  • This automotive headlight control system is newly proposed that, under my slope degree of the driving mad(flat up-hill, and down-hill) at night driving, the reflecting mirror of the headlight can be automatically controlled for safe driving. At first whether or not any vehicle is driven near is checked by photo sensor. Secondly, using the slope degree of the automotive feedbacked from the tilt sensor, the servo motor with the headlight is controlled to be turned right or down to the suitable angle. The servo motor is appropriately controlled according to road conditions. The proposed headlight control system is designed on the basis of the tested illumination intensity obtained according to any slope degree of roads. Finally, it is confirmed that the test model works very well in the given road conditions and environments.

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the hydroponic culture possibility and the optimal solution strength of 'Pechika' ever-bearing strawberry in summer highland. Maximum room temperature and minimum root zone temperature of plastic house were $30.8^{\circ}C\;and\;19^{\circ}C$ in highland respectively and $4^{\circ}C\;and\;3^{\circ}C$ lower than in level and. The growth of 'Pechika' was better in highland. There was effective in producing the good yield and fruit quality in highland and the deformed fruits also were decreased. The soluble solid and titratable acidity content increased in highland. Early growth was the most effective in standard solution $(EC\;0.75dS\;m^{-1})$ and had a tendency to be inhibition with increasing nutrient concentration. Standard solution was also the highest to yield about 2,064kg/10a among treatments, and 2/3S, 4/3S, 5/3S by turns. The browning roots and root activity increased when the solution strength was increased, especially in EC $1.25dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$. The soluble solids and acidity content of fruits were increased with higher solution strength. Therefor, the summer hydroponic culture of 'Pechika' ever-bearing strawberry was suitable in highland and effective in standard solution $(EC\;0.75dS{\cdot}m^{-1})$ in solution control.

  • This paper shows our experiment is performed to understand the exposure tendency of $^{137}Cs$ according to the height of area and also, to supplement it by considering chemical characters of $^{137}Cs$ exposed to the soil. The samples we use for this experiment are from the general flat area of Yeonggwang county where it has NPPs, the high places of Keumjung & Bulgap mountains, and Naejan mountain where it is quite far from the NPPs. The data from this experiment show that the exposure of $^{137}Cs$ is not harmful since its range is around 252 Bq/kg-dry in most of sampled soils such as from the general flat area, the high place of Keumjung mountain where is 2 km away from the NPPs, the other high place of Bulgap mountain where is about 20 km away from the NPPs, and Naejan mountain where it is far from the NPPs. Not like the general flat area, however, the data show that the higher the area is the more $^{137}Cs$ is exposed. That is, at the top of mountains, the more $^{137}Cs$ is exposed compared to at the bottom area. It is almost $2{\~}6$ times more than the general flat area of Yeonggwang county where it has NPPs. The data also show that the spread of $^{137}Cs$ is deeply related to the geographical(the height of area, rainfall, etc..) factors and chemical factors of soils. As the geographical factors, there are far more chances to be exposed of $^{137}Cs$ at the high area of mountains through the air compared to at lower area and therefore, we can get more high-leveled readings of $^{137}Cs$ at the high area while it is low-leveled ones at the general flat area even if both of them have the same soil conditions. Regarding the chemical factors of soil, it is clarified that the CEC is the key factor. The CEC means the capability of sticking $^{137}Cs$ accumulated into the soil. Hence, the more CEC it has the more high-leveled readings of $^{137}Cs$ we get under the same geographical condition.

  • The almost similar degumming effect was obtained by using oxalic acid instead of phosphoric acid, which also improves waste-water treatment. At this point, solution of Phosphoric, Acetic, Citric, Oxalic, and Nitric acid were used for degumming of rapeseed and soybean oil. Compared with Phosphoric(PA) and Oxalic acid(OA) were showed a simillar degumming effect in these vegetable oils. In rapeseed oil of 85% PA treating group and 5,10% OA fretting group, residual soap and phosphorus content in neutralized oil, color in bleached oil, and peroxide value and fatty acid content in deodrized oil were showed to simillar result. Soybean oil as well as rapeseed oil were showed to similar result. As a result, we could comfirmed substitutive possibility, which change PA into OA as a degumming agent. In the other hand, waste waters were obtained from 55% PA treating group and 10% OA treating group. Analytical result for this waste waters has showed a wide difference, especially in the BOD and COD. The amount of treating agents and time required in the precipitation seperation and chemical treatment each 3 and 1.7 times, which is PA treating group than OA treating group. We have investigated both the simillar degumming effect by OA solution and an alternative the pollution program means of a chemical treatment process is not possible.

  • The objective of this study was to examine the distinctiveness and generality of landforms of the Korean peninsula, and further discover geomorphological principle that can be applied to land and environmental management in Korea. The research targeted East Asia and Korea, with terrain analysis conducted at a continental scale, national scale, and regional scale sequentially. East Asia displays complicated characteristics and evolutionary history of geotectonics, but exhibits distinct northeast-southwest geomorphological structure and connectivity at the continental level. While the Korean peninsula follows this pattern on a continental scale, it also features NNW-SSE direction (Nangrim and Taebaek Mountains) geomorphological connectivity that intersects at a right angle. From a national perspective, the Korean peninsula hosts the most diverse geomorphological features within East Asia. It does not have a high average altitude, but has relatively high slope angle and intricate topographical distribution in comparison to neighboring areas. While the mountains and plains of the Korean peninsula display a smooth connection, geomorphologically similar areas such as Shikhote-Alin, Huanan in China, and Japan have clear characteristics that divide the mountains and plains. Despite the distinctiveness and diversity that appear in East Asian topography on the regional scale, the connectivity that links the top of mountain (hill) to stream is identical among all areas as a general rule. It is collectively considering the connectivity and the geomorphological and ecological processes that arise within this connectivity that will serve as the focal point for sustainable landscape management.

  • This research aims to present a methodological approach for repurposing small pockets of national/public lands, which can be constructed as parks, through an investigation of the present status of these areas of national/public lands that are scattered around Busan Megalopolis as well as the suitability of their construction. In order to attain this, this study looked at the present status of these small areas of national/public lands by utilizing a national land, city land list (lot number), land registration map and satellite image of Busan Megalopolis, and evaluating their suitability as parks through GIS analysis and classification. As a result, these small areas of lands with the potential to be turned into parks include 516 spots($375,934m^2$). Geographically, 39% of these areas are located on flat land and are the most scattered. 260 places met the requirements for optimal placement for conversion, while convenience included 305 places, and availability 267 places. The most optimal of the places meeting such standards include 61 spots. The characteristics of these areas of national/public lands include being below $500m^2$, with flatlands and open areas above a 5' grade occupy the highest ratio, accounting for 25.4% of the land studied. These results have offered a methodology for a GIS DB, which can visualize the data for a positive utilization be yond the simple level of the maintenance/preservation of national/public lands and provide basic data for the utilization and management of these types of areas in the future.

  • Gait analysis has been conducted in various environments, but the biomechanics during the transition from uphill walking to downhill walking have not been reported. The purpose of this study is to investigate the knee and ankle joint kinematics and kinetics during walking on a triangle-shaped slope compared with those during level walking. Kinematic and kinetic data of eighteen participants were obtained using a force plate and motion capture system. The greater peak ankle dorsiflexion angle and moment and the peak knee extension moment were observed (p<0.05) during both uphill and downhill walking on the triangle-shaped slope. In summary, uphill walking on a triangle-shaped slope, which showed a peak knee flexion of more than $50^{\circ}$ with greater peak knee extension moment, could increase the risk of patellofemoral pain syndrome. Downhill walking on a triangle-shaped slope, which involved greater ankle dorsiflexion excursion and peak ankle dorsiflexion, could cause gastrocnemius muscle strain and Achilles tendon overuse injury.

  • This study surveyed intensively the relationships between grain size of coarse bed materials and some principal factors in channel system, drainage area and channel slope, in Rocky Mountains. The result of this research shows that there are statistically significant relationships between these factors. Generally, the grain size and the channel slope exponentially decreased in the study area with the increase in drainage area. However, there are great differences in grain size and channel slope between upstream and downstream channels. The boundary lines are commonly located at near the mouth of canyon. From these results, it can be concluded that the bed material characteristics and the channel slope are strongly influenced by the geological and geomorphological background of the drainage basin in this study area.

  • Even though vehicle types, gradient, pavement conditions and types of pavement should be considered for estimating fuel consumption, existing models were developed as a function of vehicle types and vehicle speed. Therefore in this study, the model of fuel consumption was developed using field test data in order that effect analysis on the passenger vehicle fuel consumption by road gradient. At first, fuel consumption was measured in second-based, using GPS device and fuel consumption measurement device for development of fuel consumption model considered road gradient. The road gradient was classified as flatland, up-hill and down-hill. Development of model was using by regression model which vehicle speed(km/h) and fuel consumption(${\ell}/km$). The on-road test proved that fuel consumption of passenger vehicle is affected by road gradient.
