치과용 임플란트를 대상으로 하여 건전환경 및 생체 내의 인자들을 유사하게 반영한 생체유사환경 하에서 피로시험을 수행하였다. 생체유사환경으로는 링거액 환경과 인공타액환경을 각각 사용하였다. 우선 건전환경과 생체유사환경 하에서의 피로수명 및 피로한도를 평가하였다. 또한 피로수명을 향상시킬 수 있는 한 가지 방법을 제안하였다. 인공타액 하에서의 피로수명이 링거환경보다 대체적으로 감소하였다. 시편에 대한 부식작용은 인공타액이 링거액보다 훨씬 크다. 이러한 부식의 차이가 두 경우의 피로수명의 차이로 나타난 것으로 판단된다. 질화처리된 지대주 나사의 질화경화층을 제거하고, 질소확산층을 최표면으로 하는 지대주 나사를 사용한 임플란트의 피로수명은 텅스텐카바이드를 코딩한 기존 제품에 비해 최대 8배의 피로수명 향상효과가 확인되었다.

Rotary bending fatigue tests were carried out to investigate the influence of artificial defects on fatigue limit in annealed and austempered ductile iron. Obtained main results are as follows : (1) Artificial defect(micro hole type, dia.<0.4 mm) on specimen surface did not bring about a obvious reduction of fatigue limit in austempered ductile iron(ADI) as compared with annealed ductile iron. (2) According to the investigation of $\sqrt{area}_c$ which is the critical defect size to crack initiation at artificial defect, $\sqrt{area}_c$ of ADI is larger than that of annealed ductile iron. This shows that the situation of crack initiation at artificial defect in ADI is more difficult in comparison with annealed ductile iron. (3) One of the reasons for the low rate of crack initiation from artificial defect in ADI is that the resistance of matrix to crack initiation is higher than that of annealed ductile iron. (4) In case that the $\sqrt{area}$ of artificial defect and graphite nodule is the same, the rate of crack initiation from graphite nodule is higher than that from artificial defect. This reason is that the serious ruggedness around graphite nodule is formed by austempering treatment.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Korean medical treatment on six patients with burning mouth syndrome. Methods : We treated six patients with burning mouth syndrome using following treatments: Oryeong-San, acupuncture and pharmacopuncture. Numeric rating scale(NRS) of burning pain, scores of dry mouth, progression of symptoms were analyzed to evaluate the effects of treatment. Results : NRS of pain and scores of dry mouth decreased after treatment. Conclusions : This clinical study suggests that Korean medical treatment can be effective in treating Burning Mouth Syndrome.

Objectives : This study was carried out to investigate the effect of Sosiho-tang on Burning mouth syndrome of female after menopause. Methods : We treated 3 Burning mouth syndrome patients with Sosiho-tang-Based Korean Medicine. We evaluated the severity of pain and heat by using the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Results : After the treatments, all patient's objective score of Burning mouth syndrome was remarkably decreased. Conclusions : This study suggests that Sosiho-tang is effective against Burning mouth syndrome of female after menopause.

Objectives : This study covers the effects of burn treatments using oriental herbal medicine. Methods : The relevant literature was extensively investigated through domestic and international databases and finally 14 papers was selected. The literatures were systematically reviewed and 10 papers capable of quantitative analysis were meta-analyzed. Results : Oriental herbal medicines had a effect on reducing wound healing time, pain and the risk of infection and skin transplantation. Conclusions : We found that oriental herbal medicine was effective and safe for burn treatment.

Objectives : This study was carried out to report the effect of Korean medicine treatment on prurigo nodularis. Methods : We treated a 26-year-old female prurigo nodularis patient. The patient received Korean medicine treatments including acupuncture, herbal-medicine, pharmacopuncture at Daegu Haany University Korean medical hospital. We evaluated the degree of improvement in prurigo nodularis by using the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and counting nodules. Results : After treatments, the results of this patient showed improvements on pruritus, nodules. Nodules are removed, and pruritus decreased from VAS 10 to VAS 1. Conclusions : This study suggests that Korean medicine treatment may be effective on prurigo nodularis.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report the effect of Korean-western combination treatment in two patients with Herpes Zoster. Methods : During hospitalization, two patients were treated with Galgeunkilkyung-tang, acupucture, pharmacopuncture, antiviral agents, painkiller. To evaluate the effect of this treatment, we used Numeric Ration Scale(NRS) and Quality of Sleep(QSP). Results : After treatment, NRS and QSP of 2 patients were improved remarkably. Conclusions : According to the result, these finding suggest that Korean-western combination treatment can be effective for the treatment of herpes zoster.
