  • The purpose of this study is to understand the Tecktonik culture and fashion, and to compare its features in Korea and France. Unlike prior studies which mainly dealt with subcultures in the U. S. and the U. K., this study paid attention to the condition of Korea. Tecktonik is a dance and music craze that originated in France in 2000, and spread worldwide via the Internet. The main features of Tecktonik fashion are slim fit, vivid colors, and high-top sneakers, which represent current fashion and culture trends, and express the feeling of Tecktonik music and dance. Compared to France, Korean Tecktonik fashion emphasizes sexual attraction of women with short skirt, while men are conservative about mohican hairstyle and dark make-up. In France, Tecktonik has become a sound social amusement, while in Korea it has been used for advertisements or entertainer's fashion style. The subcultural characteristics of Tecktonik were identified as playfulness, the active use of digital media, and high commercial value. In France where Tecktonik is for participating in a joyful dance, playfulness is prominent, and in Korea where Tecktonik acts as a visual entertainment, commercial value is outstanding. It has made differences in Tecktonik fashion of the two countries.

  • The first organization of the 'national Archives of France' was defined by a law voted during the Revolution, the law of June 25, 1794 which is remained into force during nearly two century-until with the law of January 3, 1979. This law is regarded as the text founder of the national Archives of France, mainly thanks to its article 48 which posed the principle of the free communicability of the whole of the documents of national Archives of France. But it had initially as an aim to organize and frame sortings of the documents gathered in great number since the beginning of the French revolution. Its principal provision does not leave astonish us: it envisaged a separation between the documents to be eliminated, the useful documents has the administration, only intended to be preserved in national Archives of France?, and the documents interesting for the history, which were intended for the national Library.

  • Due to the challenging physical access of data and the abstraction of the old map, the study of the old map, which is owned by overseas collections, is limited. Therefore, it is necessary to include more detailed and professional characteristics in the bibliography or description elements, and to provide information that is helpful for the study of the old map through many ways. In this study, the elements of the old map based upon the system of the Haejushinbon were analyzed and added to the description elements of the old map for studying the Korean old map system. Fifty six description elements in 8 areas from the analysis were applied to 「Yeongyeondo」 in the French National Library, a major old map located overseas that was not well known in Korea. In conclusion, additional description elements of the old map were proposed to enhance accessibility and utilization of old map research.

  • Places such as famous urban sights and foreign settlements have recently been created in Korea, which reflects the increase in social and cultural exchanges and the number of place-making and landscape-planning projects. Understanding place identity is required in environmental design and planning. This paper examined the components of the identity of place through comparison of perceptions of "placeness" between residents and visitors of Seo-Rae Village, Seoul, Korea. More than 40% of French nationals in Korea reside in the village, which many Koreans visit as an urban sightseeing place. Twenty-five French inhabitants and forty-one Korean visitors were surveyed. Insideness of Seo-Rae Village was formed by limited activities and needs of the residents, primarily children's education and food purchases. Residents mentioned that the physical environment, especially buildings, lacked theauthenticity of French style. The symbolic meaning of the French village influenced the visitors' activities. The authenticity of French style, however, did not affect the perception of visitors and outsideness of the place. Visitors' activities and cognitive meanings of the place were formed mainly by the commercial environment established by Korean investments. Commercialization of the place and related activities played an important role in establishing insideness of the place. The village shows the phenomenon of the reversal of insideness and outsideness. The "placeness" of Seo-Rae village has been shaped by visitors' tastes rather than the true experience of insideness. Mass identity formed by mass media using French characteristics influenced this phenomenon. Insideness formed by inhabitants appeared to be a pseudo-place, which was created by the French tastes of visitors and lacked French authenticity. Seo-Rae Villagerepresents a superficial cloak.

  • In Bouin polder, one of the oyster culture zone on landbase in France, artificial substrate was suspended every week to study the variation of the biomass of benthic microalgae as the chlorophyll a. The meteorological and physico-chemical factors in sea water were studied by analysing the correlationship, correlation circle and principal component of these factors. Among the meteorological factors such as insolation, precipitation and wind, insolation was one of the most prominant factors associated with the increase of water temperature, salinity, pH and biomass but with the decrease of turbidity, dissolved oxygen and nitrate. Nitrate was the main contributor for the variation of biomass among the other nutrient components, while phosphate and silicate increased in summer when the biomass increased.
