Participants in this study were middle school students chosen from 11 middle schools in Seoul, by convenience sampling. A total of 1,204 surveys were then analyzed. Methods for analysis included Frequencies, Descriptives, Pearson's Correlation, Hierarchical Regression. From the result of the analysis, the level of verbal violence came out to be a relatively high form of peer victimization. The hierarchical regression were conducted in two steps. The second model's descriptive variable was higher by 19.6% than the first model. The variables of interaction between teacher and student in peer violence(${\beta}=.130$), of school facility maintenance(${\beta}=.067$), of safety of school environment(${\beta}=.331$), and economic status and sex out of controlled variables were proved to be of significance, and those variables explained 23.0% of the entire model. • As school violence gets serious, the school system created the local board against school violence in order to respond to school violence effectively. Yet, there are not many studies about the effectiveness of the local board against school violence. A few studies investigated teachers' perception about the local board while the information about the school resource officers' perception is not known much. The current study surveyed school resource officers about their perception towards the function of the local board, its member, and the response of the principal to school violence. Participants are the school resource officers working for the four metropolitan police agencies(Seoul, Kyunggi, Busan, and Ulsan) in Korea, and were asked to answer to structured and open-ended questions. The results indicated that the officers thought the local board did not very well for the function of protecting the victim's rights. In addition, they believed that the participation of parents needs to be limited in the membership, and more experts should be included in the membership of the local board. They also thought the principals should be tough in dealing with school violence. The discussion includes ideas about improving professionalism of the membership and making changes on the related regulations.

  • As a substitute for preventing school violence, the reward and punishment system has some problems such as different imposition basis for each teacher, ambiguity of applicable items, and difficulties in directing students in relation to parents of students. In this thesis, a reward and punishment points management system is implemented based on the web to solve the problems. The week point of the current system is complemented by separating the system into four parts, operating each part that is operated by administrators, teachers, students and their parents respectively and sharing their data. In addition, as each group of administrators, teachers, students and their parents is organically connected to the system, when special problems occur, the problems can be solved effectively. Therefore, if the implemented system is used in the field, the guidance of human nature is naturally conducted by understanding broadly for student's living guidance. Furthermore, it can be helpful to prevent students from school violence in advance.

  • This study examined school adjustment and protective factors of school violence victims in 1128 5th and 6th graders. Children completed questionnaires. Descriptive analysis showed that 52.5% of the participants had experienced school violence at least once over the past 9 months. Boys reported more school violence than girls. Victims of school-violence experience showed lower levels of school adjustment than other students, but victims with protective factors of high self-esteem, teacher's support, internal locus of control, and parents' democratic fostering attitude showed better school adjustment. While these protective factors had a positive influence on children's school adjustment, friend's support had a negative influence.

The robot content was demonstrated to thirty early childhood educators whose acceptability of the content was measured using questionnaires. And also the content was applied to children in daycare center. As a result, majority of them responded positively in acceptability. The results of this study suggest that the further research is needed to improve two-way interactivity of teacher assistive robot.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how a therapeutic drumming intervention would impact middle school students with regard to school violence prevention. Participants were all in the third-year class of a middle school in Korea. A school music teacher and a music therapist designed and implemented the program collaboratively, and mainly used dyadic, synchronized, and improvisational drumming based on the Social Emotional Learning core competencies. A total of 65 students participated in a weekly 45-minute program for 10 weeks. Ten participants out of 65 were selected for interviews and the rest of the 55 participants were asked to fill out an open-ended survey. Content analysis of the survey and interviews produced 492 meaningful statements, which were categorized into seven themes: somatic responses to drumming, emotional processing, group cohesion, empathy, relationship with peers, self-esteem, and self-regulation. The findings indicated that dyadic, synchronized, and improvisational drumming may promote prosocial behaviors in students of this age. The author discussed that drumming produces physical input directly from the instruments, which prompts students to identify and empathize with their own or others' emotions. This study therefore suggests that collaborative work between school music teachers and music therapists may positively impact middle school students' prosocial behaviors, as they pertain to school violence in Korea.

  • This study examines factors that influence delinquent behavior among Korean adolescents using longitudinal analysis. A total of 1,012 students completed a questionnaire when they were Grade 6 and 739 students completed a follow-up questionnaire when they became Grade 9. Results of multiple regression analysis indicate that the following variables predicted delinquent behavior of Grade 9 students: Bullying, previous delinquency, experience of punishment, victimization, social efficacy, and moral disengagement. The above six variables have direct and mediating influence of delinquent behavior. Relational factors also influenced delinquent behavior. Social exclusion from friends reduce social efficacy, which increases victimization and which in turn increases bullying, leading to greater delinquency. Parental rejection, social exclusion from friends and hostility from teachers increase moral disengagement, which increases bullying, leading to delinquency. Low academic achievement increases the likelihood of being punished, which increases bullying, leading to delinquency. The results indicate that moral disengagement and social efficacy are mediating factors of delinquency and negative life-events (i.e., social exclusion from friends, rejection from teachers, hostility from parents and low academic achievement) increase the likelihood that Korean adolescents will engage in delinquent behavior. Implications of the results for future research are discussed.
