Analysis of Load on the Hybrid Tower and Cost Effectiveness of the Wind Turbine (풍력발전용 하이브리드 타워 하중영향 및 경제성 분석)

  • With the development of wind industry, rated power of the wind turbine also increases gradually. Accordingly, size of the wind turbine tower is becoming larger. Tower base diameter of the 2MW wind turbine is about 4m. Larger tower is expected for 4MW or 5MW turbines. Due to limitation of transportation, new type of tower with smooth transportation and effective cost is needed. In this work, a hybrid tower consisting of steel and concrete is designed and analyzed. The optimum ratio of steel and concrete of the hybrid tower is calculated as well as the thickness of the concrete part. Different FE analysis including modal analysis, buckling analysis and static analysis are performed to check the design of hybrid tower comparing with the steel tower. Redesign is also expected after various analyses.

Railway Switching Point Heating System Using the Photovoltaic-Wind Power Hybrid (태양광-풍력 하이브리드를 이용한 철도 선로전환기 융설 장치 구현)

  • This paper proposes the method to implement the railroad switching point heating system using the hybrid of the photovoltaic and wind power. The goal of the implementation of the railroad switching point heating system is to prevent freezing of the snow in the winter. The heating system of railway used to supply electricity through photovoltaic and wind power to prevent freezing. Hot wires of the railroad switching point heating system are used about 2kW of electric energy at the day. The electric energy of 2kW used the length of the hot wires about 3m. As the ON and/or OFF mode considering the tracks temperature and the ambient temperature, so the way the use of power-saving effect. In addition, the system can be used the railroad switching point heating system in winter and railway signal and street lights around the track in summer. In experiment, we acquired the power data according to time at the day of photovoltaic and wind power. We confirmed the temperature rise using the heating cable for 3m of $85^{\circ}C$, 30W/m. The temperature rise of the heating cable changes the temperature of $5^{\circ}C$ after 10 minutes and $11^{\circ}C$ after 10 minutes. We have confirmed the possibility of the railroad switching point heating system using the hybrid of the photovoltaic and wind power.

  • Recently, the use of renewable energy has been increasing to achieve carbon neutrality. The concept of a zero-energy building is also attracting attention. In this study, a preliminary study was conducted to analyze the feasibility of a hybrid wind and solar power generation system between buildings that utilize the building wind generated by the Venturi effect. For this purpose, the wind speed and sunshine hours were monitored in the area where the building wind blows by the Venturi effect, and the power generation depending on system types, areas, and season was estimated. Consequently, the wind power generation system showed a larger amount of power per area than solar power. The wind power systems can generate larger power if wind power blades are installed along the height of the building. As a preliminary study, this study verified the feasibility of the system utilizing building wind and suggested follow-up studies.

  • This paper describes the design and integration of the wind- fuel cell hybrid system. The hybrid system components included a wind turbine, an electrolyzer (for generation of H2), a PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell), storage system and BOP (Balance of Plant) system. The energy input is entirely provided by a wind turbine. A DC-DC converter controls the power input to the electrolyzer, which produces hydrogen and oxygen form water. The hydrogen used the fuel for the PEMFC. The hydrogen is compressed and stored in high pressure tank by hydrogen gas booster system.

  • 풍력블레이드는 가벼워야 하며 강도면에서 신뢰성이 확보되어야한다. 최근 들어 복합소재를 적용한 블레이드가 많이 선보이고 있다. 현재 가장 많이 사용되는 유리섬유/에폭시는 경제성 및 강도면에서 우수하여 많이 사용되어왔다. 본 논문에서는 유리섬유(80%)-탄소섬유(20%)/에폭시를 사용하여 강도를 높이고 무게를 경감시켜 효율을 증가시키고자 연구하였다. 국내 풍황에 적합한 1kW급 풍력블레이드의 Airfoil을 개발하여 강도를 평가하고 블레이드를 최적화 설계하였다. 유리섬유(80%)-탄소섬유(20%)가 적용된 복합재를 적층방법에 따라 실험하고 이를 블레이드 강도평가에 적용하였으며 FSI (Fluid-Structure Interaction)를 사용하였다. 이를 통해 블레이드의 무게경감 및 강도가 향상되었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 발전 시스템에서의 최대 전력 추종을 위한 디지털 퍼지 제어기 설계를 목표로 한다. 하이브리드 발전 시스템은 풍력과 태양광, 두 개의 발전 시스템으로 구성된다. 각 발전기에서 전압과 전류는 일반적으로 비선형 관계에 있기 때문에, 퍼지 모델 기반 제어기를 사용하여 비선형성을 효율적으로 제어하게 된다. 그리고 마이크로프로세서 기반 제어 시스템의 구축을 위하여 최신 디지털 재설계 기법을 사용, 디지털 퍼지 제어기를 설계하게 된다. 마지막으로 제안된 플랜트를 통한 실험으로써 본 논문의 우수성을 입증하고자 한다.

  • 최근 화석연료 고갈 문제를 해결하기 위해 대체에너지 개발과 다양한 형태의 에너지 개발에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 특히, supercapacitor는 high energy density, high power density, longer life-time과 같은 특성으로 인해 에너지 저장 소자로 각광 받고 있다. Supercapacitor는 석유를 대체할 수 있으며 이산화탄소 배출이 없는 친환경 에너지인 태양광, 풍력, 수소연료전지 등의 신재생에너지 저장장치로써 큰 비중을 차지한다. Supercapacitor의 종류인 electrical double layer capacitors (EDLCs) 는 전극과 전해질 사이에 발생하는 전기 이중층에 축적되는 전하를 이용하여 에너지를 저장하는 반응 메커니즘을 가지며 전극 재료로는 탄소 소재를 사용한다. 탄소 소재는 환경 오염이 적고 가격이 저렴하며 넓은 표면적이라는 장점이 있다. 하지만 기존 탄소 소재는 이러한 장점을 가지지만 supercapacitor로써의 효율이 좋지 않게 나온다. 이런 문제를 개선하기 위하여 그래핀 나노플레이트(Graphene nanoplate, GNP) 위에 직접 탄소나노튜브(Carbon nanotube, CNT)를 성장 시킴으로써 GNP-CNT 하이브리드 탄소 소재를 제조하여 전극으로 사용하였다. 이 GNP-CNT 하이브리드 탄소 소재는 다차원 구조를 가짐으로써 기존 탄소 소재들보다 분산이 잘되고 전해질과의 작용하는 비표면적이 넓다. 전극을 제작하여 Cyclic voltammetry(CV)와 galvano를 측정한 결과는 기존 탄소나노튜브보다 5배 정도의 정전용량(Capacitance)를 가졌다. 이 전극의 구조적 특성을 관찰하기 위해 SEM, TEM 등을 측정하였다.

  • The majority of electric power in the domestic manned islands with off-grid power system is supplied by the diesel generators. However, in the case of off-grid islands the fuel cost is more expensive to inland areas and difficult to transport them to islands. So the development of renewable energy system using natural resource have been recently introduced. But renewable energy that depend on the natural environment, it is necessary to organized the hybrid system with existing diesel engine because the energy is difficult to maintain stable electric power. This paper presents the results of a feasibility study of hybrid system with energy storage system such as wind, solar, battery and diesel engine. The study included off-grid island as the Seogeochado islands located in Jeolanamdo Province. And, the paper proposed a optimal capacity of hybrid system configuration to maintain carbon free with minimum investment cost. the analysis of economic adaptability performed by HOMER program.
