  • 직물의 촉각은 인간의 피부와 직물사이의 마찰력, 온도, 진동 등의 물리적, 역학적인 현상에 의해서 느끼게 된다. 그 중에서 마찰력은 질감을 결정하게 하는 가장 중요한 요소이다. 지금까지의 연구는 직물과 금속 등의 다른 물질 또는 직물과 직물사이에서 나타나는 마찰력을 측정하였으나, 본연구에서는 직접 손끝으로 문지를 때 나타나는 마찰력을 실시간으로 측정할 수 있도록 다축 로드셀등을 이용한 측정장치를 개발하였다. (중략)

A study of frictional characteristics of galvanized sheet steels for automobiles (자동차용 표면처리강판의 마찰특성에 관한 연구)

  • The frictional characteristics of galvanized sheet steels(GA, EG, EGF, EGN) for automobiles were studied and compared with that of cold rolled sheet steel. A draw bead tester which simulates metal flow through a draw bead in stamping die face was used to measure coefficients of friction of galvanized sheet steels for four kinds of lubricants. Stamping formability of galvanized sheet steels for quarter outer panel was examined. The results show that stamping formability and friction characteristics were mainly influenced by the nature of zinc coating, surface roughness and micro hardness of coated layer, and proved to be very sensitive to the lubricant used.

  • 비정질 탄소계 박막은 높은 경도, 내마모성, 내화학성 및 전기저항특성을 갖는 박막으로 다양한 산업분야에 응용 및 적용 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히, 탄소계 박막은 자동차 및 기계 산업분야에 있어서 우수한 물리적 특성인 고경도 및 저마찰 특성을 이용한 금속 표면의 기능성 부여를 목적으로 활발하게 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 사출금형 표면의 고경도 저마찰화를 목적으로 비정질 탄소계 박막을 사출금형 소재 (KP4)에 제작하고, 이들 코팅막에 대한 경도, 밀착력, 마찰계수 등의 물리적 특성을 평가하였다. 또한, 탄소계 코팅막 제작 공정 조건이 코팅막의 물리적 특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다.

  • Friction welding has emerged as a reliable process for high-production commercial application with significant economic and technical advantages. But nondestructive test in friction weld was not clearly developed. Therefore the experimental verification is necessary in order to understand the characteristics of the pulse echo effects according to various change in welding conditions. This paper presents a new attempt to detect the bond strength of friction welds by ultrasonic. Instead of looking for a flaw or cracks at the interface, the new approach evaluates the coefficient by reflection which provides a single quantitative indicator involving the acoustic energy reflected at the interface. The objective of this study is to find the relationship between the reflection coefficients and the weld strength. Results of the bar-to-bar friction welding of aluminum to copper and stainless steel and such relationship investigation are presented and interpreted.

  • The vehicle wiper blade(W/B) to lower the friction coefficient of the rubber surface after the surface treatment with chlorine were investigated. IR spectrum from W/B was used to determine the extent of chlorination of the rubber surface. Coefficient of friction is significantly reduced by the treatment with chlorine. In particular, the more sensitive influence on the initial chlorination. Rubber surface properties with respect to the longitudinal direction of the cutting plane were obtained by EPMA line analysis results. Penetration depth by EPMA chlorine concentration($20.0{\ell}$ of water for 35.0% hydrochloric acid(HCl) $300m{\ell}$ with 5.25% sodium hypochlorite(NaOCl) $400m{\ell}$), the chlorine treatment for 5 minutes was conducted to find that after 1.2 ${\mu}m$.

  • This study investigates the friction noise characteristic in relation to the corrosion of metal by using the frictional reciprocating and pin-on-disk system. From the experiments, it is found that the corrosion of metal advances the onset time and increases the magnitude of friction noise. Further, it is observed that the effect of corrosion on friction noise stems from the alteration of tribo-surface during repetitive frictional motion. The alteration of the corrosive contact surface induces a negative friction-velocity slope, by which the corrosion of metal can generate dynamic instability faster than non-corrosion of metal.

  • DLC(Diamond Like Carbon) 박막은 높은 경도, 낮은 마찰계수, 내화학성 등의 우수한 트라이볼로지적 특성을 가지고 있기 때문에 다양한 산업분야에서 적용되고 있다. 이러한 DLC 박막은 합성기구나 구조의 관점에서 몇 가지 다른 이름으로 불려지기도 한다. 밀도와 경도가 높기 때문에 경질탄소(Hard Carbon)라고도 불려지며, 수소를 함유한 경우에는 수소함유 비정질 탄소(Hydrogenated Amorphous Carbon)이라는 이름이 사용되며, 고밀도 탄소(Dense Carbon) 또는 고밀도 탄화수소(Dense Hydrocarbon)라고 불리기도 한다. 이렇듯 DLC 박막은 합성방법에 따라 함유된 수소와 탄소의 결합구조의 차이가 있다. 수소 함유한 DLC 박막은 20~50%까지 수소를 함유하며, DLC막의 기계적, 광학적, 전기적 특성들이 수소함량과 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 함유된 수소가 $300^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서는 쉽게 결합에서 이탈되면서 흑연화와 더불어 마찰마모시 코팅층의 파손이 발생한다고 보고되고 있고, 또한 수소량이 증가함에 따라 DLC 박막의 경도는 감소하게 되는데, 이는 수소에 의해 dangling bond가 Passivation되면 탄화수소의 3차원적인 Crosslinking은 그만큼 감소하게 되기 때문이라고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 PECVD를 이용하여 여러 가지 공정에 따른 DLC 박막을 증착시켰으며, 수소함유량에 따른 DLC막의 구조와 그에 따른 경도 변화를 살펴보았다. FTIR(Furier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)과 Raman Spectroscopy을 이용하여 DLC막의 수소의 결합상태를 관찰하였으며, Nano Indentation을 사용하여 미소경도를 측정하였고, FE-SEM을 이용하여 표면과 단면을 관찰하였다. 막의 두께 측정에는 ${\alpha}$-Step을 사용하였으며, Ball-on-Disk 타입의 Tribo-meter을 이용하여, 모재의 경도에 따른 마찰계수 변화를 관찰하였다.

Study on the Clamping Force and the Friction Coefficient in a Bolt tightened up to the Plastic Range (소성역체결 볼트의 체결력과 마찰계수에 관한 연구)

  • When a bolt is tightened up to the range of plastic deformation, yielding may be governed by the combined stresses due to the axial force developed in the bolt and the frictional torque induced on the thread by the contact with the nut. Consideration is taken account of the fact that the unengaged portion of the thread has least sectional area, being subject to initial yielding. Once yielding has taken place some strain hardening effect may result. Incremental stress-strain relations are used to treat the continued yielding, which is equivalent to treat continued yielding as if summing up the effects of thin walled cylinders subject to plastic deformation. M10 bolts of fine threads are used for both computational and experimental purposes. Variation of axial forces and frictional torques vs. the frictional coefficients are presented together with other plots showing some characterist of bolt under plastic deformation. Finally, a design and control aid for the tightening(i.e., kind of nomograph) is presented, showing the relationships among the torque factor and frictional coefficients for that particular bolt used in the experiment.

  • Test results of friction-factor for the flow of air in a narrow channel lined with various honeycomb geometries show that, generally, the friction-factor is nearly constant or slightly decreases as the Reynolds number(or Mach number) increases, a characteristic common to turbulent flow in pipes. However, in some test geometries this trend is remarkably different. The friction factor dramatically drops and then rises as the Mach number increases. This phenomenon can be characterized as a "friction-factor jump." Further investigations of the acoustic spectrum indicate that the "friction-factor jump" phenomenon is accompanied by an onset of a normal mode resonance excited coherent flow fluctuation structure, which occurs at Reynolds number of the order of $10^4$. New empirical friction-factor model for "friction-factor jump" cases is developed as a function of Mach number and local pressure.ach number and local pressure.
