방전가공기의 효율적인 아크 검출과 제어방법 (Efficient Arc Detection and Control Method in Electro-discharge Machining)

  • 방전 현상을 에너지로 이용하여 금속을 가공하는, 특히 초경 및 난삭 소재의 가공과 정밀가공에 효과적인 방전가공 시 빠른 가공속도와 향상된 정밀도 및 면조도를 달성하기 위하여 효율적인 아크의 검출과 제어방법에 대해 연구하였다. 단일 방전 파형을 Td(Time-Delay), Ton(Time-on), Toff(Time-off)의 세 가지 구간으로 나누어 HDL 언어를 이용하여 게이트 제어 타이밍을 시뮬레이션 하고, 실제 방전가공기에 적용하여 파형을 실측하였으며, 비교기 회로를 통한 Td 구간의 샘플링을 통해 서보기구의 동작을 결정함으로써 전극과 가공물 간의 간격 제어와 가공 결과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석결과 형성되는 파형의 Td 구간을 보다 정밀하게 고속으로 샘플링하여 이를 토대로 전극과 가공물 간의 gap 제어에 적용하였을 때 보다 향상된 결과를 나타내었다.

컴퓨터수치제어(CNC) 플라즈마 아아크 절단장치 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on development of plasma-arc cutting system with computer-numerical control)

  • Plasma arc cutting is a fusion cutting process in which a gas-constricted arc is employed to produce a high-temperature, high-velocity plasma jet on the workpiece. This process provides some advantages such as increased cutting velocity, excellent working accuracy and the ability to cut special materials (widely used stainless steels and Al-alloys, for example), when compared with iconventional oxyfuel gas cutting. From the view point of price and reliability of the power source, plasma arc cutting has also some distinct advantages over laser beam cutting. High-speed machines with NC or CNC systems are needed for the plasma arc or laser beam cutting process, while for oxyfuel gas cutting, low-speed machines with copying templates or optical-shape tracking sensors can be applied. The low price and high flexibility of the microprocessor arc contributing more and more the application of CNC system in the plasma arc cutting process, as in other manufacturing fields. From these points of view, a microprocessor-based plasma arc cutting system was developed by using a reference-pulse system, and its performance was tested. The interpolating routines were programmed in the assembly language for saving the memory volume and improving the compouting speed, which has an intimate relationship with the available cutting velocity.

  • 최근 전 세계적으로 유가상승 및 환경에 대한 관심이 증대되면서 자동차 업계에서는 차량 경량화를 통한 연비향상에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 대표적인 차량 경량화 방법으로 초경량 철강 차체의 개발을 들 수 있는데 이는 고강도강을 차체에 적용함으로써 강성을 증대시킴과 동시에 두께 감소에 의한 경량화를 이루는 방법이다. 하지만 고강도강은 자체의 높은 강성을 지니는 반면 첨가된 합금원소에 의하여 용접성이 떨어지는 제약을 가지고 있다. 펄스 GMA 용접은 One Drop Per Pulse (ODPP) 의 안정된 용적 이행으로 스패터 발생이 거의 없으며 일반 GMA 용접에 비하여 용접성이 우수하여 자동차 차체 조립공정에 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 440MPa 급 도금, 비도금 강판 및 이종 강판의 겹치기 용접 실험을 통해 강종별, 두께별 펄스 아크 용접에 대한 용접성 평가 및 데이터 베이스를 구축하고자 하였다. 용접부 단면마크로, 인장시험, 경도시험을 통해 적정 용접영역을 확보하였으머, 고속카메라 촬영을 통해 보호가스에 따른 용적 이행 현상을 확인하였다.

  • Recently, there were some successful examples that the laser welding was introduced into production line. However, the spread of laser welding is not sufficient in many industries. There are several reasons why it is difficult to penetrate the laser welding into production lines. Because it is different from reflection, absorption and permeation of laser beam according to material and surface condition. Moreover, there are significant problems in processing such as absorption and scattering of beam by the induced plasma or plume. Therefore, understanding of mechanism on formation of weld defect in laser welding of the laminated core for motor is very important. In this paper, it was analyzed in terms of materials which was source of defect in laser welding and conventional arc welding. As a results of analysis, insulation coating film of the laminated core was judged to main factor of weld defect. it could be well aware as tracing carbon volume, and it was deduced that weld defect by insulation coating film was caused by difference of mechanism between the two heat sources.

티타늄 금속 표면 양극산화장치 개발 (Development of Titanium Metal Surface Anodizing Equipment)

  • 본 논문에서는 알칼리성 또는 산성을 띠는 특정 용액 내에서 전기분해 원리를 이용하여 금속 표면을 산화시켜 절연피막을 형성하는 장치를 개발한다. 기존에는 주로 양극에만 펄스 형태로 전압을 인가하는 단극성(unipolar) 방식이지만 본 논문에서는 H-브리지를 이용하여 양극에 양(+)전압과 음(-)전압을 번갈아 가면서 전압을 공급하는 양극성(bipolar) 장치를 제작하였으며, 금속 시편의 특성에 맞는 다양한 전기적인 조건을 가지고 산화피막을 형성할 수 있는 장치를 개발하였다. 공급전류 가변은 PWM 변조를 이용하였으며, (+)와 (-)의 극성변화는 H-브리지를 이용하여 양극성 펄스전압을 공급할 수 있도록 하였다. 그 결과로써 단극성보다 균일한 기공을 갖는 피막이 형성되었다.

Al-7020의 Pulse-GMA용접에 관한 연구 2

  • Major problems in welding Al-7020 include shrinkage, rpopositgy in welds and loss of strength in the heat affected zone. Thus it is important to examine the mechanical properties and reliability of welds. In this study, a series of experiments was carried out to determine the mechanical properties such as micro-hardness distribution, tensile strength, porosity and residual stress distribution of the Al-7020 weldment made by pulse-GMA welding. The resuts of the experiemnts are as folows. 1) The micro-hardness of weld metal and heat affected zone was lower than that of the base metal. 2) The tensile strength of the deposited metal was much lower than that of the base metal. 3) The porrosity in weld metal zone was negligible under the adopted conditsion of experiemnts. 4) The residual stress in the weld metal was lower than that of the heat affected zone, because the weld metal was softened. And the mciro-hardness distribution, the tensile strength and the residual stess distribution of the weldment in the as-welded condition were compared with those of the weldment after heat treatment.

극성가변 AC 펄스 MIG용접기를 이용한 아크 브레이징 (The Arc Brazing by Variable Polarity AC Pulse MIG Welding Machine)

  • MIG brazing is used for many parts without melting base metal because of high productivity. Pulsed MIG brazing can be used to further reduce heat input and to improve the process stability. However, a significant amount of zinc in galvanized sheet steel is burned off in the area of brazes. Therefore, the brazing method to reduce the heat input is needed. In the brazing for galvanized sheet steel, variable polarity AC pulse MIG arc brazing can be applied to more decrease the heat input by setting EN-ratio adequately. In this research, we studied for the variable polarity AC pulse MIG arc brazing to decrease the heat input by using ERCuSi-A wire. As the result of increasing EN-ratio, melting ratio of base metal and burning off of zinc were reduced in galvanized sheet steel.

  • This paper reports on a study of the influence of welding variables on the weld shape of Al-7020 in pulse-GMA welding. Five variables, i.e., wire feed rate, peak pulse current, welding speed, welding votage, and pulse frequency were investigated for their effects on the weld shape. From the results of the 2$^{n-1}$ fractional factorial design, quantitative effects of each variable and the interaction of two variables were obtained, and consequently wire feed rate, welding voltage, and welding speed were determined as the main welding variables. Supplementary experiment was performed for ivestigating the detailed relationship between the main variables nd the seld shape. In this experiment, the penetation of the seldment increased when the wire feed rate was raised, nad the bead width increased when the welding voltage was raised or the welding speed was reduced.d.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of an arc-type linear pulse motor(ALPM) with permanent magnet are analysed using analytical and 2-D finite element method. To verify the analysing method. An ALPM which can be used as actuators of servo systems is designed and constructed. The stator of the ALPM has a permanent magnet and 4 pole exciters in order to provide a detent and thrust force. It's rotor radius is 70 mm and average torque of 60 $N{\cdot}cm$. The test results of the prototype ALPM have reasonably good agreement with those of analytic solutions.

  • 메탈핼라이드 램프의 가장 큰 단점중 하나는 아크튜브가 뜨거운 상태에서는 순시 재점등이 불가능하다는 것이다. 메탈핼라이드 램프의 점등중 고온의 아크튜브는 초기 램프가 차가운 상태에서의 방전 전압보다 재점등 방전전압이 높아 재점등 시키는데 압력과 온도가 감소되어지는 약5분정도의 시간이 소요 된다. 만약 램프가 뜨거운 상태에서 재점등시키려면 램프전극 양단에 약20[kV] 이상의 높은 전압펄스를 공급해야한다. 따라서 이러한 목적의 전자식 안정기는 EMII필터, PFC회로, 플라이백 컨버터, 하프브리지 인버터, 고전압 이그나이터 회로로 구성되는데 이것은 순시점등은 물론 램프가 뜨거운 상태에서도 20[kV]의 전압으로 램프를 점등/재점등 할 수 있다.
