오늘날 디지털기술과 결합한 사진은 현실과 허구를 결합하는 상호 텍스트성으로서의 사진이미지로 빠르게 변모하며 예술, 과학, 산업이 혼융되어 새로운 기능과 역할을 제시하고 있다. 디지털 사진과 재현의 새로운 관계 모색을 위해 적용된 디지털 포토그램의 다양한 사례를 Scanography, 3D Scanning작품, 나노과학기술과 사진이 만나 결합한 Nanogrphy, 렌티큘러 필터를 이용한 즉석 입체영상 배경사진 촬영 등을 통해 살펴보고 다양한 문화현상을 형성하고 새로운 시각적 패러다임을 제시하면서 문화변동까지 이끌어내는 디지털 사진의 확장가능성에 대해 연구한다.

사진영상기술과 전문사진작품을 동시에 만날 수 있는 아시아 최대의 사진페스티발이 열린다. 올해로 19회째를 맞이하는 '2010 서울국제사진영상기자재전'이 4월29일부터 5월2일까지 나흘간의 일정으로 코엑스 본관 1층 대평양홀에서 성대하게 개최된다. 이번 전시회는 국내외 참관객들이 국내 사진영상산업의 세계적인 위상을 확인하는 한편 주요 국가별 주요업체의 신기술, 신제품이 총출동함으로써 사진영상기술의 세계 동향 및 흐름을 한 눈에 확인할 수 있는 기회가 될 것으로 기대된다. 본 고에서는 전시회 개막을 앞두고 P&I 2010의 특징, 주요 프로그램 및 부대행사 일정 등을 살펴본다.

This study explored the official memory of Korean War through the photographs of pictorial history books. The object of this study was two books of pictorial history that were published in America and China. Two books are Pictorial History of Korean War and The Glories of the People's Army of China. This study investigated symbolic meanings of the Korean War photographs through content analysis and visual analysis. This study analyzed the difference of official memory of Korean War in America and China. In Pictorial History of Korean War, the superiority of military strength was the memory of Korean War. While in The Glories of the People's Army of China, the superiority of socialism was the memory of Korean War. The Korean War photography actualized particular interpretations on Korean War.

The monthly news and culture magazine, 'Sasanggye,' established by Jang Jun-ha from 1953 to 1970, served as a platform for government criticism and intellectual representation. The magazine created photographic-essays covering a variety of topics and utilized images as a visually impactful tool with news value. This paper aims to critically examine the photographic-essays within 'Sasanggye' as archival records, shedding light on their intrinsic value. Before delving into this assessment, the paper thoroughly explores the developmental process and characteristics of these photographic-essays. And based on the content divisions within the main text, the paper categorized the themes captured in the photographic essays into politics, economics, society, culture, and miscellaneous topics. It then introduced representative photographicessays. From an archival perspective, looking at photographs involves elucidating that photographs carry meanings beyond mere data. The photographic essays in 'Sasanggye' serve as photographic records providing evidence of 1960s Korean society and encapsulating crucial visual information. Furthermore, the photographic essays in 'Sasanggye' hold a historical significance in the aspect of Korean magazine documentary photography. The photo-essays in 'Sasanggye' carry worth in the history of photography and encompass evidential and informational values as photographic records.

본 프로젝트는 Tmap을 사용해서 사진의 GPS 정보를 활용한 네비게이션 App이다. 프로젝트의 핵심 기능 및 환경은 GPS가 탑재된 카메라 또는 스마트폰의 GPS를 활용한 사진 촬영의 경우, 사진에 포함된 경/위도 위치 값을 활용한 네비게이션 기능이다. 인터넷 및 디지털 사진의 경우 멋진 풍경이나 맛집, 행선지 등의 사진을 보고 장소가 어디인지? 또는 가보고 싶은 장소가 있다. 이러한 사진의 촬영 장소는 GPS 정보를 포함하는 사진의 경우, 정적인 위치가 지도상에 표시만 된다. 이렇게 정적인 지도의 위치 값을 네비게이션 기능을 활용하여 동적으로 쉽게 사진 속 장소를 쉽게 찾아 갈 수 있도록 네비게이션 기능을 제공한다. 또한 약속장소를 잘 못 찾을 때 현재의 네비게이션 주소를 알면 상대가 기존 네비게이션을 활용하여 쉽게 찾을 수 있다. 그러나 주소나 상점 등위치 정보를 모를 때 상대에게 약속 장소의 위치를 정확하게 전달하는 것은 어렵다. 이러한 문제는 현재 위치를 사진을 찍어 전송하면 그 사진에 포함된 경/위도 위치 값을 활용한 길 안내와 실제 촬영한 이미지를 함께 보면서 약속 장소를 찾아가는데 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.

Generally, most people use the photo management method which clusters lots of photos into each folders according to photo shooting time and date. However, since the number of photos to manage is getting more increasing, it takes much time and burdensome work. This paper describes PHOTOLAND, a system that visualizes hundreds of photos on a 2D grid space to help users manage their photos. It closely places similar photos in the grid based on temporal and spatial information. Most photograph management systems use a scrollable view based on a sequential grid layout that arranges the thumbnails of photos in some default order on the screen. Our system decreases drag and drop mouse interaction when they classify their photos into small groups comparing to the sequential grid layout. We conducted experiments to evaluate temporal coherence and space efficiency.

디지털 카메라의 대중화와 고용량 저장매체의 보편화로 인해 대중들은 손쉽게 디지털 사진 촬영이 가능하게 되었다. 디지털 사진은 필름 사진과 달리 촬영을 하는데 있어 비용이 들지 않을 뿐만 아니라 플래쉬 메모리의 증가로 인해 다수의 사진들을 촬영할 수 있게 되었으나 그만큼 많은 사진들을 관리하고 분류하는 것은 쉽지 않은 일이 되었다. 따라서 디지털 사진을 자동으로 분류하고 관리하는 기능은 중요한 과제가 되었지만, 현재까지 나온 방법들은 사진 내의 객체가 확대, 축소 및 이동하거나 배경이 바뀌는 영상에 있어서 정확한 유사도를 측정하여 분류하는데 어려움이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 어려움을 보완한 디지털 사진의 클러스터링 알고리즘을 제안한다. 입력영상을 그리드 형태로 나누어 각 블록별로 측정한 유사도 값을 바탕으로 클러스터링하며, 이때 디지털 사진 내에 포함되어 있는 촬영정보인 EXIF를 이용하여 입력 영상에 따라 적응적(adaptive)으로 그리드를 나누어 비교한다. 또한, 영상에 따라 각기 다른 색상의 분포 정도를 고려해 색상 가중치를 고려하여 사진을 비교함으로써, 영상의 고수준(high-level) 분석에서처럼 객체와 배경을 추출하여 따로 분리하지 않고도 객체의 배경이 다른 사진들을 저수준(low-level) 에서 분석이 가능토록 하였다. 제안한 방법으로 실험한 결과 객체의 크기 및 이동이나 배경에 큰 영향을 받지 않으면서 입력영상들을 클러스터링 할 수 있었다.

This study examines photographers who experienced steep changes from film to digital photography working and photography culture after using digital camera through a phenomenological approach. Digital technologies have brought many transition. Most of all digital camera popularize photography among people who had no knowledge and experience about camera. On the contrary digital photography made many professional photographers difficulties. After being digital photography, most film companies and film developing and printing studios have diminished. In addition many professional photographers have to cover increasing working time by decreasing photography price. For this research researcher interviewed 12 professional photographers who is working as a digital photographer. After collecting data, researcher analyse data by phenomenological approach. This study is looking for a meaning of photographers' labor after digital photography times.

Percival Lowell took photographs of 80s during his stay in Korea in the winter of 1883 and 1884. The photographs are the first in the history of Korea and contain various and precious information about Korea of the day. As such, they could be used for purposes of studying late 19th century Chosōn society. The 61 photographs that are archived in Boston Museum of Fine Art were catalogued by National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and have been posted online with incorrect explanations by Boston Museum of Fine Art. The explanations have been composed and revised at least four times on the basis of Lowell's writings and archivists' understandings of Korea. However these explanations contain many errors regarding the content of the photographs, yet have been cited by researchers and books concerning the history of Korea. I examined the explanations, analyzed Lowell's writings and diplomatic documents, and confirmed the locations where the photographs were taken. Accordingly, I suggest improved explanations of the photographs to prevent misuse of the Boston Museum of Fine Art's online archive. Lowell's photographs of Chosōn have very high historical value and could be used in various cultural fields because of their various contents and high definition. However, they belong to America and are not cared for sufficiently. Therefore, I suggest that high definition digital scans and prints of the photographs be generated for the sake of overseas Korean cultural heritage collection.

The purpose of this study is to provide a basic theory of photogeography. There is a close relationship between photos and fine arts, but lots of differences. For examples photos are arts of cognition, analytic media and time. Geographic photos are photos useful for geography. Geographic-photos are a kinds of academic photos which deals with special meaning of geographic phenomena and cognition of the certain area. According to the nature the photos available for geography, can be grouped into geographic photos and general photos. Geographical ideas, photographical skills and artistic senses are necessary to the photogeographers. Geographic photos are useful for research and educational Purpose. The aspect of research is related to the systematic geography, for example ; geomorphology, historical geography etc. In conclusion, to the photo geographer the geographic idea is more necessary than the skill of photography.
