Sample Size Determination for O/D Estimation under Budget Constraint (예산제약하에서 O/D 추정을 위한 최소표본율 결정)

  • A large sample can Provide more information about the Population. As the sample size Increases, analysts will be more confident about the survey results. On the other hand, the costs for survey will increase in time and manpower. Therefore, determination of the sample size is a trade-off between the required accuracy and the cost. In addition, permitted error and significance level should be considered. Sample size determination in surveys for O/D estimation is also connected with confidence of survey result. However, the past methods were usually too simple to consider confidence. Therefore, a new method for O/D surveys was Proposed and it was accurate enough, but it has too large sample size when we have current budget constraint. In this research, several minimum sample size determination methods for origin-destination survey under budget constraint were proposed. Each method decreased sample size, but has its own advantages. Selection of the sample size will depend on the study Purpose and budget constraint.

Validation and Correction of Expanded O/D with Link Observed Traffic Volumes at Screenlines (스크린라인 관측교통량을 이용한 전수화 O/D 자료의 검증과 수정)

  • The households to be surveyed are usually huge number at the level of a city or metropolitan survey, not to mention a nationwide travel survey. Therefore, household travel surveys to figure out true origin-destination (O/D) trip patterns (population O/D) are conducted through a sampling method rather than by surveying all of the population in the system. Therefore, the population O/D pattern can only be estimated by expanding the sampled O/D patterns to the population. It is very difficult to avoid the errors involved in the process of sampling, surveying and expanding O/D data. In order to minimize such errors while estimating the true O/D patterns of the population, the validation and adjustment process should employed by doing a comparison between the expanded sample O/D data and observed link traffic volumes. This study suggests a method of validation and adjustment of the expanded sample O/D data by comparing observed link volumes at several screenlines. The study also suggests a practical technique to modify O/D pairs which are excluded in the screenline validation process by comparing observed traffic volume with the results of traffic assignment analysis. An empirical study was also conducted as an example applying the suggested methods of validation and adjustment with Korea's nationwide O/D data and highway network.

World Class 300 지원사업의 산업군별 경제적 성과분석

  • 본 연구에서는 대표적인 국내 중소·중견기업 육성사업인 "World Class 300 프로젝트" 수혜기업을 대상으로 R&D 지원사업의 성과를 측정하고자 한다. 특히, 수혜기업을 산업군(소재·부품·장비·모듈·소비재 기업)별로 세분화해 R&D 지원사업이 산업군별 특성에 따라 어떻게 차별화되는지에 대해 실증분석하였다. 분석은 2011년부터 2017년까지 World Class 300 프로젝트에 선정된 총 272개 기업을 대상으로 수행되었으며, 패널회귀 방법론을 통해 얻은 분석결과는 R&D 지원이 산업군에 따라 기업의 성과(당기순이익)에 상이한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 소재, 부품, 장비 기업 표본에서는 성과에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 못했고, 모듈 기업 표본에서는 성과에 부정적인 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 소비재 기업 표본에서는 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 향후 R&D 지원효과를 극대화하기 위해서는 산업군별 특성에 맞는 차별화된 지원정책의 기획·집행이 필요하다는 점에서 기존 연구들과의 차별성을 확보할 수 있다.

Origin-Destination Estimation Based on Cellular Phone's Base Station (휴대폰 기지국 정보를 이용한 O/D 추정기법 연구)

  • An Origin-Destination (O/D) is considered as one of the important information in route choices and trip assignments. A household interview survey is deemed to be the traditional and the most widely used method in making sample O/D and its conversion to the total O/D. Some researchers have studied to estimate dynamic O/D from the relationship between link volumes and trip assignment model. Nowadays, owing to the recent rapid spread of cellular phones. Location information of the cellular phone through the Base Station(BS) is considered as an alternative to O/D estimation. In this study, the methodology of generating BS-based O/D and the methodology of converting this O/D into an administrative district-based O/D are proposed. The information of GPS positions and cellular BS positions have acquired by establishing GPS equipment and cellular phone on taxies in Cheongju. Three weeks data are collected and used in estimating O/D by matching them on a digital map. Scatter diagram and sample correlation coefficients are used to investigate the similarity of the GPS-based O/D pattern among weeks, among days, and among times in day. The results show that there are few significant differences among weeks. But there is a difference in O/C pattern between weekday and weekend. Furthermore, there is a difference between morning peak and afternoon peak. Two methodologies are proposed to convert BS-based O/D into an administrative district-based O/D. The first one is to use the distribution pattern of GPS coordinates, the other is to use the coverage area of the BSs. To validate such converted O/D, GPS O/D is used as a true value. The statical analyses through scatter diagram, MAE and RMSE shows that there is few significant defference of pattern between the estimated BS-based O/D and GPS O/D. In the case of using only cellular information, the methodology using coverage area of the BSs is recommended for estimating O/D.

Evaluation on the traffic count based O/D matrix using Trip Length Frequency Distribution (통행시간분포를 이용한 교통량기반 추정O/D의 신뢰성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • 현재까지 개발된 교통량 기반 O/D 추정기법들은 추정된 O/D의 신뢰성을 평가하는 기준으로 통계적 오차분석을 통한 참O/D(true O/D)와 추정O/D간의 타이를 분석하는 방법이 주류를 이루었다. 문제는 이러한 오차분석기법들이 현실적인 대규모 교통망상에 적용될 때 탐O/D를 알 수 없을 뿐만 아니라, 알 수 있다고 하더라도 추정된 O/D와의 비교 평가시에 그러한 평가방법으로 추정된 O/D의 신뢰성을 부여하기에는 많은 문제점을 가지고 있다는 점이다. 통행조사에 의한 O/D는 비록 포함되어 있는 정보가 과거의 정보라고 할지라도 현재의 통행흐름에 대하여 가장 많은 정보를 가지고 있다고 할 수 있다. 즉, 선행O/D의 정보를 크게 변화시키지 않으면서도 관측교통량으로 O/D를 추정할 수 있는 방법이 이 관점에서 매우 뛰어난 추정방법이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구에서는 선행O/D정보 중 통행수요예측시 가장 중요한 지표의 하나인 통행시간빈도분포 (TriP Length Frequency Distribution:TLFD)를 이용하여 추정O/D의 신뢰성 지표로 삼았다. TLFD는 4단계 모형에서 통행분포(trip distribution)시 모형을 정산하는 데 사용되는 방법으로써 죤간 통행시간을 단위별로 나누어 조사된 통행시간분포와 추정된 O/D의 통행시간분포가 유사한 지를 살피는 방법이라고 할 수 있다. 조사된 TLFD와 추정O/D의 TLFD가 유사한 모양을 이를 때 추정O/D의 신뢰성이 높다고 인정한다. 또한 TLFD는 전통적으로 조사된 표본O/D를 전 수화하는데 이용되어 그 타당성 또한 많이 검증되어 왔다. 그러나 아직까지 TLFD를 가지고 교통량으로 O/D를 추정하는 모형의 결과를 검증한 연구 결과는 없는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 최종적인 이러한 분석결과를 평가할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 평가된 지표가 신뢰할 만한 수준이 아니라면, 추정된 결과를 보정할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고자 한다.

Optimal O/D Sample Size Computation using link Volume Estimates (구간 교통량의 표준오차를 이용한 최적 O/D 표본수 산출)

  • In this paper we address the issue of how an optimal sample size computation relates the level of precision required for travel demand estimations and transportation planning. We approach the problem by 1) deriving a theoretical solution, 2) developing a computational procedure (algorithm) to implement the theoretical solution, and 3) demonstrating a practical application. Ultimately, we construct a formal scheme of optimal sample size computation for use in travel data collection processe.

Study of Improvements to Expansion Methods of Sample O-D Survey Data and Synthesis of O-D Data (표본 O-D 조사자료의 합리적인 전수화 및 O-D함성 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Since 1960's there have been conducted quite numbers of origin and destination (0-D) surveys in Korea, Most of them, however, were to be said not so successful. In this paper, it was investigated that why the previous 0-D surveys were failed, and that how it could be improved. The findings of this study are: 1. The collection of sample data itself was performed relatively well, but the problem was in the improper expansion methods which were applied. 2. To improve the expansion methods, it should be performed not only the dwelling unit-based sample surveys but also commercial vehicle survey, cordon line survey, screen line counts and other auxiliary travel surveys like transit patronage survey, vehicle miles survey etc. at the same time. 3. To expand the sample surveyed data in a proper way, the adjustment factors should take a disaggregate form and also should be applied not to the specific trips, but to the specific trip makers to avoid the bias which could be caused by the application of adjustment factors in a way that has been used previously. 4. If there is no considerable change in travel patterns, we can synthesize the present 0-D data with past surveyed sample data, using present statistic data in the same way which was developed in this paper when expanding and adjusting sample data.

  • Seven species of higher fungi which were collected at Kwangneung, Mt. Hanla, Mt. Chiri, Taeqwanryung, and Yeongdong district, and preserved in the institute from 1975 to 1977, were classified into new korean species. Also, two species of fungi were collected from April to October 1978 and identified at Suweon, Kwangneung, and Mt. Chiri. They were as follows: Hygrophorus pratensis, H. flavescens, H. puniceus, Rhodophyllus rhodopolious Lepiota atrosquamulosa, Leucocoprinus fragilissima Lyophyllum semitale, Russula delica and Xerocomus badius.

A Review of Taxonomic Studies and Common Names of Rajid Fishes (Elasmobranchii, Rajidae) from Korea (한국산 홍어류 (판새아강, 홍어과) 어류의 분류학적 연구 현황과 국명검토)

  • Based on the reviewing the present specimens and published data, taxonomic revision about the Korean names and distributional ranges of the rajid fishes (Rajidae) in Korea was conducted. As a result, the family Rajidae from Korea was classified into 4 genera encompassing 11 species, Bathyraja bergi, B. isotrachys, Dipturus kwangtungensis, D. macrocauda, D. tengu, Okamejei acutispina, O. boesemani, O. kenojei, O. meerderooortii, Raja koreana and R. pulchra. Proposed new Korean names are "Salhongeo-sok" for the genus Dipturus and the "Hongeo-sok" for the genus Okamejei, because those are elevated from subgeneric to generic rank recently. In particular, the new korean names are needed to be given that, the genus Raja is "Chamhongeo-sok" and R. pulchra is "Chamhongeo". The occurrence of Bathyraja bergi is recognized as in the Korean waters according to this revision. The check list and the map of geographic distributions of 11 species of Rajidae from Korea are presented.

UV Resonance Raman Studies of Cis-Peptide, Diketopiperazine (자외선 공명 라만분광법을 이용한 시스-펩티드, 디케토피페라진 연구)

  • We have examined Raman spectra of cis-peptide model complex, diketopiperazine in water and $D_2O$ with 320 nm through 218 nm excitation. Our study examines assignment of the resonance enhanced amide vibrations and characterizes their enhancement mechanism. Three resonance enhaned cis-peptide marker bands were observed in aqueous solution at 1676, 1533 and $806cm^{-1}$, which were assigned to the cis-amide I, II and S band, respectively. The $1533cm^{-1}$ amide II band, which is almost pure C-N stretching, was most dominant in water and shifted to $1520cm^{-1}$ upon N-deuteration. This band will be probably a potential probe band for cis-peptide moieties in proteins. The excitation profile data and an Albrecht A-term fit indicated that the cis-peptide vibrations derive their intensities from the 188 nm cis-peptide ${\pi}-{\pi}^*$ electronic transition. We Propose that the geometry of cis-peptide ${\pi}^*$ excited state is C-N bond displacement relative to that of electronic ground state.
