  • 국내 최고의 브랜드와 상품 패키지디자인을 선정하는 '제27회 2021 베스트 브랜드 & 패키지 디자인 어워즈(The 26th Best Brand & Package Design Awards)' 수상작이 지난 2월 15일 발표되었다. (사)한국상품문화디자인학회(회장 이해만)와 한국경제신문사가 공동주최한 이번 어워즈에서는 (주)유라이크코리아의 '라이브케어 바이오캡슐'이 베스트 브랜드 & 패키지디자인 종합대상을 수상했다. 또한 제품디자인 부문은 삼성전자(주) '비스포크 냉장고', 패키지디자인 부문은 (주)롯데푸드 '쉐푸드 HMR', 브랜드디자인 부문은 종근당건강(주) 'CKD Guaranteed', 감성디자인 부문은 CJ올리브영(주) '올리브영 맴버십기프트(VIP KIT)', 그래픽디자인 부문은 (주)유한양행 '와이즈바이옴 위&장 듀얼케어' 등이 수상의 영예를 안았다. 베스트 브랜드 & 패키지 디자인 어워즈는 브랜드와 패키지 디자인에 관한 연구와 학술활동을 지속해온 한국상품문화디자인학회에서 기업들의 상품개발 의욕과 디자인 역량 강화를 위해 1995년부터 진행하고 있다. 다음에 '제27회 베스트 브랜드 & 패키지디자인 어워즈' 수상작을 살펴보도록 한다.

The Effect of Package Gloss on Purchase Intention: Mediating Role of Perceived Corporate Eco-friendliness and Perceived Quality (패키지 광택이 제품 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 기업 친환경성 인식과 품질인식의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the gloss of a product's packaging on purchase intention and the mediating role of perceived corporate eco-friendliness and perceived quality in food area. The participants were randomly assigned to product package condition (glossy vs. matte) and after observing ketchup and potato chips, they responded to questions on about perceived corporate eco-friendliness, perceived quality, and purchase intention. The participants reported their opinion that companies that manufactured matte package products would likely use more organic ingredients and would be more eco-friendly than companies that manufactured glossy package products. The more the participants perceived a company to be eco-friendly, the better they evaluated the company's product quality and the higher their purchase intention. This study has theoretical and practical implications, in that it extends the study of the product package in relation to its effect on corporate image, and it proposes a practical use of matte product package for improving the eco-friendly image of the company. Limitations and further research were also discussed.

Trend Analysis of Food Coordination-related Studies Conducted from 2000 to 2008 (국내 푸드 코디네이션 관련 연구의 동향 분석 - 2000~2008년 논문을 중심으로 -)

  • The concept of food coordination was introduced at the end of the 1990s and has generated a great deal of interest until now. However, no standard for the classification of such studies has been established yet. This study was conducted to examine the trends in food coordination studies published from 2000 to 2008. To accomplish this, approximately 335 food coordination articles were reviewed. Classification based on content analysis and the document review were conducted based on study themes(subjects), study forms, study designs, places of application, survey area and sample types. The most important type of study identified in this review was study themes. The themes of the study were divided into the following 10 subjects: 1) studies on the definition and recognition of food coordination, 2) studies on the environment, 3) studies on colors and package designs, 4) studies on table setting, table manner and etiquette, 5) studies on photography, editorial design, identity design and menu, 6) studies on components of dining atmosphere display and table/glass ware, 7) studies on emotions and sensibility, the five senses and food coordination, 8) studies on human resources, 9) studies on reviews, food & culture and education, 10) studies on purchasing, consumer behavior and marketing. The most common subjects were the components of dining atmosphere display and table/glass ware(23.6%). In addition, 17% of the articles reviewed were conducted to study colors and package designs, 14.6% to evaluate purchasing and consumer behavior and marketing, 13.4% to evaluate the environment, and 9.6% to study food & culture and education. Overall, these five subjects accounted for more than 75% of the articles reviewed.

  • Design is a fatal factor to differentiate and survive one product from the other in fierce competition of the market, when other conditions such as price or quality makes no much difference. Among many marketing tools, package design is known as a direct communication that visualizes and forms the very initial brand image of a product. Package design is not only for packing, transporting, storing and loading but for engraving the brand image in a consumers' mind and lead them to purchasing. One of recent package design trands is various ways of using character, not just as a printed image on the surface but as a part of three dimensional structure of package. If it succeed, the package design could give out the secondary fun and impact to the consumers. The package design with an effective character is itself a great marketing tool and valuable design asset, which can bring a further profit to the company. Especially, character-package can be a powerful and effective marketing method for various local products, in needs of further publication and sales with limited cost. It should motivate the sales of the products by grabbing their attention and taken as a souvenir. This research takes a character package as a useful marketing method for a local brand in Jeonju, South Korea, and tries to design a three dimensional package using its own character. Through the process, the research aims to propose an important design strategy for repositioning or enhancing an existing brand.

The Effect of Employees' Social Regard on Service Loyalty: Comparative Approach of Beauty Services and Fast-food Services in Service Settings (종업원의 고객에 대한 배려행동이 서비스 충성도에 미치는 영향: 미용실서비스와 패스트푸드서비스의 비교적 접근)

  • This paper examined the influence of employees' social regard toward the customers, such as, overall service quality, service satisfaction, and service loyalty. The paper proves that the high contact beauty services and the low contact fast-food services have different customer satisfaction level depending on the employees' social regards. A survey study was conducted to collect the data with the actual service purchasers at domestic beauty services and fast-food services. Analysis of structural equation modeling with Amos 18.0 was performed to test the research hypothesis. The results of the study are as follows: First, social regard has positive influences on service quality, service satisfaction, and service loyalty. Second, Social regard has more effect on service satisfaction in a high contact beauty services than in a low contact fast-food services. This paper contribute to identify the effects of employees' social regard on service satisfaction, by comparing the effects on service satisfaction between high and low contact services.
