A Study on Fatigue Characteristics and Economic Analysis of Discharged Nylon Fiber-Reinforced Asphalt Concrete (폐나일론을 이용한 섬유보강 아스팔트 콘크리트의 피로특성 및 경제성 분석)

  • In this study, discharged nylon fibers were added to asphalt concretes to be compared with fatigue life and analyzed in economic point of view. A four point bending fatigue test was conducted, and as a result, nylon fiber reinforced asphalt concretes that showed a 10percent increase in fatigue life compared to ordinary asphalt concrete. The economic analysis confirmed that the maintenance cost was decreased by 540 million won throughout the analyzing period. It is thought discharged nylon fiber reinforced asphalt will cause more economic and social effects than was shown by life cycle cost analysis.

  • Recycling of spent autocatalyst that includes the platinum group metals (PGMs), namely palladium, platinum and rhodium, is a very profitable endeavor. In order to ensure an efficient promotion of an appropriate policy-making and the technical development of the recycling process of spent autocatalyst in Korea, the generated amount, trading conditions, and recycling technology for spent autocatalyst were surveyed. The generated amount of spent autocatalyst was estimated by analyzing the domestic statistical data of registration & disuse of automobiles and the records of autocatalyst installation to new cars. The review of the recycling technology was carried out by surveying the recycling processes of 'Heesung PMTech Ltd.', which is the largest company in the recycling industry for spent autocatalyst in Korea. In addition to the above, some policy suggestions for the improvement of recycling industries for spent autocatalyst were offered.

  • The glass has been used continuously since ancient period up to the present day. The smart glass industry in which the advanced technology is added is developing. The life cycle of the smart glass is faster than traditional glass. Therefore, the basic and core technology development is needed for recycling of smart glass according to the replace period. Among the smart glass the recycling development of the automobile industry is the most needed areas. At the end of life of the automobile, the amount of the smart glass is expected to be over 23,000 tons per year. In this paper, the current status of domestic Korean automobile glass has been comprehensively investigated. Finally, Korean domestic smart glass recycling technology is also briefly introduced.

  • In order to review the End-of Life Vehicle(ELV) recycling system and recycling business of dismantlers in Japan, scheme of the automobile recycling law, status of ELV recycling, exports of used cars, ELV marketing business of dismantler and upgrading of used parts net work were studied. On the other hand, field survey in details for dismantling works were conducted at West-Japan Auto Recycling Co.. Although the ELV recycling system has been operating smoothly without any noticeable trouble, recycling business is running under severe circumstance. Exports of used cars have been increasing day by day through worldwide 176 countries. Finally, reuse parts of ELV concerning innovation marketing was discussed.

  • In the present age, a vehicle works important part in our lives and economical domain that transport people, freights, and everything. And both of its number and value are increasing more and more. But user's convenience, control system could not be archived improvement than technological success. In this paper, we suggest some kinds of administrative agendas; simplifying executive processes, designing vehicle information system using by RFID which includes Ubiquitous skill and optical communication network. Especially, this paper suggests public vehicle control model which can simplify every executive processes of vehicle's life in the newest method. There are many kinds of RFID applicative products about transportation. And a dual invest should be interrupted for economical purpose. So this paper also proposes some way for problems of these types.

  • 유럽의 폐차 처리 지침, RoHs 및 국내 친환경 소재 부품의 개발이 날로 가속화 되면서 종래 사용해 오던 인산염 피막 등 중금속이 함유된 코팅 재료는 점차 친환경 코팅 용액으로 전환이 되었다. 최근 자동차 산업 등에서 종래 중금속인 $Cr^{+6}$을 함유하지 않는 다양한 코팅 용액이 상용화 되고 있다. 그 중 가장 효율적으로 적용되고 있는 용액이 아연 flake를 첨가하여 희생 양극효과를 가능하게 하여 내식용 코팅 용액으로 상용화 하고 있다. 이 용액에는 내식성을 확보하기 위하여 희생양극이 가능한 소재 인 아연 분말을 첨가하며, 이 분말의 분산성이 소재와 코팅 층의 밀착성, 내식성에 결정적인 영향을 미친다. 특히 산업 현장에서는 아연 분말의 효율적인 분산을 위하여 24시간 이상 교반해야하기 때문에 생산성을 감소시키는 결정적인 요인으로 작용을 한다. 아연 분말의 분산은 용액 내에 첨가하는 각종 첨가제의 종류와 첨가량에 따라 현저하게 분산성이 다르기 때문에 첨가 원소에 대한 연구가 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 서로 다른 이종 합금을 첨가하여 각종 첨가제의 종류 및 첨가량이 분산에 미치는 영향을 조사하였고, 첨가량이 코팅 층의 밀착성 및 내식성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 분산제 첨가량이 낮을 경우 용액은 두껍게 코팅이 되며 분산 거리가 짧아졌다. 이 경우 코팅 층의 박리가 쉽게 발생하며, 코팅 층이 불균일하였다. 1.7% 첨가량에서 최적분산효과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 1,000시간 이상의 내식성을 확보할 수 있었다. 분산성과 동시에 유동성 확보가 중요하며, 유동성 확보를 위하여 점증제의 첨가량에 대한 변화를 주었다. 최적의 첨가량은 1.5% 이상으로 이 경우 부식 발생시간을 억제할 수 있었다.

  • The rolling stocks of KORAIL are KTX, Saemaulho Multiple Unit(PP), New Electrical Locomotive(DL), Electrical Locomotive(EL), Diesel Locomotive, Metropolitan Commuter Train(CDC), VVVF and Resistance Controlled Multiple Unit, etc. EMU with the maximum speed of 150km/h is under the test run at the moment. Electrical Multiple Units for mainlines with 180km/h speed are supposed to be introduced as a substitute for Saemaulho Multiple Unit which is scheduled to be out of service. But the specification standard for the control board design of train driver's cab does not exist and there is no a study for layout and type of controlling device with driver's ergonomical approach. That's why the types of controller and operating are different from rolling stocks, which has high possibility of driver's human error and needs education whenever a new car comes in. Based on the opinion poll of drivers, design specification of safety engineering and ergonomics for controlling devices and safety facilities can improve exact control for devices and deal quickly with an emergency so as to improve rolling stock safety and operational efficiency.

  • The Korea auto industry has developed remarkedly over the past 40 years and ranked up to 5th vehicles production nation in the world. In 2009 alone, Korea produced 3.5million vehicles and number of vehicles registered surpassed the seventeen million. On the other hand, 711 thousand ELV(End of Life Vehicles) were scrapped and used cars more than 265 thousand were exported. In the year 2009, 568 thousand tons of iron, 46 thousand tons of aluminum and 7 thousand tons of copper were recovered from ELV in Korea. Recycling ratio of ELV is approaching 95% by using ASR(Automobile Shredding Residue) as a fuel at cement kiln. Korea has enacted the automobile recycling law in 2007 and enforced it from January 2009, actually. However, the law has not been managed smoothly due to delays in the construction of infrastructure and the existence of a hostile monitoring system. In this regard, a revision and supplement program focused on recycling fee on the automobile recycling law is running under the ministry of environment now. Here, a recycling model for enhancing ELV recycling is suggested.

  • Due to environment problems in end of Life Vehicle in the country, the interest in remanufacturing is heightened than ever. In this study, it is important to quantitatively evaluate the economic effect of the introduction of the automotive remanufacturing business and analyzed cost-benefit for the three species of bumpers, doors, fenders, which is relatively lower remanufactured automotive component. The results showed that cost-beneift of each parts were analyzed 54,000 per one part, and if remanufacturing were 50%, benefits were to occur with a profit of 226,060 won. Thus, remanufacturing of bumpers, doors, fender resulted a significant benefit, and then it is possible that remanufacturing company have enough economic value for remanufacturing.
