  • A total of 24 isolates of S. homoeocarpa were isolated from 16 golf courses in Korea. Chemical resistance of 24 isolates was determined by in vitro fungal growth on fungicide-amended media with thiophanatemethyl (Benzimidazole fungicide family), tebuconazole (demethylation inhibitor fungicide family: DMI), and iprodione (dicarboximide fungicide family). Results indicated that 83.3% of 24 isolates were resistant to iprodione, 62.5% resistant to thiophanate-methyl and 0% resistant to tebuconazale. The dual resistance of iprodione and thiophanate-methyl was 58.3.%. Occurrence rate of fungicide resistance of thiophanate-methyl and iprodione had no relation to turfgrass varieties and isolated locations of pathogen. In the filed test, procymidone, boscalid, and fluquinconazole+pyrimethanil effectively controlled the dollar spot of creeping bentgrass.

  • This study was conducted to monitor the current status of pesticide residues in a total of 297 agricultural products for raw juice from January 2017 to September 2017. Pesticide residues in samples were analyzed by multiresidue method for the determination of multiclass pesticide with an aim to detect 220 pesticides using GC/ECD, GC/NPD, TOF/MS, LC/PDA, LC/FLD, and LC/MS-MS. The analysis revealed the presence of nine pesticides in 14 samples. The detected pesticides were chlorpyrifos, cyflufenamid, chlorothalonil, pendimethalin, azoxystrobin, pyridalyl, imazalil, fludioxonil and procymidone. The kinds of detected crops were mandarin, carrot, apple, celery, chicory, orange and grape. Risk assessment evaluated human health exposure with the ratio of EDI (Estimated daily intake) to ADI (Acceptable daily intake) of pesticides detected and the range of %ADI (the ratio of EDI to ADI) values was 0.0011~6.7087% and safety level.

  • The proficiency testing for the residue laboratories of pesticide registration was conducted in order to improve the reliability and the ability for pesticide residue analysis. On October 2011 the testing was carried out using the soil collected and kept as the moistened state for five years, which is expected to very low residue levels of pesticides. The soil was fortified with chlorpyrifos, metolachlor and procymidone in a manner similar to prepare soil sample for indoor soil degradation test, and then sub-samples were prepared for the distribution to participants. Some of them were randomly selected for confirm of homogeneity and to ensure the stability of samples at room temperature. Samples were consisted of two soil treated as different levels, one of which was used to the assesment and another used to confirm. In addition, provide three standard solutions, respectively concentration of 10 mg/L, and untreated soil. Forty seven institutions submitted results. The medians of results were used as the assigned values for pesticide residues. Fitness for purpose standard deviation of proficiency test was calculated by applying 20% RSD as the coefficient of variation allowed in the soil residue test. Z-score was applied for evaluation of individual pesticides, and the average of the absolute value of the Z-score for the overall assessment of pesticides. Laboratories evaluated the absolute value of the Z-score less than 2 to fit the case of chlorpyrifos and procymidone were 44, metolachlor 40.
