Treatment of ASR from End-of-Life Vehicles by Air and Gravimetric Separation (廢自動車 ASR의 風力 및 比中選別에 의한 處理 硏究)

  • A study on the air and gravity separation has been performed for the removal of chlorine containing materials from ASR of end-of-life vehicles. The gravity separation was also conducted on waste plastics collected from ASR. In this work, ASR were previously shredded to pass through 8 mm sieve prior to separation tests and the gravity separation of waste plastics was conducted for three different particle sizes. The two-stage air classification was conducted with the range of air flow rate of 9~20 M$^3$/hr at first stage and 25~34 M$^3$/hr at second stage, respectively. The fraction of overflow product was remarkably increased in the 2nd stage air classification because of high air flow rate while that of underflow product obtained from 1st stage air classification was found to be 62~66%. From the results of gravity separation on waste plastics, it was also found that the amount of the float product was much greater than sink product. It is believed that the gravity separation may be used very efficiently for the removal of calorine bearing materials from waste plastics.

전기차 폐배터리를 재사용한 가정용 전력저장장치의 에너지 균등화 비용 추정: 가정용 태양광 시스템과 연계 시

  • 전기차 보급의 확대에 따라 배터리의 사용연한 도래 시 폐배터리의 누적규모도 전기차 판매량에 비례하여 증가할 것으로 보인다. 국가 별 규제로 인해 배터리의 재활용(Recycle) 의무가 있는 자동차 제조사를 중심으로 폐배터리를 재사용(Battery Second Use: B2U)한 ESS(Energy Storage System) 제품을 출시하거나 이를 활용한 실증 과제를 운영 중에 있다. 전기차 배터리의 성능 보증 수준은 통상 초기용량의 80%로, 보증이 완료된 폐배터리를 낮은 가격으로 매입하여 ESS로 활용할 경우 초기용량의 60%까지 사용 후 폐기할 수 있다. 따라서 B2U 제품은 신규 배터리 셀을 사용하는 ESS 제품 대비 가격은 저렴하나, 20년 이상 사용하는 태양광 시스템과 연계 시 4~6회 교체가 필요하다. 이러한 배경에서 본 고에서는 가정용 태양광 시스템에 신규 배터리를 사용한 가정용 ESS 제품과 B2U ESS 제품 연계 시 에너지 균등화 비용(Levelized Cost of Energy: LCOE)을 비교하여 B2U 제품의 경제적 타당성을 추정한다.

  • In Currently, the domestic reuse rate of ELV parts is about 3%. The reason of the row rate of it is due to that consumer can not obtain the information of the needed ELV parts. In order to supply the needed information to consumer, the standard of the part classification of the ELV parts is required. This research is to develop the part classification system of the three digits and web site of ELV parts.

  • 최근 들어 자동차 보유대 수의 급격한 증가와 함께 폐타이어의 발생량도 급격히 증가하였다. 폐타이어의 발생량이 적었을 때는 매립이나 소각 등의 방법으로 폐타이어를 처리해도 별 문제가 발생하지 않았다. 그러나, 폐타이어 발생량이 급격히 증가한 요즈음은 발생된 폐타이어가 합법적으로 처리되어지지 못하고 야적, 방치, 불법 매립 및 소각 등의 방법으로 처리됨으로써 환경적인 오염뿐만 아니라 시각적 공해, 대기 오염 등의 문제를 심각하게 야기 시키고 있다.(중략)

  • 리튬 이온 배터리가 전기 자동차 및 다양한 어플리케이션에 적용됨에 따라 폐배터리의 수요 또한 증가하고 있다. 내부 화학적 상태가 상이한 배터리의 전기적 특성실험을 통해 파라미터를 선정하였으며, 데이터의 분포에 적합한 Fuzzy Logic을 설계하였다. 설계된 Fuzzy Logic을 통한 Cell Grading으로 내부 화학적 특성이 유사한 셀을 선별하였다.

  • Recently, waste printed circuit board (PCB) has significantly increased in its amount due to the rapid development of electronic industries. Since several kinds of noxious materials and also valuable metals are contained in it, the waste PCB is in an urgent need of recycling for the dual purposes for the prevention of environmental pollution and recovery of valuable resources. Also, the catalyst which equipped in the exhaust pipes of automobiles to reduce emission of air pollutants contains precious met-als so that their recovery from the waste auto-catalysts is required. In this study, the recovery of valuable metals from waste PCB and auto-catalyst by arc furnace melting process has been investigated, which is known to be very stable and suitable f3r less production of pollutants due to its high operating temperature. The effect of the kind of flux on the recovery of precious metals was examined by using quicklime, converter slag, and copper slag as the flux. In addition, the influence of direct and alternating current and the applying direction of direct current has been investigated. It was observed that using converter or copper slag as a flux was more desirable for a higher efficiency in the precious metal recovery compared with quicklime. For the effect of current, application of direct current taking the bottom as a negative pole generally showed a better efficiency for the extraction of valuable metals from waste PCB, which was also observed for the case of waste auto-catalyst. The average recovery of precious metals from both wastes by arc furnace melting process was very high, which was up to in the range of 95~97%.
