  • The research analyzes the factors that influence the job satisfaction of library volunteers for the disabled. Based on comparable literature review, this research extracts comprehensive factors that affect job satisfaction. The research found that job satisfaction depended on marital status, age, education and the channel that a volunteer went through to participate in assisting the disabled. Self-motivation also influenced the job satisfaction, but altruistic motivation did not. For environmental factors, compensation, prior experience, and roles did not influence the job satisfaction. For the factors related to the awareness of the value of volunteering, overall expectation and fitness of tasks were found to be passive with job satisfaction.

  • Security Service is the study for social safety and maintenance of order. Compared with the industrial circle, it has only been 18 years, though, many-sided scholars have been interested in this field and tried. The present Security Service, however, has several problems, so it is difficult to gain recognition as the value of learning. To achieve this, several kinds of prior tasks should get solved. First, Preparation for agreement between Industry and University about the academic concept and establishment of range. Second, Set up the School Register System for the academic establishment of identity. Third, Preparation of the plan for the organization of education system. Fourth, Study Direction different from the industrial world. (Unconcern) Therefore, the alternatives centered on some prior tasks will be suggested to enhance the identity and value of Security Service as the study.

  • In the era of digital media era, the importance of media education has been emphasized by both scholars and audience right related organizations. However, little research has been conducted about the factors may have influence on the intention to participate media education program. Therefore, this study attempted to examine the effect of motivation on both satisfaction and intention of it. For this purpose, this study surveyed the participants from education program offered by two local media center. The results showed that the activity-oriented motivation had effect on both the satisfaction and intention to continuous participation. The results of the current study can be applied to development of the plan for encouraging the continuous learning of media.

  • Human being represents his emotion through facial expression on purpose or unconsciously. Several psychologists started the research for analysis of facial expression, and over the last decade, many computer scientists were also interested in it. Facial expression recognition is a future-valuable research that can be applicable in many kinds of field based on man-computer interface. However, in spite of lots of study, it is hard to find any practical systems because of a variety of illumination and scale of face, and high dimensional information to be processed. In this paper, I tried to describe a generic framework for facial expression analysis, the need of each level, and international research tendency. Also, I analyzed the case study of facial expression in Korea. I expect it to be helpful for the scientists willing to make contribution on facial expression.

  • Model selection and hypothesis testing problems in Bayesian inference are still debated between scholars. Bayesian factors traditionally used as a criterion in Bayesian hypothesis testing and model selection, are easy to understand but sometimes hard to compute. In addition, there are other model selection criterions such as DIC(Deviance Information Criterion) by Spiegelhalter et al. (2002) and Bayesian P-values for testing. In this paper, we briefly introduce the Bayesian hypothesis testing and model selection procedure. In addition we have applied a Bayesian inference to Swiss banknote data by a fitting logistic regression model and computing several test statistics to see if they provide consistent results.

  • It is known that Agresti-Coull approach is an effective tool for the construction of confidence intervals for various problems related to binomial proportions. However, the Agrest-Coull approach often produces a conservative confidence interval. In this note, confidence intervals based on a Bayesian approach are proposed for a linear function of independent binomial proportions. It is shown that the Bayesian confidence interval slightly outperforms the confidence interval based on Agresti-Coull approach in average sense.

  • The argument from ignorance that knowledge conclusion is derived from ignorance premises is claimed to be fallacious by many logicians such as I. Copi. According to them, some arguments from ignorance which seem to be acceptable are not really the arguments from ignorance. They say that such arguments have implicitly conditional knowledge premise. Against them, I argue that every argument from ignorance can be interpreted as having a hidden conditional premise, and that every argument from ignorance is not fallacious. I propose the criterion to judge which argument from ignorance is fallacious and which is persuasive. In particular, I argue that social contexts play a crucial role to judge whether a practical argument is fallacious or not.

  • This article analysis the obstacles and motivating factors of joint ventures between South Korean and German companies. As a theoretical frame is used the resource based view to explain motivating as well as hindering factors that influence joint ventures between Korean and German firms. The theoretical findings are tested with a sample of approximately 200companies that operate in the machinery industry. The data were provided by the German Machinery Industry Association and the Korean Association of Machinery Industry. The results of the findings are used to derive implications for governmental policy makers.

  • A knowledge classification is based on different types of knowledge system. which depends on classified objects, purposes, times, regions, and scholars. The classified contents. however, do not show any significant difference in any times or regions, though there are differences in representation methods and in arrangement priority of representing knowledge, Knowledge or library classification reflects the structure of a contemporary society and is decided by social philosophy of the time. The basic structure of knowledge system in the past was formed in the ancient time, and since then, it has been continuously developed. In the course of this process, the development of studies has generated other branches of studies, playing a significant role in changing the whole system of studies. This kind of development will continue to occur and many new branches of information will appear. resulting in taking each category of knowledge classification.
