Occlusion Processing in Simulation using Improved Object Contour Extraction Algorithm by Neighboring edge Search and MER (이웃 에지 탐색에 의한 개선된 객체 윤곽선 추출 알고리즘과 MER을 이용한 모의훈련에서의 폐색처리)

  • Trainee can enhance his perception of and interaction with the real world by displayed virtual objects in simulation using image processing technology. Therefore, it is essential for realistic simulation to determine the occlusion areas of the virtual object produces after registering real image and virtual object exactly. In this paper, we proposed the new method to solve occlusions which happens during virtual target moves according to the simulated route on real image using improved object contour extraction by neighboring edge search and picking algorithm. After we acquire the detailed contour of complex objects by proposed contour extraction algorithm, we extract the three dimensional information of the position happening occlusion by using MER for performance improvement. In the experiment, we compared proposed method with existed method and preyed the effectiveness in the environment which a partial occlusions happens.

  • 움직임 보상 기반 프레임율 변환(Frame rate up-conversion based on motion compensation )에서 발생하는 블로킹 현상(Blocking artifact)을 줄여 영상의 화질을 높이기 위한 디블로킹 필터(De-blocking filter) 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 블록 단위로 동작하는 움직임 보상 과정에서 주변 블록과의 움직임이 급격히 달라지는 폐색영역에서 발생하는 블로킹 현상을 크게 줄일 수 있다. 제안하는 방법은 기존의 필터링을 하지 않는 방법보다 화질이 약 0.01db 향상하였다.

  • Maxillectomy is performed to remove the tumor in the palate, maxillary sinus, buccal mucosa or nasal cavity. The resection range depends on the size and the extent of the tumor and it affects speech production or cause nasal regurgitation during feeding. Obturator can occlude an opening such as an oro-nasal fistula and protect the defect area. Successful reconstrucion of the patient's oral cavity who have gone over the maxillectomy is a difficult task. The condition and number of teeth, the remaining support area, and the extent of the defect area have a great influence on manufacturing the obturator. If these factors are disadvantageous, the prognosis of the prosthesis is uncertain. The final obturator must have a sufficient retention in the patient's oral cavity and must not irritate the surrounding tissue and support area where the resection was performed.In this case, a 55 year old female went through the maxillectomy and the only 3 teeth remained. And the retention of the maxillary prosthesis seems to be poor. So that, we fabricated the closed hollow obturator which has reduced weight compared to the conventional obturator. Consequently the closed hollow obturator can give better sealing and the adaptation.

Human Body Tracking and Pose Estimation Using CamShift Based on Kalman Filter and Weighted Search Windows (칼만 필터와 가중탐색영역 CAMShift를 이용한 휴먼 바디 트래킹 및 자세추정)

  • In this paper, we propose Modified Multi CAMShift Algorithm based on Kalman filter and Weighted Search Windows(KWMCAMShift) that extracts skin color area and tracks several human body parts for real-time human tracking system. We propose modified CAMShift algorithm that generates background model, extracts skin area of hands and head, and tracks the body parts. Kalman filter stabilizes tracking search window of skin area due to changing skin area in consecutive frames. Each occlusion areas is avoided by using weighted window of non-search areas and main-search area. And shadows are eliminated from background model and intensity of shadow. The proposed KWMCAMShift algorithm can estimate human pose in real-time and achieves 96.82% accuracy even in the case of occlusions.

  • 최근 MPEG(moving picture experts group)에서 표준화를 진행하고 있는 3차원 비디오 시스템은 다시점 영상과 깊이영상을 동시에 이용하여 사용자가 임의의 시점을 선택하거나 스테레오스코픽 장치와 같은 3차원 영상 재생장 치를 동해 3차원 영상을 제공하는 차세대 방송 시스템이다 제한된 시점수를 이용하여 보다 많은 시점의 영상을 제공하려면 중간시점의 영상을 보간하는 장치가 필수적이다. 이 시스템의 입력정보인 깊이값을 이용하면 시점이동을 쉽게 할 수 있는데, 보간한 영상의 화질은 이 깊이값의 정확도에 따라 결정된다. 깊이맵은 대개 컴퓨터 비전을 기반으로 한 스테레오 정합기술을 이용 획득하는데, 객체의 경계와 같은 깊이값 불연속 영역에서 주로 깊이값 오류가 발생하게 된다. 이런 오류는 생성한 중간영상의 배경에 원치 않는 잡음을 발생시킨다. 기존의 방법에서는 측정한 깊이법의 객체 경계와 영상의 객체 경계가 일치한다는 가정으로 중간영상을 합성했다. 그러나 실제로는 깊이값 측정 과정에서 두 가지 경계가 일치하지 않아 전경의 일부분이 배경으로 합성되어 잡음을 발생하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 깊이맵을 기반으로 중간시점의 영상을 보간할 때 발생하는 경계 잡음을 처리하는 방법을 제안한다. 중간영상을 합성할 때 비폐색 영역을 합성한 후 경계 잡음이 발생할 수 있는 영역을 비폐색 영역을 따라 구별한 다음, 잡음이 없는 참조 영상을 이용함으로써 경계 잡음을 처리할 수 있다. 실험 결과를 통해 배경 잡음이 사라진 자연스러운 합성영상을 생성했다.

  • A sensor and measuring system were implemented to measure two signals that uroflow and urophonography during urination for diagnose the lower urinary tract symptom. The implemented system was composed of the uroflow sensor using the load-cell, the urophonography measurement sensor so as stethoscope type, pre-processing part for sensors signal detection, amplifier and filter, system control parts and PC measurement program. A simulator of the lower urinary system that is experimental equipment implemented for evaluate the implemented system. The two signals were measured using implemented system and analyzed these signal by means of time domain and frequency domain for extraction of the characteristic parameter the most influence of effect according to occlusion of the lower urinary system. Furthermore two signals were measured and analyzed with the subject of 5 healthy adult for clinical application possibility of the implemented system. As a result, the most influence bandwidth of effect according to occlusion of the lower urinary system is $253\sim282Hz$ of the urophonography signal.

  • TRecently, smart cities that solve various problems in cities based on IoT technology are in the spotlight. In particular, cases of BIM application for smooth management of construction and maintenance are increasing, and spatial information is converted into 3D data through convergence technology and used for safety diagnosis. The purpose of this study is to create and combine point clouds of a multi-story building by using a ground laser scanner and a handheld LiDAR SLAM among UAV and LiDAR equipment, supplementing the Occluded area and disadvantages of each technology, examine the effectiveness of indoor and outdoor reverse design by observing shape reproduction and accuracy. As a result of the review, it was confirmed that the coordinate accuracy of the data was improved by creating and combining the indoor and outdoor point clouds of the multi-story building using three technologies. In particular, by supplementing the shortcomings of each technology, the completeness of the shape reproduction of the building was improved, the Occluded area and boundary were clearly distinguished, and the effectiveness of reverse engineering was verified.

  • 본 논문에서는 다시점 비디오(multi-view video)에서 보다 다양한 시점을 제공하기 위한 가상 시점 비디오 생성 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 가상 시점 비디오 생성 기법은 우선적으로 대칭적 신뢰 전파 기법(symmetric belief propagation)을 기반으로, 각 시점의 깊이 정보 및 폐색 영역(occlusion region)을 추출하기 위해서 에너지를 최소화한다. 추출된 깊이 정보 및 에너지를 이용하여 참조하는 시점 간의 가중치를 적용하여, 새로운 가상 시점의 비디오를 생성하고, 추출된 폐색 영역의 값을 이용하여, 가상 시점의 비디오를 보정하는 가상 시점 비디오 생성 기법을 제안한다. 또한 제안하는 알고리즘을 한정된 중간 시점 영상에서 임의의 가상 시점으로 확장하여, 임의의 두 시점 간의 자유로운 시점(free-view point)을 제공함을 확인한다. 실험을 통하여 제안하는 기법이 다시점 비디오에서 높은 화질의 가상 시점 비디오를 제공함을 확인한다.

Determination of Cost Function in Disparity Space Image (변이공간영상에서의 비용 함수의 결정)

  • Disparity space image (DSI) technique is a method of establishing correspondence between a pair of images. It has a merit of generating a dense disparity map for each pixel. DSI has a cost function to be minimized, and it needs empirical weighting factors for occlusion penalty and match reward. This paper provides theoretical basis for the weighting factors, which depend on image noise and contrast between an object and background.

  • This paper proposes an effective FRUC (Frame Rate Up-Conversion) technique, which is based on ROI (Region Of Interest) separations and adaptive motion vector refinement. In this paper, in order to overcome the weakness of the EBME (Extended Bi-lateral Motion Estimation) algorithm, which is widely known in FRUC techniques, first, the proposed algorithm performs a bi-directional motion estimation for the complementary asymmetric region. Then, the proposed algorithm classifies each block into ROI or non-ROI block and refine motion vectors in accordance with their block characteristics to have a higher accuracy than the conventional EBME algorithm, specially, for the occlusion regions. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can improves 0.59dB on average PSNR as compared to the conventional method.
