  • In this paper, we propose a method to detect interesting objects in inaccessible areas using high resolution satellite images. We define the interesting objects as a set of objects which have conceptually similar image patterns, not having exact sizes or shapes. In this paper, we developed a learning and classifier of Support Vector Machine (SVM) that extracts characteristic data for inputted images using Histogram of Gradients (HOG) feature and detects similar objects in other images using the characteristic data. As automatic search of interesting objects in our proposed method, we identify that our method provides reduced time and efforts for manual searching similar objects.

  • With the development of mobile devices and intelligent surveillance system loaded with pan/tilt cameras, object tracking with non-stationary cameras has become a topic with increasing importancy. Since it is difficult to model a background image in a non-stationary camera environment, colors and texture are the most important features in the tracking algorithm. However, colors in the background similar to those in the target arise instability in the tracking. Recently, we proposed a robust color based tracking algorithm that uses an area weighted centroid shift. In this letter, we update the model such that it becomes more stable against background colors. The proposed algorithm also incorporates time filtering by adding an additional energy term to the energy functional.

  • IMO developed e-navigation implementation plan which is a new paradigm of vessel safety navigation using harmonized information technology. S-100 standard for electronic navigational chart is also adopted as one of e-navigation strategies. In S-100 framework, not only geographic features of electronic chart but every safety related objects can be expressed by UML so that can be provided by web services. This paper research to test S-100 web service for casualty information. It is processed by modeling with UML, converting XML document by XML schema. Finally, the XML data is represented by web-based application.

  • With the advancements of the Internet and CAD data translation techniques, more CAD models are transferred from a CAD system to another through the network and interoperability is getting a common word in the CAD industry. However, when a CAD model is translated for an incompatible system into a neutral format such as STEP or IGES, its precious feature information is lost. When this feature information is lost, the advantage of feature based modeling is not valid any longer, and modification for the model is purely dependent on geometric and topological manipulations. However, the capabilities of the existing methods to modify these feature-independent models are limited as the modification involves a topological change in the model. To address this issue, we present a volumetric method to modify the solid models in neutral format. First, this method selectively decomposes the solid model to separate the portion of interest called feature volume. Next, the designer modifies the feature volume without concerning a topological change. Finally, the feature volume is united with the original solid model to complete the modification process. The results of test cases are presented to attest the usefulness of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel speech enhancement algorithm for effective noise suppression in various noisy environments. In the proposed method, to result in improved decision performance for speech and noise segments, local speech absence probability (LSAP, local SAP) based on Teager energy of noisy speech is used as the feature parameter for voice activity detection (VAD) in each frequency subband instead of conventional LSAP. In addition, The presented method utilizes global SAP (GSAP) derived in each frame as the weighting parameter for the modification of the adopted TE operator to improve the performance of TE operator. Performances of the proposed algorithm are evaluated by objective test under various environments and better results compared with the conventional methods are obtained.

  • Affective computing has gained increasing interest in the recent years with the development of potential applications in Human computer interaction (HCI) and healthcare. Although momentous research has been done on human emotion recognition, however, in comparison to speech and facial expression less attention has been paid to physiological signals. In this paper, Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals from different brain regions were investigated using modified wavelet energy features. For minimization of redundancy and maximization of relevancy among features, mRMR algorithm was deployed significantly. EEG recordings of a publically available "DEAP" database have been used to classify four classes of emotions with Multi class Support Vector Machine. The proposed approach shows significant performance compared to existing algorithms.

  • As keen marketing competition for increasing corporate image has been begun, the creative level of annual report design, which is deeply involved with investment, has became a fundamental measure of corporate value. Good commercial design has to have both practical and aesthetic aspect. For make more creative annual report project. it's worth to find world design trend in practical way. The point of study focuses and sorts on physical properties of out-put works by the view point of editorial design, and tries to find the possibility of common design style. It analyzes key message, pagination plan and feature pages of 2013 ARC awarded annual report works in interior design category. The visual image and typographic style study of awarded works will help planner and designer who develop annual report project, because this research data reduces their process. Then it's possible to have more opportunities to create project and supports background material for making a presentation for clients.

  • Frame Rate Up Conversion (FRUC) generate interpolated frames between existing frames using motion estimation and motion compensation interpolation considering temporal redundancy. Falsely-estimated FRUC, however, can generate poor quality frames because FRUC typically uses blending-based interpolation method. As skipping an interpolating process between frames generate mis-estimated motion vectors, could improve Quality of Services of FRUC. In this Paper we analyze luminance histogram and motion vector consistency in frames generating poor quality interpolated frames. We conclude these features could help to be a clue in classifying the frames, which often result in the poor quality of FRUC results through the analysis and experiment.
