커먼레일 디젤 엔진용 피에조 인젝터 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Piezo Injector Control Algorithm for CRDI Diesel Engines)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a piezo injector driver for common-rail direct injection diesel engines. In this research, we analyzed the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the piezo actuator through experiments. Current flow and charging voltage of the piezo injector are controlled by the PWM signal of variable duty ratio in order to realize both fast response and low peak current. The optimal switching duty ratio was designed by modeling and analyzing of the piezo driver circuit. In order to avoid resonance and unacceptably long settling time, appropriate frequency range of the PWM signal was derived based on the driver circuit model. The developed injector driver was validated by experiments under various fuel rail pressure, injection duration, and charging voltage.

  • 섬유강화 복합재료가 항공기, 우주 구조물, 로봇 팔 등에 널리 사용됨에 따라 복합재료의 신뢰도와 안전성을 향상시키기 위하여 이에 대한 비파괴검사법은 매우 중요한 연구분야로 대두되고 있다. AE법은 복합재의 균열, 섬유 또는 수지재의 파손, 층간분리 등의 발생 및 성장과정에서 발생되는 탄성파로 인한 스트레인 에너지를 검출하는 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 $8{\times}8$ 매트릭스형 피에조 센서를 사용하여 인장시험 하에서 발생되는 AE신호를 측정하고 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 AE신호의 전달거리를 제어할 수 있는 전용회로를 설계하고 제작하였다. 또한 64채널의 AE신호를 획득하기 위하여 발광다이오드를 사용한 광학 저장장치를 구성하였다. 실험결과, $8{\times}8$ 매트릭스형 피에조 센서를 이용하여 복합재료에서 발생되는 AE신호의 발생지점과 전파경로를 효과적으로 검출할 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 지능형 교통 시스템(ITS)의 기본 정보인 차량정보와 도로정보를 실시간으로 제공하기 위하여 루프 검지기와, 피에조 센서를 사용한 차량정보 수집 시스템의 설계를 다루었다. 루프검지기와 피에조 센서를 도로차선마다 설치하고 프로세서와 입/출력 보드를 통하여 샘플링 주기에 의하여 센서의 신호를 읽어들여 차량 및 교통정보를 생성한다. 생성된 정보는 패킷형태로 만들어져 RS232C 직렬 통신과 모뎀을 통하여 원격에 있는 교통 관제시스템으로 전송된다. 이를 위하여 EISA BUS규격의 32채널 입/출력 보드와 차량정보 수집 프로그램을 설계하고 시뮬레이션 시스템에서 확인하였다.

  • This study describes the analysis results of unsteady cavitating flows behavior inside nozzle of the prototype piezo-driven injector. This piezo-driven injector has been recognised as one of the next generation diesel injector due to a higher driven efficiency than the conventional solenoid-driven injector. The three dimensional geometry model along the central cross-section regarding of one injection hole has been used to simulate the cavitating flows for injection time by at fully transient simulation with cavitation model. The cavitation model incorporates many of the fundamental physical processes assumed to take place in cavitating flows. The simulations performed were both fully transient and 'pseudo' steady state, even if under steady state boundary conditions. We could analyze the effect the pressure drop to the sudden acceleration of fuel, which is due to the fastest response of needle, on the degree of cavitation existed in piezo-driven injector nozzle

  • Recently, studies of 3D printing methods have been working in various applications. For example, the powder base method laminates the prints by using a binding or laser sintering method. However, the draw back of this method is that the post process is time consuming and does not allow for parts to be rapidly manufactured. The binding method requires the post process while the time required for the post process is longer than the manufacturing time. This paper proposes a UV curing binding method with an integrated piezo printing head system. The optimization of an arbitrary waveform generation for the control of a UV curable resin droplet was researched, in addition to developed optimized UV curing processes in multi nozzle ink jet heads.

  • In order to meet stringent future emission regulations, especially to reduce Particulate Matter (PM) and NOX, stoichiometric diesel combustion technology with a piezo group-hole nozzle injector is being researched for reduction harmful emissions. A new nozzle layout, namely a group-hole nozzle, which has one group of small orifices with a wide spray included angle was investigated to improve the efficiency of stoichiometric diesel combustion. From this point of view, the group-hole nozzle suggested by Dense Co. is an attractive candidate method applicable to stoichiometric diesel combustion. The group-hole nozzle concept is to reduce the injector nozzle hole diameters without sacrificing spray penetration by closely locating two holes. Experimental studies have proven that the spray from group-hole nozzles have similar spray penetration to that of a single hole with equivalent overall nozzle hole area, but the spray drop sizes (SMD) are reduced, aiding vaporization and mixing.

인가전압이 디젤 피에조 인젝터의 분무 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Induced Voltage on Spray Characteristics of Piezo Actuated Diesel Injector)

  • A piezo-driven injector was applied with a purpose to evaluate the effect of induced voltage on spray characteristics. For this, injection rate, macroscopic imaging, ambient gas entrainment and particle sizing were carried out. It was shown that initial slope of injection rate was steeper as induced voltage increased, while slope of injection rate became mostly constant with fully opened needle. From macroscopoic imaging, longer spray tip penetration was produced with higher induced voltage. Moreover, wider spray angle was detected in the early stage of spray development, when higher induced voltage was applied. Ambient air entrainment rate was increased and particle size was reduced with higher induced voltage.

  • Fuel injection system greatly affects the performance of a direct injection diesel engine. A common rail injection system was introduced to satisfy the stringent emission standards, low fuel consumption, and low noise in recent years. The performance of a common-rail fuel injection system is strongly influenced by the injector characteristics. The common rail injector has evolved in order to improve its injection performance. The piezo-actuated injector is more suitable for common rail injection system due to its fast response and is expected to replace current solenoid-operated injector. In this study, nonlinear mathematical models are proposed for the solenoid-operated and the piezo-actuated injectors for control applications. Based on these models, the injection rate, which is one of the most important factors for the injection characteristics, is estimated using sliding mode observer. The simulation results and the experimental data show that the proposed sliding mode observers can effectively estimate the injection timing and the injection rate for both common-rail injectors.
