A Study on the Origin/Destination of Trading Cargoes with China for the Pyungtaek Port's Development (평택항 발전을 위한 대중국 수출입화물의 기종점(O/D) 연구)

  • The container throughput of China, after the joining in the WTO, has begun to increase notably. As a result, China is busy building new ports continuously. In accordance with China's situation Korea promote the development plans of ports and marketing strategy to attract the increasing cargo traffics with China, including transhipment cargoes. To build the competition strategy and the panning port for trading cargoes with China, an analysis on origin/destination is necessary. The cargo volume from/to the particular port(Korea/China) and origin/destination of traffic are important factors in the requirement for the port development. Therefore, in the era that trading with China is rapidly increasing, this study is performed to analyze the port's usage of transporting the cargos and the origin/destination of trading cargoes with china. Also this paper suggests to the competitive strategies of Pyungtaek Port to attract cargoes particularly from/to China.

Accuracy Improvement of Surveying & Mapping for Seabed Facilities (해저시설물 조사성과의 정확도 제고)

  • Recently, the seabed facility is gradually being increased based on the development of harbor and the coastal area. However, the comparison between the survey data with the chart still shows the significant differences leading to various disasters over sea accident. Therefore, in this study, the investigation on the seabed facility were performed in 5 areas through an accuracy analysis using an up-to-date surveying equipment(MBES, SSS and SBP). Based on the study more systematic management on the seabed facility, more accurate method on the surveying, and some considerations on the related policies are suggested. Through the study, we obtained more accurate measurement on depth and seabed piping forms in Jakdo and Pyong-tack, on sunken ship in a Mok-po, on seabed crater in Je-ju. In addition, it was possible to present the method for the construction of information infra and a connection with the seabed facility. The criteria on the equipment's specification, surveying method and procedures are set by the experiments and the investigation and surveying accuracy on the seabed facilities are also suggested.

A Study on the Brand Power Enhancement Strategy in Incheon Port (인천항의 브랜드파워 제고 전략에 관한 연구)

  • This article aims to reveal the relative influences to the Brand Power and Performance of Factors that comprise the port brand assets in order to control and manage the ports. And also this Paper want to suggest the useful strategies and implications for the improvement of Brand Power by comparing the level of brand competitiveness of Incheon Port with those of other Korean ports that are in competitive relation. In this research we can find out that the components of port brand asset are awareness level, image, service quality, and satisfaction of relation. And among those 4 factors, recognition level and satisfaction of relation are very significant relation factors for the loyalty in Incheon Port. In comparison study between Incheon and Pyungtack Ports, satisfaction of relation is revealed as especially significant factor for the customers that show highly effective management performances and we can find that, in Busan Port, image and service quality are significant as well.

An Analysis of Technical Efficiency of Port Labor Using DEA/Super Efficiency (DEA/초효율법을 이용한 항만노무 효율성 분석)

  • This paper measured and evaluated the technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of port labor via three inputs and three outputs using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). First, the average overall technical efficiency measured about 94.18 %, with 100 % pure technical efficiency being larger than 94.18% scale efficiency. As a result, 7 ports were identified as efficient, and 4 ports were identified as inefficient. Among the 4 ineffiecient ports, Donghae had the highest Increasing Return to Scale (IRS). However, the inefficient ports were all found to be less efficient in terms of resource operation than production scale. On the other hand, the efficient ports established priorities using the super efficiency method. As a result, port efficiency was highest for Incheon, Mokpo, Pyeongtaek-Dangjin, Masan, Yeosu Gwangyang, Jeju, and Gunsan-Daesan Ports, in order. In particular, Busan Port, found to be inefficient, would benefit from using Mokpo Port and Incheon Port as benchmarks to increase trade volume and modernize equipment for full-scale commercialization to improve labor efficiency.

The Process of Development and the Change of Freight Flows in the Influence Areas of pyeongtaek and Dangjin Port, Korea (평택.당진항의 항만발달과 화물유동에 의한 항세권 변화)

  • This study seeks to clarify the process of development and the change of freight flows in the influence areas of Pyeongtaek and Dangjin Port, which opened lately. The results of analysis are as follows: from development period to growth period, the relation between the development of the port and the change of the hinterland and foreland shows no great change and the freight concentration rates of the first hinterland and foreland decreased, but those of periphery region increased. While the composition rate of import and export freight of vehicle, fuel and energy decreased, the rate of imported freights (iron or steel, other textile articles, rag and organic compounds) and exported freight (manufacture of basic metals) increased. The reasons for such changes in influence areas of port were the increase of export to China and the U.S.A. in the development period, the increase of import from China in the growth period and the diversification of nations from which fuel and energy were imported.

Application of Lime Stone, Sand, and Zeolite as Reactive Capping Materials for Marine Sediments Contaminated with Organic Matters and Nutrients (유기물 및 영양염류로 오염된 해양퇴적물 정화를 위한 석회석, 모래, 제올라이트의 반응성 피복 소재로서 적용성 평가)

  • In this study, the applicability of calcite, sand, and zeolite for the remediation of sediments contaminated with organics and nutrients were investigated. Sediments and seawater for water tank experiments were sampled from Pyeongtaek harbor, and 1 cm or 3 cm of calcite, sand, and zeolite were capped on the sampled sediments. pH, electric conductivity (EC), dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP) were monitored for 63 days. The sampled sediments were highly contaminated with organic matter and total nitrogen. DO in uncapped condition was exhausted within 10 days but DO in capping condition except 3 cm of zeolite capping was prolonged above 2 mg/L. Capping efficiency for interrupting COD release from sediments was in the following order: zeolite 1 cm > calcite 1 cm > calcite 3 cm > sand 3 cm ${\cong}$ zeolite 3 cm ${\cong}$ sand 1 cm. Zeolite was found to be effective for interrupting nitrogen release. T-P was not observed in both uncapped and capped sediment, i.e., all experimental conditions. It can be concluded that zeolite can be effectively used for the remediation of sediments highly contaminated with organic matter and nitrogen.

Numerical modeling of tidal discharge through a permeable dyke from varying surface gradients (내·외 수위차를 이용한 투수성 제체의 조류량 모델링)

  • 서해안 중부 아산만 안쪽에 위치하는 평택·당진항에서 장래 개발 예정인 면적 6.9km2의 내항2공구 수역은 내항2공구 외곽호안 - 내항가호안 - 내항2공구 중앙 분리호안으로 둘러싸여 있으며, 투수성 제체인 내항가호안 사석 공극을 통하여 해수가 유통되어 조석 현상이 나타나고 있다. 2020년 8~9월의 2개월간 내항2공구 외곽호안 내·외측에서 조석 관측 결과, 2공구 수역의 최대 조차는 1.97m로서 외측 해역 최대 조차 9.79m의 20.1%이고 내·외측의 순간 수위차는 최대 5.82m에 달한다. 내항가호안은 내항2공구 개발이 거의 완료되는 시기까지 유지될 예정이므로 2공구 개발에 따른 내측 조차와 내·외측 수위차의 변화를 정확하게 예측하는 것은 내항가호안 제체 안전에 매우 중요하다. 이 연구의 목적은 장래 개발단계별 변화 예측에 앞서, 관측이 이루어진 2개월간의 실시간 내측 조석과 내·외측 수위차 시계열을 Delft3D-Flow를 이용하여 기 구축된 아산만 수치모델에서 재현하는 것이다. 내항가호안 제체 통과 유량은 내·외측 수위차에 비례하는 것으로 가정하고, 수위차 - 유량 관계식을 도출하였다. 수위차는 평택 조위관측소와 내항2공구 수역의 1분 간격 관측 조위로부터 산출하였고, 제체 통과 유량은 내측 조위(z, 평택항 DL 기준, m) - 수용적(V, 106m3) 관계식으로 계산하였다. 내측 조위 - 수용적 관계식은 수심측량 성과로부터 V = 0.28z2 + 3.73z + 2.96 (r2=1.00)으로 얻어졌다. 다양한 함수식의 적합성을 검토한 결과, 다음과 같은 수위차(𝚫z, m) - 제체 통과 유량(Q, m3/s) 관계식을 도출하였다. [내항가호안 내측으로 유입시] $Q_{IN}=\{\begin{array}{lll}{\exp}\{0.54\;{\ln}({\Delta}z)+6.00\}&&\text{; }{\Delta}z{\leq}1.8\\219.82{\Delta}z+158.56&&\text{; }{\Delta}z>1.8\end{array}\;\;(r^2=0.86)$ [내항가호안 외측으로 유출시] QOUT = -exp{0.44 ln(-𝚫z) + 5.70} (r2=0.59) 매 𝚫t 마다 제체 통과 유량을 계산하는 알고리즘을 Delft3D 소스 코드에 추가하고, 8개 분조 합성조석(M2, S2, K1, O1, N2, K2, P1, Q1)을 외력조건으로 설정하여 2개월간 조석 수치모델링을 수행하였다. 내항2공구 수역의 매 시별 조위 관측치와 모델치를 비교한 결과, 오차는 -0.37~0.37m의 범위이고, 오차 평균은 0.02m, 절대오차 평균은 0.08m로 상당히 정확하게 실시간 조위 변동을 모의하였다. 보정·검정된 이 모델을 이용하여 향후 내항2공구 개발에 따른 내측 조석과 내·외측 수위차 변화에 대한 예측모의를 진행할 예정이다.

  • 최근 서해지역 영해기점도서인 격렬비열도 인근 해상에 중국어선 불법어업이 증가되고 있으며, 인천 평택 대산항의 입출항 선박의 주요 관문로에 위치하고 있어 국토 최서단에 위치한 격렬비열도등대 기능을 강화하여 통항선박의 안전항행 유도, 불법어선 감시, 영토지킴이, 기상악화 시 어민들의 수난 구호기지 역할 수행 및 해양 기상관측시설물 관리 등 다양한 기능을 수행하도록 기반을 마련하였다.

  • 인천, 평택, 대산항 입출항 선박의 주요항로상에 위치한 충청권역 내 유일한 유인등대인 옹도등대를 민간에 개방함으로서 역할을 재조명하고, 등대 해양문화공간 체험을 통한 항로표지의 중요성을 국민에게 알리고자 한다. 이에 따라 옹도등대 민간개방시 발생되는 해결과제, 대책 등 활성화 방안을 제안하며, 이를 통해 옹도 주변 섬과 연계한 해양관광자원 개발을 통해 국민에게 다가가는 등대로 거듭나는데 기여하고자 한다.
