Kurye-gun, which Hwaeomsa temple is located, has huge scale's geographical characteristics, such as mountains, rivers and open fields. This is really blessing area because of Som-jin river at the bottom of Ghiri mountain and open fields, which this situation is very difficult. The location of Hwaeomsa temple is an end of The Baek-Doo Mountains and very important spot(where influences to its geometric converge) of the theory of feng-shui. On exposure logic of the Korean traditional theory of feng-shui, the organization in Ga-Ram of Hwaeomsa temple is inconsistent with representative theory and analyzing system. So, this is one of successful examples with the theory of feng-shui because exhalation from the earth and water was organized well with accuracy.

풍수는 그동안 한국의 전통적인 지리학, 지리사상 또는 환경관 등으로 이해되어 왔다. 특히 그것은 거시적, 미시적 차원의 제 입지요소를 고려하는 전통적 입지론 또는 공간배치의 원리로서 제 학문분과에서의 그 현대적 수용가능성과 관련하여 주목받고 있는 것도 사실이다. 그런데, 지표상의 제 지리적 현상 중 특히 역사적 경관이나 장소 등에 관심 갖는 현대지리학의 입장에서 그것의 풍수와의 관련성을 배제할 수 없다고 할 때, 자칫 신비의 범주로 분류되곤 하는 풍수를 어떻게 관련지을 수 있는가의 문제는 그렇게 간단한 것이 아니다. (중략)

This contribution studied constructional intentions, ideas, thought and aesthetic consciousness of Joseon Royal Tombs regarding its location, spatial organization and elements. A literature investigation and a field study have been carried out, and the royal tombs of the Goryeo Dynasty and the Shilla Dynasty also have been studied to look for the its origins. The outcomes are as follows. The tomb's system of Joseon Royal Tombs inherited the King Gongmin's Tomb of the Goryeo Dynasty of Buddhism, but they have their own characteristics in a spatial organization and elements involved in Confucianism, Taoism, not only Buddhism. In the aspect of location, Joseon Royal Tombs followed the Feng-shu geometric principle to find a land that have a mountain in the back, and a river in the front. Spatial plan was carried out with Confucianism to apply the order of rank. Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism are shown with the elements such as architecture, landscape architecture, stone objects, and historical forest being connected each other. Especially, constructional intentions, ideas, thought and aesthetic consciousness are connected with the people in Joseon Royal Tombs through the ritual ceremony of Confucianism.

The Landscape of the Bibo Geomancy is generally showed in Korean traditional settlement. The tradition of the Bibo Geomancy was given much weight in the Korean geographic history of life, so it could be a important research theme. The discussion in my dissertation, 1 insist on that, a comment of the Bibo together with a comment of the selection of proper sites composed as axis in Korean geomancy. As a grounds basis of an argument, 1 described on the concept and the composition of the Bibo Geomancy, the backgrounds of the theory, the historical changes of the Bibo Geomancy in Korea, the form and the function of the Bibo and the comparison with the Bibo-Geomancy of the north-east Asia.
