The Effect of Impact Velocity on Droplet-wall Collision Heat Transfer Above the Leidenfrost Point Temperature (Leidenfrost 지점 온도 이상에서 액적-벽면 충돌 열전달에 대한 충돌 속도의 영향)

  • Single droplet-wall collision heat transfer characteristics on a heated plate above Leidenfrost temperature were experimentally investigated considering the effects of impact velocity. The collision characteristics of the droplet impinged on the heated wall and the changes in temperature distribution were simultaneously measured using synchronized high-speed video and infrared cameras. The surface heat flux distribution was obtained by solving the three-dimensional transient heat conduction equation for the heated substrate using the measured surface temperature data as the boundary condition for the collision surface. As the normal impact velocity increased, heat transfer effectiveness increased because of an increase in the maximum spreading diameter and a decrease in the vapor film thickness between the droplet and heated wall. For We < 30, droplets stably rebounded from a heated wall without breakup. However, the droplets broke up into small droplets for We > 30. The tendency of the heat transfer to increase with increasing impact velocity was degraded by the transition from the rebounding region to the breakup region; this was resulted from the reduction in the effective heat transfer area enlargement due to the breakup phenomenon.

  • AC 부하를 갖는 동기전동기에 있어서, 동기전동기의 속도리플을 저감시키기 위한 문제를 풀기위해 3가지 제어기법에 대해 비교를 한 후 가장 강인한 제어기법에 대해 분석하였다. AC 부하를 갖는 특별한 제어 대상으로 엑스선 전산화 단층촬영 장치(CT)용 겐트리를 선정하였으며 시스템이 갖는 특별한 구조에 의해 이러한 시스템 특성을 갖는다. 동기전동기의 출력 축에 링(Fing) 모양의 원판 프레임을 갖으며, 이 원판 표면에 무게가 서로 다른 여러 장치(X_선 튜브, X-선 검출기, 고압발생장치, DAS 장치, 온도조절장치 등)를 부착하여 영상 획득 시스템의 회전부를 구축하기 때문이다. 이러한 시스템에서는 무게 평형을 갖지 못하는 편심 무게가 존재하게 되며 이로써 전동기 관점에서는 AC 부하처럼 인식되는 제어 조건으로 인식 될 수 있다. AC 부하를 갖는 동기전동기에 대해 일반적인 벡터제어 알고리즘으로 제어를 수행하면 정상상태에서도 속도 오차가 "0" 으로 줄어들지 않고 AC 형태의 오차 성분이 존재하며 편심 무게의 크기에 비례하여 진폭이 커지는 특성을 갖는다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 Sine파 보상전류를 갖는 속도제어기법, 펀심부하토크 관측기를 이용한 속도제어기법, 그리고 기준모델제어기법을 소개하였다. 각 방법에 대한 실험 결과로부터 편심무게의 변동과 편심 위치의 변동 조건에서 기준모델제어기법이 강인한 제어 특성과 리플저감 측면에서 가장 우수함을 검증하였다. 이로써 AC 부하 조건에서 고정도 속도 제어기가 요구되는 경우 좋은 선택의 지침이 될 수 있다고 본다.

  • Scarcity of water worldwide, increasing greenhouse gas emissions, increased energy consumption due to the Earth is threatened. Existing in the process of urban planning and development of forests, rivers and other natural ecosystems have been destroyed and that there was increased impervious pavement. Impervious pavement increase water circulation system to destroy the natural and urban water retention, infiltration and decreased evaporation. Nonpoint source pollution(NPS) occurs when rainfall impervious pavement and appeal directly to the river water inflow is adversely impacts of the situation. In this study, rainfall occurs impervious pavement NPS pollution reduction and temperature increase due to the increase in urban areas, and to solve heat island phenomenon is to develop small HSSF constructed wetland technology. The small HSSF constructed wetland sedimentation, filtration, adsorption, absorption by vegetation, including such mechanisms. Techniques for verification of the pilot-scale test was conducted. In the future domestic urban heat island phenomenon and restore the natural water cycle for the facilities will be used as a basis to develop.

태양전지 적용을 위한 PECVD 실리콘 질화막 증착 및 가스비 가변에 따른 효과

  • 태양전지의 개발이 본격화 되면서 태양전지 웨이퍼 표면에서의 재결합에 의한 손실을 줄이고 전면에서의 반사도를 감소시키기 위한 ARC (Anti-reflection Coating) layer에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이 중 대표적인 물질이 실리콘 질화막이 있다. 실리콘 질화막은 PECVD(plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition)법으로 저온에서 실리콘 기판 위에 증착 가능한 장점이 있다. 또한 실리콘 질화막의 광학적, 전기적인 특성은 $SiH_4:NH_3$의 화학적 조성비에 의해 결정되며 가스비 가변에 따라 균일도 및 굴절률 조절을 가능케 하여 태양전지의 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 태양전지의 표면 반사도 저감 및 효율 향상에 최적화된 실리콘 질화막을 형성하기 위해 PECVD를 이용하였고, 가스비 가변을 통해 굴절률을 조절하여 실리콘 질화막을 증착하고 이를 이용한 태양전지를 제작한 후 특성을 비교, 분석하였다. 실리콘 질화막 증착을 위해 압력, 온도, 파워를 1Torr, $450^{\circ}C$, 300W로 고정하고 가스비는 $SiH_4$를 45 sccm으로 고정한 후 $NH_3$의 양을 각각 30, 60, 90, 120 sccm으로 가변하였다. $SiH_4:NH_3$ 비율이 45:90일 때 박막의 passivation효과가 최대였으며 이 조건로 ARC를 형성한 태양전지는 77% 후반의 높은 FF(Fill Factor)와 17%의 광 변환 효율을 나타냈다.

Performance Evaluation of Paving Blocks Based Ambient Temperature Reduction Using a Climatic Environment Chamber (기후환경챔버를 활용한 블록의 공기온도 저감 성능평가)

  • This study evaluated the reduction performance of ambient temperature and the amount of evaporation that takes place depends on the temperature difference of paving blocks which are used in the sidewalk, roadway, parking lot, park, plaza, and etc. The water-retentive block of the LID (Low Impact Development) practice was compared with the conventional concrete block. For the quantitative performance evaluation, experiments were performed in a climatic environment chamber capable of controlling the climatic environment (solar radiation, temperature, humidity, rainfall, and snowfall). The method for performance evaluation was proposed using temperature, humidity, and ambient air of paving blocks which changes according to the solar radiation and the wind speed after the rainfall. As a result, the evaporation amount of the water-retentive block was 2.6 times higher than that of the concrete block, the surface temperature of water-retentive block was $10^{\circ}C$ lower than the concrete block, and the air temperature of water-retentive block was $4.6^{\circ}C$ lower than the concrete block. Therefore, it is analyzed that the water-retentive block with a large amount of evaporation is more effective in reducing the urban heat island phenomenon as compared with the concrete block.

Performance Characteristics with Various Fuel Composition and Temperature for an External Type Fuel Pump in LPLi System (LPLi 시스템에서 외장형 펌프의 연료조성 및 온도에 따른 성능특성 연구)

  • Since LPG (Liquefied petroleum gas) fuel supply system has an advantage of low emission characteristics, many studies have been conducted. In spite of the advantage of LPG supply system, a higher vapor pressure and lower viscosity than diesel or gasoline fuel may cause unstable running of fuel pump by the deterioration in lubrication performance and chemical reaction with rubber parts than that of diesel and gasoline fuel. Therefore its physical properties can cause the deterioration of durability. In this research, we developed an external type LPG pump which has the advantage of the price competitiveness and the convenient maintenance for LPLi system. The experiments were carried out in order to assess characteristics of the external type fuel pump at different fuel composition and temperature. As a result, there aren't any differences between internal and external type pump performance. It is observed that the same level of efficiency was maintained for both pumps as flow rate was increased with higher fuel temperature and more contents of propane in the fuel. And the pressure difference in LPLi system is maintained at constant with the various fuel compositions and temperatures due to their own characteristics of fuel supply system.

Iron Phosphate Coating on Pyrite Surface for Reduction of Acid Rock Drainage (산성배수 발생저감을 위한 황철석 표면의 철인산염 피막형성 연구)

  • Acid drainage occurs when sulfide minerals are exposed to an oxidizing environment. The objective of this study was to examine the optimum condition for creating a phosphate coating on standard pyrite surfaces for reduction of pyrite oxidation. The solution of $10^{-2}M\;KH_2PO_4,\;10^{-2}M\;H_2O_2$ was identified as the best phosphate coating agent for the reduction of pyrite oxidation. The formation of an iron phosphate coating on pyrite surfaces was confirmed with ore microscope and scanning electron microscope equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy. The temperature did not significantly affect the formation of phosphate coating on the surface of pyrite. However, the phosphate coating was less stable at higher temperature than at lower temperature. The phosphate coating was quitely stable at wide range of pH and $H_2O_2$ concentration. The less than $3.4\%$ of phosphate was dissolved at pH 2.79 and 10.64 and less than $1.0\%$ of phosphate was dissolved at 0.1M $H_2O_2$. On the basis of these results, the phosphate coating can effectively reduce the negative environmental impact of acid rock drainage.

Effect of Flight Altitude on Minimal Infrared Signature of Combat Aircraft (고도 변화에 따른 전투기 적외선 신호 최소 조건 분석)

  • Owing to the rapid development of infrared guided weapon systems, the threat to aircraft survivability is constantly increasing, and research on infrared stealth technologies are being conducted to ensure aircraft survival. In this study, we analyze the minimum infrared signature of an aircraft according to its flight altitude by considering the characteristics of infrared guided missiles, which detect the contrast signature between the aircraft and background. We conducted computational fluid dynamics simulations for the convective coefficient, and heat transfer simulations were performed considering convection, conduction, and radiation for flight conditions. Thus, we obtained the surface temperature distribution of the aircraft and analyzed the aircraft infrared signature based on the flow characteristics around it. Furthermore, the optimum emissivity for the minimum infrared signature was derived, and the effect of the infrared signature was analyzed when this optimum emissivity was applied to the fuselage surface for each flight condition.

Effect of control measures on the contamination and growth inhibition of Listeria monocytogenes in Flammulina velutipes (팽이버섯 재배 농가에서 Listeria monocytogenes 오염과 성장억제를 위한 관리기술 효과)

  • The consumption of Flammulina velutipes mushroom imported from Korea has been associated with the cases of listeriosis in the United States, Canada, and Australia. We investigated the effect of sanitizing the plastic wrapper (used in packaging F. velutipes) with slightly acidic electrolyzed water (SAEW) and ultraviolet C waterproof light-emitting diode (UVC-W-LED) on reducing the Listeria monocytogenes. Further, the effect of UVC-LED on L. monocytogenes growth in F. velutipes at different storage temperatures (2, 4, and 10℃) was determined. The combined (SAEW+UVC-W-LED) treatment for 5-10 min reduced 99.9% of bacterial population from the contaminated plastic wrapper. In addition, the UVC-LED treatment for 3 min reduced the L. monocytogenes concentration in F. velutipes by 0.47 log CFU/g. Moreover, the growth of L. monocytogenes in the treated mushrooms was slower than that of the untreated (control) ones. L. monocytogenes concentration in F. velutipes increased over 3 log CFU/g at 2℃ and 10℃ for 60 and 10 days, respectively. The growth of L. monocytogenes at the bottom of mushrooms was faster than that at the top at both the temperatures. These results indicate that the combined SAEW+UVC-W-LED treatment of plastic wrappers and the UVC-LED treatment of mushrooms can be used as potential hurdle technologies to control the risk of L. monocytogenes in mushrooms prior to packaging at farms.

Melting and Refining of Cu Powder Scraped from Waste PCB with Fe2O3 (Fe2O3 첨가에 의한 폐PCB로부터 긁어낸 Cu분말의 용융 및 정제)

  • In this study, $Fe_2O_3$ was added as a flux to decrease melting temperature and refine during melting of Cu powder from scraped surface of the waste PCB (printed circuit board). The effect of $Fe_2O_3$ ratio to Cu powder and temperature on the recovery of Cu and content of impurities were investigated. It was found that the recovery of Cu was increased with increasing addition ratio of $Fe_2O_3$ and reaction temperature. The contents of O, Si and Fe in Cu phase were also decreased with increasing addition ratio of $Fe_2O_3$ and temperature. The formation of fayalite ($2FeO{\cdot}SiO_2$) and iron oxides phases in the slag was confirmed by XRD analysis after reaction with $Fe_2O_3$. Therefore, it was considered that the decrease of melting temperature and viscosity of slag by formation of fayalite slag contributed remarkably to the Cu recovery.
