects were not reported. Conclusions : This study shows that the Korean medicine treatment was effective in improving bilateral facial palsy.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of korean medical treatments on prurigo nodularis. Methods : We treated a 37-year-old female prurigo nodularis patient who has failed to respond to conventional therapies such as steroids and anti-histamines for 8 years. The patient was admitted to Daejeon University korean medical hospital for 21 days to get korean medical treatments including acupuncture, herbal-medicine, vapor treatment, venesection, pharmacopuncture and herbal-med aerosol therapy. The degree of improvement in prurigo nodularis was determined by the patient's subjective opinions on pruritus, febrile sensation, pain, and sleep disorders. Results : The results of this patient showed distinct improvements on pruritus, febrile sensation, pain, and sleep disorders. Pruritus decreased from 10 to 1, febrile sensation from 10 to 0, pain from 10 to 2, and sleeping hours increased 2 hours to 8 hours according to the patient's subjective opinions. Conclusions : This study shows the possibility that such korean medical treatments can improve prurigo nodularis.

Many obesity patients were affected by depressed liver function including hepatosteatosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical effect of the obesity therapy with Korean herbal medicine (KHM) on obese patient with abnormal liver function. This is a retrospective observational study performed on obesity patients with abnormal liver function. All subjects have taken serum liver function tests (LFTs) before treatment. Ten patients showed abnormal LFTs. They were treated with KHM at least 15 days. During this treatment, LFTs were evaluated afterwards. Body weight and body mass index of the patients were decreased during treatments. Five of 10 subjects recovered normal levels of LFTs. While other subjects remained at abnormal level but their levels were decreased. This study shows that the obesity therapy including KHM could be effective to improve liver function on obese patient. Additional large scale studies are necessary for more evidences.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report the effect of Korean medicine treatment on bilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia without abnormal findings on brain magnetic resonance imaging.Methods : The patient was treated by using acupuncture, electroacupuncture treatment and hominis placenta pharmacoacupuncture. The change of eye movement and strabismus were evaluated by comparison the photographs of the extraocular movements of patient. Strabismus also was evaluated by corneal reflex test.Results : Adduction of both eyes were improved after Korean medicine treatment. The amplitude and frequency of nystagmus showed a tendency to decrease in both eyes.Conclusions : Korean medicine treatment should be effective for the idiopathic bilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to report the efficacy of using Korean medicine treatment, for anxiety induced by chemotherapy and traffic accident. Methods: We treated a patient's anxiety with Korean medicine treatments (Yangshimtang-Gamibang, ear acupuncture, acupuncture, cupping, interferential current therapy, and herbal acupuncture therapy). To evaluate the results of this treatment, we measured the Beck Anxiety Inventory, EuroQol-Five Dimensions, Numeric rating scale, Neck Disability Index, Oswestry Disability Index, total sleep duration, time duration to fall asleep, and the number of wake-up times during sleep. Results: Improvements of the Beck Anxiety Inventory, EuroQol-Five Dimensions, Numeric rating scale, Neck Disability Index, Oswestry Disability Index, and total sleep duration were observed after the treatments. Conclusions: This study showed one case of a patient who received Korean medicine treatment for the anxiety induced by anticancer therapy and traffic accident, and improvement was observed.

Objectives: To report the efficacy of using EFT and Korean medicine treatment for ASD induced by a traffic accident. Methods: We treated ASD symptoms with Korean medicine (acupuncture, cupping, interferential current therapy, herbal acupuncture therapy). To evaluate results of this treatment, Korean version of PTSD Checklist-5 (PCL-5-K), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), and Numeric rating scale (NRS) at first visit, 5 weeks, and 12 weeks were used. Results: Korean version of PTSD Checklist-5 (PCL-5-K), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), and Numeric rating scale (NRS) showed improvements after treatments. Conclusions: This study suggests that Korean medicine and EFT treatment might be effective for ASD.

연구 배경 최근 한국 및 중국에서 근골격계 질환에 대한 도침술의 활용이 늘고 있다. 하지만 현재까지의 임상연구는 대부분 증례보고 형태에 그치거나, 충분한 근거가 확보되지는 않은 실정이다. 우리는 요천추신경병증환자의 치료에 있어 도침치료와 통상한의치료와의 비교를 통해 도침치료의 유효성, 안전성, 경제성 평가를 시행하기 위해 본 연구를 기획하게 되었다. 연구 방법 본 연구는 예비임상 연구로, 다기관에서 진행되며, 무작위대조군, 활성 대조군을 통한 2개군 병행집단 연구로 평가자 맹검을 시행하게 된다. 이 연구에서는 총 50명의 요천추신경병증 환자를 대상으로 2개군으로 균등하게 분배하여 도침술 또는 통상한의치료를 시행하게 된다(각군당 25명). 도침술 그룹의 경우 협척혈에 도침치료를 시행 받게 되며, 통상 한의치료군은 연구자 판단하에 도침술을 제외한 적절한 한의치료를 시행 받게 된다. 두 개의 그룹은 주당 2회씩 총 3주간 치료를 받게 된다. 일차 유효성 평가는 요통으로 인한 기능장애를 평가하기 위한 Oswestry disability index를 통해 시행한다. 이차 유효성 평가지표로는 numeric rating scale, European Quality of Life 5-Dimension 5-Level, short-form McGill Pain Questionnaire, Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire scores를 시행하게 된다. 고찰 본 예비임상연구의 결과는 추후 있을 요천추신경병증에 대한 도침치료 및 한의통상치료 비교효과 연구의 유효성, 경제성평가 본 임상연구를 위한 기초 정보 및 가능성을 확인하고 적절한 대상자수 산정에 도움이 될 것이다.
