Rapid Determination of Ginsenosides Rb1, Rf, and Rg1 in Korean Ginseng Using HPLC (HPLC를 이용한 고려인삼 중 진세노사이드 Rb1, Rf 및 Rg1의 신속분석 방법 개발)

  • A simple gradient HPLC method for rapid determination of major ginsenosides ($Rg_1$ and $Rb_1$) and unique ginsenoside (Rf) of Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) was developed. Within 50min, three ginsenosides have been separated and identified on $\mu$-Bondapak $C_{18}$ column ($3.9{\times}300\;mm$, $10{\mu}m$) with gradient elution using water and acetonitrile as a mobile phase. The method was validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, and precision. The correlation coefficients ($r^2$) for calibration curves of ginsenosides were over 0.9997. The developed HPLC method was successfully applied to the analysis of ginseng samples and the recoveries of ginsenosides were in the range of $101.1{\sim}115%$ with RSD<3.2%. The developed method could be used for rapid evaluation of the ginsenosides $Rg_1$, $Rb_1$, and Rf.

  • In Seoul, more than 80 percent of residential buildings are constructed with unreinforced masonry(URM) buildings in early 1970 to 1990. In general, URM buildings have the advantages of reducing the construction time and easy to construction. However, URM buildings do not have enough strength against the lateral force. Moreover, low rise buildings have not adopted seismic designs, and for that reason a critical damage is expected with an earthquake. And also, the necessity of the seismic performance evaluation of existing building structures is raised through the Taiwan earthquake in 1999. The purpose of this study is to provide basic information for unreinforced masonry building in Korea by application of the proposed seismic evaluation method. In this study, seismic capacities of 50 existing unreinforced masonry buildings are evaluated based on the proposed method. Also, relationships of seismic capacities between Korean earthquake damage ratios of korean unreinforced masonry buildings are estimated. Results of this study were as follows; 1)Seismic retrofit was needed $8{\sim}48%$ in Korean unreinforced masonry buildings. 2)Korean unreinforced masonry buildings were expected to have severe damage under the earthquake intensity level experienced in Japan.

  • Modeling of stock prices forecast has been considered as one of the most difficult problem to develop accurately since stock prices are highly correlated with various environmental conditions including economics and political situation. In this paper, we propose a agent system approach to predict Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) using neural network and statistical methods. To minimize mean of prediction error and variation of prediction error, agent system includes sub-agent modules for feature extraction, variables selection, forecast engine selection, and forecasting results analysis. As a first step to develop agent system for KOSPI forecasting, twelve economic indices are selected from twenty two basic standard economic indices using principal component analysis. From selected twelve economic indices, prediction model input variables are chosen again using best-subsets regression method. Two different types data are tested for KOSPI forecasting and the Prediction results showed 11.92 points of root mean squared error for consecutive thirty days of prediction. Also, it is shown that proposed agent system approach for KOSPI forecast is effective since required types and numbers of prediction variables are time-varying, so adaptable selection of modeling inputs and prediction engine are essential for reliable and accurate forecast model.

Confirmation of Schizandrin as a Marker Compound in Jangsu Omija Powder (HPLC를 이용한 기능성 원료 지표성분으로서 장수 오미자 분말 중 Schizandrin의 분석법 개발)

  • We studied the development of schizandrin as a marker compound in Jangsu Omija. Schizandrin was validated for its LOD (limit of detection), LOQ (limit of quantitation), precision, accuracy, and recovery by HPLC relative to Omija powder. It showed a high linearity in the calibration curve with a coefficient of correlation ($R^2$) of 0.9990. The LOD and LOQ were 0.2 ${\mu}g/mL$ and 0.5 ${\mu}g/mL$, respectively. The intra- and inter-day precision of schizandrin calibration standards was 0.06~0.66% and 0.13~1.19%, respectively, and the intra- and inter-day accuracy of schizandrin was 98.35~103.30% and 98.35~103.00%, respectively. Overall, schizandrin was validated through our analytical methods as a marker compound in Jangsu Omija.

Validation of an analytical method of dieckol for standardization of Ecklonia cava extract as a functional ingredient (감태추출물의 기능성원료 표준화를 위한 지표성분 dieckol의 분석법 검증)

  • An HPLC analysis method was developed and standardized for the detection of dieckol as a functional food ingredient in Ecklonia cava extracts. HPLC was performed using a Capcell Pak C18 column ($250{\times}4.6mm$, $5{\mu}m$) with a gradient elution of water and acetonitrile, both containing 0.1% (v/v) trifluoroacetic acid, at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min at $25^{\circ}C$. The eluate was detected at 230 nm. For validation, the specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, limit of detection (LOD), and limit of quantification (LOQ) of dieckol were measured. The calibration curve for the detection of dieckol had high linearity ($R^2=0.9994$), with LOD and LOQ values of 0.38 and $1.16{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. Recovery of the quantified compound ranged from 99.61 to 100.71%. The relative standard deviation values of the intra-day and inter-day precisions were less than 1.7 and 1.25%, respectively. These results indicate that the reported HPLC method is simple, reliable, and reproducible for the detection of dieckol in Ecklonia cava extracts.

  • One of recent topics in the case of hepatits B virus(HVB) is the value of hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg) concentration as a prognostic maker. We developed uantitative method of rapid immunochromatographic assay(ICA) kit for HBsAg using computer image analysis (CIA) for the purpose of home diagnosis. uantitative ICA using CIA demonstrated integrated optical density(IOD) values proportional to log of reference HBsAg concentrations in the range of 2-200 ng/mL and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) demonstrated the same in the range of 0.1-100 ng/mL however the test results with sample sear showed the same concentration on both kits. Furthermore repeated tests with the same samples revealed that this quantitative ICA using CIA would be reproducible and coefficient of variation(CV) of the results was 1.38~6.30%.

  • In this paper, we provide a summary on the core essence of INR (Image Navigation and Registration) System technology which is an essential function of geostationary remote sensing satellites. Its origin and evolution history is reviewed, its core elements and governing concept for each element are described, and a generic INR architecture is suggested which can cover all seemingly conceivable INR systems of the past, the current and the future. By this, we intend to identify and illuminate the core technical contents and the key aspects in the foreseen prospect of the up-coming INR systems and the related technologies.

  • The Korean government developed an organizational maturity model for public data quality management based on international standards to evaluate the data quality management level of public organizations, However, as the model has too many indicators to apply on the site, a new model with reduced number of indicators is proposed in this paper. First, the number of processes is reduced by integrating and modifying the processes of the previous model. Second, a new maturity evaluation method is proposed based on capability levels focused on the activity, not on the process. Third, the maturity level of public data quality management is represented by five discrete levels or real values of 1 through 5. Finally, characteristics of the proposed model are compared with those of the previous model.

An Analysis Study on Correlation Between Academic Background and Information Culture Index (학력과 정보문화지수와의 상관관계 분석연구)

  • In the present knowledge and information society, every citizen can enjoy benefits of various advanced technologies such as information and communication technology(ICT) and smart technology. Nowadays everybody has to have some level of information literacy and application ability in order to enjoy benefits from various advanced technologies. In additions, knowledge and practice will about information and communication ethics are also required for all. Currently we need some kind of standards to evaluate and model everybody's information literacy and application capability. In this sense, information culture index has been developed to check information literacy and application capability of every citizen for various aspects of daily life. Information culture index consists of three standards, that is, application, awareness, and norm, respectively. Application standard indicates how information contents and skills are generalized for all. In other words, it is concerned with how every citizen can understand information literacy and use information skills in his or her daily life. Awareness standard is concerned with how well everyone can respect and trust others in the current information culture community. Norm standard is concerned with how everyone can use information communication services according to his or her desirable sense of information and communication ethics. The purpose of this paper is to analyze correlation between academic background and three standards of information culture index, that is, application, awareness, and norm. For this purpose, we use 2-year national survey works for information culture. After thorough statistical analysis, we can conclude that, awareness and norm standards do not show a meaningful correlation with academic background while application standard shows a meaningful correlation with academic background, It means that, the higher academic background one has, the higher application standard one can achieve. We expect that our correlation analysis results can be helpful to spread of information education and information culture in the future.

  • IT기술기반 교육시스템은 인터넷 등장 이전에도 가능성을 인정받아 지속적으로 개발되어 온 분야이며, 교육공학과의 연계로 지식 전날의 이론체계로 각광을 받고 있다. 사이버교유도 인터넷이전부터 다양한 통신방법을 응용하여 개발되었고, 최근 인터넷을 통하여 사이버 교육시스템은 완벽한 기술기반을 갖추게 되였다. 그러나 IT기술의 급격한 변화로 사이버교육시스템은 계속하여 신기술 변화에 적용해야만 한다. 현재 정보통신기술의 변화는 방송 통신망의 융합, 브로드 밴드 네트워킹, 스마트 디바이스의 다양화, 멀티미디어 기술의 고도화로 요약된다. 이 기술의 종합한 작용으로 유비쿼터스 사회의 기반으로 진화되고 있다. 그래서 e-Learning 분야도 기존 인터넷기반 시스템과는 달리 차세대 온라인교육시스템으로 친화되고 있다. IT융합가술 기반의 온라인 교육시스템은 각종 국제표준단체에서 표준안이 제시되고 있다. e-Learning 시스템이란 선기술 기반을 반영한 표준기술을 사용하는 온라인교육시스템을 포괄하는 개념이다. 본 연구에서는 e-Learning 시스템과 유비쿼터스 기술을 반영한 e-Learning을 비교하였다. 그리고 u-Learning 시스템의 기술정립과 EOD(Education On Demand) 시스템에 대하여 연구하였다. 1. u-Learning 정의 정보산업분야를 비롯한 문화, 교육 등 모든 분야에서 유비퀴터스라는 수식어가 붙어 다니고 있다. e- Learning 교육 업계에 따르면 10년 후에는 유비쿼터스는 대중화가 될 것이며, 부가가치 규모는 100조 원에 이를 것으로 추정된다. 그래서 교육산업도 주변 환경이 아날로그 방식에서 IT 기반에 의한 디지털 환경으로 변화되고 있다. 또한 e러닝, T러닝, m러닝, u러닝 등의 용어가 생성되고 있다.키지에어컨에서 사용되고 있는 밀폐형 압축기에 대해서 그림 2에서 나타내고 있는 냉방능력 10tons(120,000Btu/h) 이하를 중심으로 상기의 최근 기술 동향을 간략하게 소개하고자 한다.질표준의 지표성분으로 간주되는 진세노사이드의 절대함량과 그 성분조성 차이에 따른 임상효과의 차별성이 있는지에 대한 검토와, 특히 최근 실험적으로 밝혀지고 있는 사포닌 성분의 장내 세균에 의한 생물전환체의 인체 실험을 통한 효과 검정이 필요하다. 나아가서는 적정 복용량의 설정과 이와 관련되는 생체내 동태 및 생체이용율(bioavilability)에 관한 정보가 거의 없으므로 이것도 금후 검토해야 할 과제로 사료된다. 인삼은 전통약물로서 오랜 역사성과 그동안의 연구결과에 의한 과학성을 가지고 있으므로 건강유지와 병의 예방 및 회복촉진을 위한 보조요법제 또는 기능성 식품으로써의 유용성이 있는 것으로 판단된다. 앞으로 인삼의 활용성 증대를 위해서는 보다 과학적인 임상평가에 의한 안전성 및 유효성 입증과 제품의 엄격한 품질관리의 필요성이 더욱 강조되어야 할 것이다.xyl radical 생성 억제 효과를 보여 주었다. 본 실험을 통하여 BHT 를 제외하고 전반적으로 세포 수준에서의 oxidative stress 에 대한 억제 효과를 확인해 볼 수 있었으며 특히 수용성 항산화제들에서 두드러진 효과를 보여 주었다. 제공하여 내수기반 확충에도 노력해야 할 것 이다.있었다., 인삼이 성장될 때 부분적인 영양상태의 불충분이나 기후 등에 따른 영향을 받을 수 있기 때문에 앞으로 이에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어져야할 것으로 판단된다.태에도 불구하고 [-wh]의미의 겹의문사는 병렬적 관계의 합성어가 아니라 내부구조를 지니지 않은 단순한 단어(minimal $X^{0}$<
