Art works reflect the spirit and aesthetic information of the times. More specially clothing shown in paintings indicates the phases of the times and contains the aesthetic values of the era. The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of German Romantic Era on male and female clothing style represented in Caspar David Friedrich's paintings. The study aims to highlight the following: First, German romanticism ironically gives conceptual importance but high value to freedom of inner self and imaginative sensitivity of human beings. Second, the paintings of Friedrich show the consistency with nature through human beings' inner self and transcendency ultimately expressing religious ideals paradoxically. Third, the characteristics of male and female clothing style shown in Friedrich's paintings are considered religious, contemplative, paradoxical, transcendental, conceptual, political, grass-roots oriented, and female liberating. Female clothing reflects simple empire-style, while male clothing shows romantic style of people's leaders, reflecting the political features in those days.

본 논문에서는 점묘화를 생성하기 위한 회화적 렌더링 기법을 제안한다. 신인상파(Neo-Impressionist) 화가 쇠라는 캔버스위의 독립 색채들은 망막위에서 재조직된다는 이론을 바탕으로 점묘화를 제안한다. 이는 색의 병치혼합과 보색대비를 이용해 빛의 가산혼합이 회화작품에 적용될 수 있도록 하기위해 브러시 스트로크로 작은 점을 이용한다. 이러한 점묘화를 표현하기위해서 쇠라의 작품과 동시대의 색이론 분석을 통해 색의 분할과 병치혼합의 이론적 배경을 알아보고 이를 통해 점묘 스트로크의 색상, 모양, 방향등을 결정할 수 있는 알고리즘을 소개한다. 먼저 신인상파의 팔레트 분석을 통해 칼라모델을 설계한다. 그리고 입력영상을 영상분할 기법을 이용해 공간적 구도를 잡고 각 분할 영역의 관계를 고려해 색상을 할당한다. 각 할당된 색은 보색과 함께 정의된다. 각 분할영역은 해당영역에서 표현될 수 있는 색상의 작은 점묘 브러시 스트로크로 렌더링이 된다. 이때 입력영상의 밝기정보를 유지할 수 있도록 점묘 스트로크는 색상이 결정된다. 점묘 스트로크의 방향은 입력영상의 에지방향을 따르도록 보간법을 이용해 계산한다.

This paper analyses Wassily Kandinsky's abstract paintings. this paper aims to discuss phases of Kandinsky's works as well as their formative characteristic theory. Practically, with formative characteristics in Kandinsky's paintings such as point, line, plane, form and color, this paper presents four sets of costumes. Among which, geometric patterns are intensively collaged as the formative characteristic of "point" calls for; crossed necklines and waistlines are applied as the characteristic of "lines" represents; plane and solid patterns are adopted as the main parts and ornaments as both the characteristic of "plane" and that of "form" claim; three primary colors - red, blue and yellow - are introduced as the characteristic of "color" depicts. Artificial leathers are used as the main fabric, patchwork and draping as so in technology. Therefore, with the theoretical and practical efforts, this paper aims to seek the interdisciplinary possibilities between paintings and fashion arts, and in order to develop several fashion designs representing modern aesthetics with their unique characteristics.

After modernism, artistic movements such as Cubism, Futurism, De stijl and Bauhaus demonstrated a connection to architecture and other plastic arts and developed a tendency towards a synthetic art. Above all, the unification of painting and architecture is the most noticeable point; a blueprint and a multi-coloring space that are applied on 3-dimensions painting brought new dimensions into relief. Following this artistic trend, it is easy to point out that Le Corbusier's works; which were created under the name of Charles Edouard Jeanneret, show the pictorial peculiarity in the Space Design. Even if white space that he has designed under the slogan such as standardization and mechanization, the variety and metamorphism that he has tried to express on his work have widely been recognized. Especially, his late architectural works were produced as the figurative arts expressing the ambiguity of painting and hence led a step towards a synthetic art. The study analyses Le Corbusier's 2-dimensional Painting as well as his 3-dimensional Space Design. Furthermore, it aims at embarking on the unification of painting and architecture in terms of Le Corbusier's synthetic design philosophy.

회화적 기법의 제작 방식은 애니메이션에서 종종 활용된다. 그 중 판화의 제작 방식은 애니메이션 제작에 활용 되고 있으며 실크스크린과 목판화는 자주 활용되어 기법 연구의 사례도 많으나 동판화를 활용한 애니메이션의 제작 또는 연구의 사례는 빈약한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 동판화 애니메이션 제작의 교과서적 표본이 되고있는 폴란드의 영화감독이자 표현주의 메조틴트 동판화 애니메이션 감독 피오트르 듀말라(Piotr Dumala)의 작품 사례를 통해 동판화 애니메이션의 제작 기법을 소개 하고자 한다. 메조틴트 동판화만이 표현해 낼 수 있는 독특한 질감과 운동감, 깊이감, 조형적 특징을 분석한다. 애니메이션 작가들에게 동판화 기법을 에칭과 인그레이빙으로 나누어소개함으로써 회화적 애니메이션 제작 기법의 폭을 한 단계 확장시킬 수 있다.

Aesthetic values reflecting the phases of the time are well represented in the clothing styles in paintings. Especially, modern German romantic artists' ideologies on the essence of nature and life are reflected in the figures of paintings. This paper aims at finding out how the sublime beauty of German romantic clothing styles is represented in the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich. The research is summarized as follows. First, the German romanticism led the modern romanticism and was especially enthusiastic about the sublime beauty of arts. Second, the sublime means the exaltation of passionately soaring souls and has the mysterious transcendence that unpleasant feeling is elevated to pleasant feeling inside men who are so feeble compared with vast nature. Third, the male and female clothing styles in his paintings represent the religious, contemplative, paradoxical, transcendental, liberating sublime beauties of the German romanticism. Accordingly, a study on the sublime beauty of the German romantic clothing styles will renew the interpretation and aesthetic values of early modern clothing.

본 논문에서는 점묘주의에서 화가들이 사용했던 색상이론을 기반으로 색상병치의 특징 및 패턴을 분석하고 얻어진 분석 데이터를 회화적 렌더링에 적용해 점묘화를 생성하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 점묘화의 병치를 분석하기 위해서, 실제 작품에 나타나는 스트로크의 색상을 추출하고 그 색상의 분포도를 잘 알려진 확률분포함수와 적합도 검정을 통해 최적의 분포도 함수를 얻는다. 이러한 분포도 함수를 이용해 색상 병치를 함으로써 2D 입력영상을 점묘화풍의 영상으로 효과적으로 변환할 수 있었다. 우리의 연구는 실제 작품을 통해 얻어진 데이터를 사용함으로써 보다 신뢰성이 있으며 합리적이라고 할 수 있다.

본 연구의 목적은 사진을 사실의 묘사와 재현에 국한하지 않고 상상력을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 미디어로서 새로운 가능성을 모색하고 일상의 경험을 창의적으로 표현하는 작업을 위한 기법의 구현에 있다. 포토몽타주 제작기법 연구를 위한 작품의 형성배경으로서 사진과 회화의 다원성 연구를 위한 픽토리얼리즘, 포토몽타주 기법을 탄생시킨 다다이즘에 대한 분석을 위한 문헌연구와 선행연구조사를 수행하였으며 새로운 시각적 표현 기법의 모색을 위한 작품제작을 병행하여 사진과 회화의 융합가능성을 고찰하였다. 연구 방법으로 기존의 포토몽타주 제작기법과의 차별성에 대하여 조사하고 Transfer Mode를 활용하는 이미지합성과 다중 레이어의 멀티이미지를 합성하는 포토몽타주 제작기법에 대하여 설명하고 영상을 구성하는 이미지 언어의 기능적인 측면에서 이미지를 활용하여 포토몽타주를 제작하였다.

본 논문에서는 회화적 렌더링에서 칼라변환을 이용한 브러쉬 스트로크의 생성에 관한 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 논문의 브러쉬 스트로크 생성을 위한 전체적인 구성은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 두 장의 사진(한 장의 소스 이미지와 한 장의 참조 이미지)을 입력으로 하여 칼라 변환 이론을 적용하여 색상 테이블이 바뀐 새로운 이미지를 생성한다. 이 방법은 소스 이미지의 칼라 분포 형태를 창조 이미지의 칼라 분포 형태로 변환하기 위해, 선형 히스토그램 매칭이라 불리는, 간단한 통계학적 방법을 이용한다. 둘째, 가우시안 블러링과 소벨 필터를 이용하여 에지를 검출한다. 검출된 에지는 브러쉬 스트로크 렌더링 시 에지 부분에서 스트로크를 클리핑 함으로써 이미지의 윤곽선 보존을 위해 사용된다. 셋째, 브러쉬 스트로크의 방향을 결정하기 위한 방향맵을 생성한다. 방향맵은 입력 영상에 대한 영역 분할 및 병합을 토대로 만들어진다. 영역별 각 픽셀들에 대해 이미지 그래디언트에 기초한 일정한 방향을 부여함으로써 방향맵을 구성한다. 넷째, 구성된 방향맵을 참조하여 브러쉬 스트로크 생성의 기초가 되는 베지어 곡선(Bezier Curve)의 제어점(Control point)을 설정한다. 실제 회화작품에서 사용되는 브러쉬 스트로크는 일반적으로 곡선의 형태를 이루므로 곡선 표현이 가능한 베지어 곡선을 이용하여 브러쉬 스트로크를 표현하였다. 마지막으로, 생성된 브러쉬 스트로크를 에지부문에서 클리핑하고 배경색을 참조하여 블렌딩하거나 퐁 조명 모델을 이용하여 이미지에 적용하게 된다.

A new kind of tide is rising in the area of architecture nowadays, and the young architects throughout the world are making their move here and there. This acquires a new trend in viewing new kinds of constructions. Following study is to analyze relationship between abstract arts and the formative characteristics of contemporary architecture. Architecture, as with pictures and sculptures, are traditionally in the category of art. The flow of pictures that had mostly given influence to modern architecture should be cubist and futurist of early 20C. Although cubists had given much importance to shape itself and futurists had given much thoughts to conceptual basis, which is mind of the century and flow of cultural aspects, these two movements had risen at almost the same time and have established two of most famous views of avante-garde, which is geometrical abstraction and mechanical beautism. These characteristics of abstraction arts had given much influence to modern architecture in point of shape both in and out and had become the reason of searching for the new style of architecture which could represent the culture and minds of the time.
