In this study, a detail design was conducted for KSLV-1 1st stage Rear Fuselage Upper Compartment assembly. A basic structural sizing was done by the aircraft fuselage sizing in-house program. The frame structural design and the interface check were conducted by the FE and the CAD program. The structural margin of safety was conformed by FE analysis for the normal section model and duct cut-out section models which are the weakest parts of the rear fuselage. The shear stress analysis was performed for a fastener design of the skin-stringer which is most affected by the shear stress induced by the shear load.

In the shrink or press fitted shaft such as railway axle, fretting can occur by cyclic stress and micro-slippage due to local movement between the shaft and the hub. When the fretting occurs in the press fitted shaft, the fatigue strength remarkably decreases compared with that of without fretting. In this paper, the analysis of contact stresses in a press fitted shaft in contact with a hub was conducted by finite element method and the micro-slip according to the bending load was analyzed. It is found that the largest stress concentration and maximum slip amplitude of shrink fitted shaft are found at the edge of the interface and the distribution of contact stresses at the contact edge has largely influenced and coefficient of friction.
Fretting occurs wherever short amplitude reciprocating sliding between contacting surfaces is sustained for a large number of cycles. The fundamental characteristic of fretting is the very small amplitude of sliding and combination of different wear mechanism. Predicting wear is important to enhance reliability of the parts. The objective of this paper is to predict fretting wear by using a contact analysis considering wear process. This construction will give us important information to know a property of fretting wear.

Fully developed turbulent flow in a circular pipe and laminar boundary layer on a flat plate were measured to develop a measuring technique of the wall sheat stress using Preston tubes. New empirical formulas to extimate displacement factor of Preston tube obtained through the present study. The displacement factor for turbulent flow was considerably different from that for the laminar flow. Measured wall shear stress was not pretty dependent on the displacement factor for Preston tubes in the inertia sublayer of turbulent boundary layer, however was considerably affected in the laminar boundary layer. Measuring error of skin friction using the CPM technique was 3% for turbulent and 5% for thin laminar boundary layers.

In this paper, strain and stress on space frame are analyzed at racing car under crash loads. As the deformation is reduced to a minimum during crash and the vulnerable parts are grasped, the safety of driver is ensured. The vehicle frame is modelled with truss structure by inputting the material property of carbon steel on finite element analysis. The increase of impulse momentum is due to speed change at frontal collision. This influence effected on vehicle frame is also analyzed by ANSYS program. The deformation of the frame is studied by applying the crash loads at front, side and rear directions. Though the influence on the seat of driver is small at frontal and rear crash, the deformation due to impact is progressed into this seat. The safety of frame is enhanced by making up for these weak deformations and these results of simulation analysis can be applied to the production of the actual vehicle frame.
Settlement induced by low -level vibration on granular soils is too complect to predict with one or two fact ors. Factors affecting vibration induced settlement were investigated, and a settlement prediction model on granular soils was developed using multifactorial experimental design(MED). Factors such as vibration amplitude, deviatoric stress, confining pressure, soil gradation, duration of vibration, moisture content, and relative density were considered in this study. A special vibratory frame was designed to shake a soil specimen within a triaxial cell. MED allowed the authors to investigate the effect of many factors using a relatively small number of experiments. The most significant factors on settlement were vibrati on amplitued, confining pressure, and defiatoric stress. Comparable settlement was occurred even under low-level vibration ranging from 2.5 to 18mm1sec, and stress am sotropy was found to be an important factor on settlement.
The single carbon fiber tensile test was performed with electrical resistance measurement. Tensile property of single carbon fiber which accompanied by the relationship between the electric resistance and the strain was investigated. Since the collected data showed a linear relationship between them, the coefficient of fiber slip ratio (FSR) was obtained by computation. The fragmentation specimen (FS) was tested under tensile loading, and the single carbon fiber broke first due to the stress transferring form matrix to reinforcing fiber. The stress distribution of carbon fiber could be observed via the electrical resistance change. Slipping between carbon fiber and matrix was predicted based on the fragmentation test results, and the FSR was used to evaluate interfacial adhesion comparatively. The large FSR indicated poor interfacial bonding. Work of adhesion between carbon fiber and matrix was measured to verify the FSR method, and two results exhibited a consistent conclusion.
