The concepts of sample and sampling are central to the statistical thinking and foundations of the statistical literacy, so we need to be emphasized their importance in the statistics education. However, many researches which dealt with samples only analyze textbooks or students' responses. In this study, the concept of sample is addressed by a historical consideration which is one aspect of the didactical analysis. Moreover, developing concept of sample is analyzed from the preceding studies about the statistical literacy, considering the sample representativeness and the sampling variability. The results say that the historical process of developing the concept of sample can be divided into three step: understanding the sample representativeness; appearing the sample variance; recognizing the sampling variability. Above all, it is important to aware and control the sampling variability, but many related researches might not consider sample variability. Therefore, it implies that the awareness and control of sampling variability are needed to reflect to the teaching-learing of sample for developing the students' statistical literacy.

This paper investigates the relation of invert U-shape between the M/B ratio and leverage ratio by market, firm size, and a level of technology of firm. Our sample consists of 510 manufacturing firms continually listed on the Korea Securities Market and Kosdaq Market from January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2008. The total sample consists of the Korea Securities Market(large firms, high technology industry) sample of 2,248(1,816, 1,704) observations and the Kosdaq Market(small and medium firms, high technology industry) sample of 1,632(2,264, 2,376) observations. The empirical results show that the relation of invert U shape appears on the sample of the Kosdaq Market, small and medium firms, and high technology industry. However, the relation doesn't appear on the sample of the Korea Securities Market, large firms, and low technology industry. These mutually different results may be caused by the relatively low M/B ratio of the latter.

우리는 모분산 $\sigma^2$에 대한 추정량으로서 표본분(equation omitted)을 주로 사용한다. 그러나, 제 7차 교육 과정에 따른 고등학교 수학 교과서(10-가, 수학 I과 실용수학)에서는 표본분산의 정의를(equation omitted)으로 사용하고 있다. 이 두 표본분산들의 관계를 알아보고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하여 본다.

이 논문에서는 표본조사에서 자주 사용되는 표본의 대표성, 비편향성, 그리고 효율성에 개넘에 대하여 고찰하였다. 표본의 대표성은 조사단위의 포함확률로 표현되며 조사모집단의 포함범위와 연관이 있는 반면, 비편향성과 효율성은 표집설계와 추정량에 관련된 개념이다. 비편향성과 효율성은 표본의 대표성을 전제로 하며 가중치 부여로 나타난다

본 논문은 한국복지패널 표본가구의 응답패턴을 가구의 인구사회학적 특성에 따라 분석하였다. 조사원의 표본가구 방문회수별 조사 성공율과 패널가구로 구축된 표본가구의 원표본유지율 등을 가구의 특징에 따라 분석함으로서 과학적인 조사체계를 구축할 수 있는 계기가 되고자 한다.

We made a new sample design for life and consciousness survey of Kyungpook people in 2007. We used the 10% sample survey data of 2005 population and housing census as a survey population. After stratification, we allocate proportionally samples within strata after examining various characteristics in previous survey, which includes economic activity state, an income level per year, and housing possession. And we calculated weight in a new sample design and derived estimators and a formula of standard error using the weights.

Type specimens (deposited at TI) for 55 Nakaian taxa described from Ulleung Island were examined. Four taxa of those were confirmed as simple name combinations. Excluding 15 taxa which have already been lectotypified, lectotypes for 25 taxa including Arabis takesimense Nakai, Fagus multineruis Nakai, and Salix ishidoyana Nakai were designated in here. Validity of publication for the names of five taxa was not confirmed here. Type specimens for the remaining six taxa need further examination.

본 연구에서는 노동력수요동향조사를 위한 새로운 표본설계를 제시하였다. 새로운 표본설계에서는 전국 통계를 산출하기 위한 전국표본과 지역 특성에 맞는 고용정책 및 직업 훈련 계획 수립 등을 위한 지역통계의 수요에 따라 16개 시·도별, 규모별, 산업대분류별로 오차를 관리할 수 있는 지역표본으로 이원화하여 설계하였으며, 규모별, 산업대분류별로 오차를 관리하는 현행 표본조사의 상대표준오차를 검토하여 규모별, 산업중분류별로 합리적인 오차 관리가 가능하도록 설계하였다.

양곡소비량조사는 가구부문과 사업체부문에서 소비하는 주요식품의 소비량을 조사함과 동시에 주곡인 쌀의 재고량을 조사한다. 이 조사는 해마다 통계청에서 표본설계하여 실시하는 표본조사에 의존한다. 특히, 사업체 부문의 양곡소비량 조사는 응용절사법(Modified Cut-Off Sampling Method)에 의해 표본추출되어 매년 11월에 조사가 실시되고 있다. 2003년도 사업체 양곡소비량 및 재고량조사는 2001년 사업체기초통계조사와 광공업통계조사를 모집단으로 하여 22,320 대상업체 중에서 819업체를 전수조사하고 2,145 업체를 표본조사하여 전체를 추계한다.

Thymus quinquecostatus var. magnus (Nakai) Kitam., an endemic taxon in Ulleung Island, is lectotypified. The lectotype is designated based on careful examination of the original materials (deposited in TI) cited in the protologue of the variety. In addition, taxonomic identity of T. quinquecostatus var. japonicus H. Hara, a problematic name often mistakenly referred to the above taxon, was throughly reexamined.
