This study was conducted to investigate nursing students' safety-climate: perception and performance of standard precautions for healthcare-associated infection control. We also identified actors influencing performance of standard precautions. Data were collected from 246 junior and senior nursing students at nine colleges in D city from July to September, 2016. The mean score of performance was significantly lower than that of perception in all areas of standard precautions. The biggest difference between perception and performance was in the usage of personal protective equipment and safe injection practices. We also detected significant positive correlations among safety-climate, perception, and performance of standard precautions. In the regression analysis, performance of standard precautions was influenced by safety-climate and grade accounting for 10.7% of variance. To improve healthcare-associated infection control among nursing students, safer and more supportive practical environments need to be provided, and new training strategies such as simulation education need to be expanded.
The purpose of this study was to find the effects of ethical awareness about pandemic and health beliefs of standard precaution on performance standard precaution of nursing students. The survey was performed on 163 nursing students in three universities. Data were collected using a structured questionnaires and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with SPSS 25.0 program. Study findings revealed that performance standard precautions was significantly correlated with ethical awareness about pandemic(r=.17, p=.033), perceived susceptibility(r=.33, p<.001), perceived severity (r=.24, p=.003), perceived benefits(r=.35, p<.001) and perceived obstruction(r=-.31, p<.001). The factors that had the influences on performance standard precaution were the perceived benefits(β=.20, p=.014)) and perceived obstruction(β=-.20, p=.008). And the explanation power of the regression model appeared as being 18.1%(F=8.09, p<.001). It is necessary to develop a systematic infection education program that considers ethical awareness, and perceived severity and obstruction among health beliefs of standard precaution to improve performance standard precaution of nursing students.
The purpose of this study was to explore and describe the relationship of the perception of patient safety culture, knowledge of standard precaution and performance of standard precaution among long-term care hospital nurses. Participants were 134 nurse in long-term hospital. Data were collected with structured questionnaires from January 2 to June 4, 2018. Data were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 21.0 program for descriptive statistics t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The perception of patient safety culture were significantly correlated with knowledge of standard precaution(r=.192, p=.027), performance of standard precaution(r=211, p=.014). Therefore, in order to enhance the perception of patient safety culture and performance of standard precaution of long-term care hospital nurses, it would be necessary to enable health-care associated infections by themselves by cultivating standard precaution knowledge through systemic education and by enabling the establishment of affirmative patient safety culture.

Results: The total score for knowledge of standard precautions was 24.69. The average for performance of standard precautions was 3.70 on a scale of 4 and nursing professionalism was an average of 4.12 on a scale of 5. Factors affecting nursing professionalism included gender(β=-.21, p=.002), knowledge of standard precautions(β=.13, p=.044), and performance of standard precautions(β=.27, p=<.001). The explanatory power of the model was 13.1%. Conclusions: Results of this study suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply an clinical educational program that can promote knowledge and performance of standard precautions to enhance the positive nursing professionalism of nursing students.
"Standard Precautions" (SP) is important for nursing students as it will lead to the protection of health professionals from infectious diseases and prevention of the wide spread of epidemic illnesses. Therefore, this study investigated factors influencing nursing students' attitudes toward SP. Data were collected from 291 nursing students from May to June, in 2016. According to the results, perceived benefit (4.26) was the highest among sub factors of the health belief model, test score of SP was 78.8%, and attitude score (4 point scale) was 3.63. Perceived sensitivity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, self-efficacy, knowledge about SP showed significant correlations with the attitudes towards SP. Among sub-factors of the health beliefs, perceived sensitivity (${\beta}=.152$, p<.05) and perceived barrier (${\beta}=-.125$, p<.05) were found to influence nursing students' attitudes toward SP (F= 5.680, p<.001). Hence, it can be concluded that a convergence education program promoting health belief is needed for improving attitudes toward SP among nursing students.
The purposes of this study is attempted to determine the effects of Moral sensitivity and nursing Professionalism on Standard Precautions among nursing students. Data collection is executed from November 15th to 30th of 2021, from 170 4th grade nursing students at one school city D. And the data answered to the questionnaire were analyzed by descriptive analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Hierarchical Multiple Regression Analysis. As a result of the study, Moral sensitivity of nursing students was 4.96±0.68 out of 7 points, the average of Nursing Professionalism was 3.93±0.61 out of 5 points and the average of Standard precautions was 4.55±0.61 out of 5 points. There was a correlation between moral sensitivity and standard precautions(r=.336, p<.001), between moral sensitivity and nursing professionalism(r=.384, p<.001) and there was a correlation between nursing professionalism and standard precautions(r=.518, p<.001). In additon, It was confirmed that the higher the nursing professionalism of nursing students, the higher the standard precautions(𝛽=.399. p<.001). The explainatoy power of the variables Standard Precautions was 35.7%. Based on the results of this study, it is suggest that develop education program increasing the Standard Precautions by enhancing Nursing Professionalism for infection management educational program among the students.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual situation of nursing students' exposure to blood and body fluids, and their knowledge, awareness and performance of standard precautions in an attempt to offer basic data for education of nursing students concerning infection control. The participants of this study were 309 juniors and seniors enrolled in the nursing colleges in J province. Of the participants, 71.5% turned out to have experienced exposure to the blood and body fluids of patients. The mean score of the knowledge about standard precautions was $20.59{\pm}2.05$, whereas grade, infection control education were statistically significant. The average awareness of standard precautions scored $4.67{\pm}.36$, and age, no follow-up measures were statistically significant. The mean sore for the performance of standard precautions was $4.25{\pm}.70$, while exposure to blood and body fluids was found to be statistically significant. There was positive correlation between the participants' knowledge, awareness and performance. The awareness(${\beta}=.274$) of standard precautions only stood out significantly among the factors affecting the performance of standard precautions, accounting for 8.6% in the performance variance of standard precautions. The study found it necessary to develop the infection control program in diverse ways by complementing especially the areas which used to show low awareness and performance of standard precautions. It is thus suggested to intensify education for students about infection control prior to starting clinical training.
