Analysis of Current Situation of University Student Loans Based on Bigdata (빅데이터 기반 대학생 학자금 대출 현황 분석)

  • Before the scholarship loan system was implemented at the Korea Scholarship Foundation, the government's role was strengthened by the direct lending of student funds to banks and other financial institutions. However, the low repayment performance of student loans has raised concerns over the future of student loans and the government's financial burden. Moreover, since student loans are repaid even after graduating from college to support low-income families, it is highly unlikely that the repayment rate of student loans will improve unless the employment rate and income level of the borrower improve. In this paper, the final visualization graph is presented of the repayment amount of the student loan through the collection, storage, processing and analysis phase in the Big Data-based system. This could be the basis for visually checking the amount of student loans to come up with various ways to reduce the burden on the current student loan system.

  • This paper examined the impact of student loan on job search duration, explicitly considering the type of student loan. The data was collected from Korean Education & Employment Panel (KEEP) study released by KRIVET. The survival analysis shows the following two patterns. First, the students who used the student loan with guarantee tended to have longer job search duration of job search. Second, the students with the income contingent loan tended to have shorter job search duration to end up with lower wage.

The Analysis of the Process Elements and the Characteristics of Biologists' and Gifted Students' Designing Experiment Activities (생물학자와 과학영재의 실험설계활동에서 나타나는 과정요소 및 특성 분석)

  • The purpose of the research was to analyze the characteristics and the process elements which appeared to the process of designing experiment for biologists and gifted students in science. Four biologists and thirty-two gifted students were participated in this study. The findings indicated that (a) the researcher figured out the process elements could constructed in fifteen elements such as confirming questions, arrange materials, consideration for experimental subjects, searching variables, eliminating variables, selecting variables, planning operation of variables, planning control environmental variables, planning control biological variables, planning the methods of observation and assessment, planning the methods of collecting data, planning the interpretation of data, planning the repetition of experiments, planning the repetition of assessment, safety regulations as well. The biologists concentrated in the particular process elements related with variables, since the science-gifted students concerned the performance whole process elements themselves without deeper consideration, (b) the characteristics of biologists and science-gifted students in the process of designing experiment were as follows; 1) biologists and students showed the process elements which include the domain specific process skills as well, 2) biologists accurately conducted the designing experiments processes with repetition of specific process, since students designed experiments conventionally, and 3) biologists possessed the domain specific skills and know-how about their experiments, but students did not. The results show that the programs of designing experiment activity should be constructed with the process elements which were concentrated by biologists, should provide feedbacks to design experiment more accurately, and should be developed with concern of the process skills and know-hows of biologists.

  • 연구윤리는 학자나 학계에 국한된 문제가 아니다. 만일 부정 연구를 행하는 학자들이 버젓이 행세하고 다닌다면 성실히 연구를 수행하는 많은 학자들의 의지가 꺾이고 학문 발전의 암적 요소가 될 것은 불 보듯 뻔한 일히다. 또한 학문의 지적 경쟁력은 약화되고 사회와 국가의 역량도 더불어 약화될 것이다. 연구윤리를 높이기 위해서는 온정주의나 부실한 논문 관리 시스템, 정량 평가 문제 등을 해결하는 구조적인 차원에서의 접근이 필요하다. 아울러 장기적인 계획을 세우고 관리 인프라를 구축하는 등 정부 차원에서의 노력도 필요하다.

Survey and Archaeological Research on the Shàngdu(上都) Site in Yuán(元) Ruins (원상도(元上都)의 조사와 건축유적의 고고학 연구)

  • The $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ site in the Yuan Dynasty of China, a capital city located in the northern steppe area characterised by the nomadic life, has received great attentions from a number of travellers, historians and archaeologists. Several famous European travellers described vividly the city structure and civil life of $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ from the Yuan Dynasty onwards. Since the begging of the modern era, a number of foreign expeditionists and historians explored $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ and published research reports. From the 20th century, mainly Chinese and Japanese historians and archaeologists carried out the relatively detailed historical researches and archaeological surveys to the $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ site; and published books, articles and excavation reports. More detailed and scientific archaeological investigations, mappings and excavations have been conducted since 1990s. This paper aims to progress basic discussion to the city structures of the $Sh{\grave{a}}ngdu$ site based on the previously conducted researches by expeditionists, geographers and archaeologists and the full scale investigations, which have been carried out since the late 20th century.

A Study on Yulgok School Scholars' Theory to Study "Daehak(大學, Great Learning)"-Focusing on Horon(湖論) and Nakron(洛論) Scholars' Opinions of Bunyeom(浮念) and Pyeonnyeom(偏念) (율곡학파 학자들의 『대학』 공부론 연구- 부념(浮念)과 편념(偏念)에 관한 호론과 낙론 학자들의 견해를 중심으로 -)

  • In this thesis, based on Yulgok's theory to study "Daehak", it was examined how scholars of Horn and Nakron developed the theory to study "Daehak" regarding Bunyeom and Pyeonnyeom in the context of the history of ideas. The scholars of Horon and Nakron developed Yulgok's theory to study "Daehak" arguing that one could fully recover a saint's mind only after studying Seongeui(誠意, sincerity) to get rid of Aknyeom(惡念, an evil intention), Jeongsim(正心, an upright heart) to control Bunyeom, and Susin(修身, moral training) to control study and Pyeonnyeom. Yet, as scholars of Nakron criticized Horon scholars' argument considering the study of Jeongsim to control Bunyeom as Jeongsi(靜時, calm time), the controversy over the theory to study "Daehak" developed. The scholars of Horon generally insisted that because the method of Seongchal(省察, introspection) suggested in "Jeongsimjang(正心章, Chapter of Upright Heart)" of "Daehak" was not going into Dongsi(動時, dynamic time) and fathoming with Saryeo(思慮, consideration), but releasing it at the very moment of catching the indication of four troubles relevant to Bunyeom, the study on Jeongsim in "Daehak" should be the study of Jeongsi(靜時, calm time) for Jonyang(存養, developing good nature) of the main part of mind. On the other hand, the scholars of Nakron mostly contended that because Sim(心, mind) discussed in "Jeongsimjang" of "Daehak" referred to the whole mind and was not limited to Mibalsim(未發心, mind not manifested yet) of Jeongsi(靜時, calm time), the study on Jeongsim should include Dongjeong(動靜, movements). Yulgok once commented on Lee Yeon-pyeong(李延平)'s study on Mi-bal-che-in(未發體 認) in the same context of the study methods of release at the very moment of light reflection(輕輕照管·輕輕放退). In this respect, study on Jeongsim to control Bunyeom can be separated and belong to the study on Mibal of Jeongsi(靜時, calm time) as the scholars of Horon did. On the other hand, from the aspect that regarding the study on Jeongsim, Yulgok discussed both Jonyang(存養, developing good nature) and Seongchal(省察, introspection) with Mibal(未發, not manifested) and Yibal(已發, already manifested) together, it seems to have no problem to think of Jeongsim as the study including Dongjeong(動靜, movements). There were no different opinions between the scholars of Horon and those of Nakron regarding that there was study of Jeongsi(靜時, calm time) in "Daehak", too. However, while the scholars of Horon usually understood the study of Jeongsim in "Daehak" itself as the study of Mibal in "Jungyong", some scholars of Nakron thought that even though the study of Jeongsim of "Daehak" corresponded to Dongsi(動時, dynamic time), it included the study on Mibal because of the logic of Che-yong-il-won(體用一源). It can be said that the discussion over the study of Jeongsim to control Bunyeom and the study of Susin to control Pyeonnyeom were not limited to the proposal of the methodology to just control Bunyeom and Pyeonnyeom, but developed into the understanding of "Daehak" and "Jungyong" as one system of study.
