  • This paper proposes a Chaos Pulse Width Modulation(CPWM) technique. For generating the chaotic numbers by chaos phenomenon, chaos area $\lambda$=0.99 in bifurcation tree of the proposed double tent mapping is used. A micro-controller is used for the generation of chaos numbers and triangular carrier with chaotic frequency is obtained through the process of frequency modulation according to the generated chaos numbers. The experiments are executed with the 1.5kw induction motor coupled with a 2.5A load. The experimental results show that the voltage / current spectra are spread to a chaotic range, and the switching noise of motor is reduced by the proposed method compared to the fixed frequency PWM method.

  • In this paper, proportional modulator which controls the second pressure of the pneumatic system was studied and proportional operating of modulator was gotten by two digital valves that have a fast dynamic characteristics and were controlled by PWM operating method. In order to more precision pressure control, this modulator consist of not only high speed two digital valves but also pressure sensor, measurement equipment and controller having a microprocessing function. In this study, for the development of the new proportional modulator, various research such as PWM control method, test equipment manufacturing, testing and evaluation were accomplished.

  • This paper proposes a new solution by carrier-based SVPWM method to solve the most serious problem of Flying Capacitor Multi-level Inverter that is unbalance of capacitor voltages The voltage unbalance is occurred by the difference of each capacitor's charging and discharging time applied to Flying Capacitor Multi-level Inverter. It controls the variation of capacitor voltages into the mean'0' during some period by means of new carriers using the leg voltage redundancy in the Inverter. The solution can be easily expanded to the multi-level. Also this method can make the switching loss and conduction loss of device equal by the use of leg voltage redundancy. First the unbalance of capacitor voltage is analyzed and the conventional theory of self-balance using phase-shifted carrier is reviewed. And then the new method that is suitable to the Flying Capacitor Inverter is explained. The simulation results would be shown to verify the proposed method

교류 쵸퍼를 가진 직렬전압보상을 기반으로 한 자동전압조절기

  • 본 논문에서는 직렬전압보상을 기반으로 한 직렬 전압 보상을 기반으로 한 자동 전압 조절기(AVR)가 제안된다. 제안된 AVR은 펄스 폭 변조 방식(PWM)의 교류 쵸퍼와 직렬 전압 보상을 위한 변압기로 구성된다. 제안된 AVR에 사용된 교류 쵸퍼는 commutation 문제가 해결되고 직접적인 교류전력변환이 이루어지기 때문에 따로 에너지를 저장할 소자가 필요없다. 따라서 크기와 가격이 줄어드는 장점이 있다. 직렬보상을 위한 변압기 때문에 교류 쵸퍼는 단지 보상을 위해 필요한 전압만 보상하면 되며, 따라서 스위치의 정격이 줄어든다. 제안된 AVR은 보상전압을 입력전압의 동상 또는 역상으로 만들어 줄 수 있기 때문에 입력전압의 증가 시 또는 감소시를 모두 보상할 수 있다. 실험을 통해 제안된 AVR이 입력전압의 증가 혹은 감소 조건에 대해 빠르게 보상해줌을 검증하였다.

  • ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is a safety device for preventing wheel locking in a sudden braking. It consists of hydraulic modulator, ECU(Electronic Control Unit) and angular velocity sensors. Its control methods are classified into three types; deceleration control, slip ratio control and deceleration/acceleration control. In this paper, ABS mounted vehicle is mathematically modeled and the proposed model is verified by actual cars experiments, and the braking characteristics of the control methods with pulse width modulation are compared and analyzed through computer simulations.

  • A high-efficiency full-bridge DC-DC converter with a current-doubler rectifier and an asymmetric pulse-width modulation is proposed. Through the asymmetric pulse-width modulation, the proposed converter achieves zero-voltage switching of power switches without the circulating currents. The proposed converter reduces the output current ripple through the current-doubler rectifier. A control strategy is suggested for the proposed converter to charge battery banks. A constant current and constant voltage charging is performed. The proposed converter achieved a higher efficiency compared with the conventional full-bridge DC-DC converter with a phase-shift modulation. The performance of the proposed converter is evaluated by the experimental results for a 1.0 kW prototype circuit.

A Study on Position Control of an Electro-Hydraulic Servo System Using High Speed On-Off Valves (고속전자밸브를 사용한 전기유압서보시스템의 위치제어에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents position control of an electro-hydraulic servo system whoch is operated by four 2-2way high speed on-off valves with either PWM PID control method or sliding mode control method, The advantages of using high speed on-off valves instead of electo-hydraulic servo valves or electro-hydraulic proportional valves are low price robustness for oil contamination and direct control without a D/A converter. The system consists of load cylinder inertia car potentiometer and external load cylinder. The experiments were carried out under several conditions and the results were compared. As a result the sliding mode method has shown good control performance and the robust and stable positioning of the elector-hydraulic servo system can be achieved accurately.

  • 디지털 앰프, 흑은 D급 앰프에서는 기존의 앰프와 달리 펄스 폭 변조(PWM) 방식을 사용한 스위칭을 이용하므로 $90\%$를 상회하는 고효율을 달성한다고 알려져 있다. 하지만, 입력 레벨이 작은 신호가 많은 일반적인 경우에도 전원 전압에 해당하는 큰 전압으로 스위칭하게 되므로 작은 입력 시의 효율은 상당히 떨어진다. 본 논문에서는 기존 앰프보다 효율을 높일 수 있는 4, 5-State PWM 방법을 제시하였으며, 시뮬레이션 결과 기존 PWM 사용 앰프에 비하여 대략 효율이 $40\%$ 상승하여 방열판과 앰프의 크기를 줄일 수 있다. 또한 스위칭 주파수가 기폰 방법 대비 1/2로 감소하므로 디지털 앰프의 실용화에 가장 큰 걸림돌이었던 전자파 방출의 양도 크게 감소한다.

  • 3-레벨 중성점 다이오드 클램프(NPC) 컨버터는 high-power medium voltage(MV)에서 많이 응용된다. 하지만 3-레벨 중성점 다이오드 클램프(NPC) 컨버터는 각 스위치 소자에서 손실이 불균형하게 발생하게 되어 스위치 소자 간 성능이 불균형하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 단상 3-레벨 중성점 다이오드 클램프(NPC) 컨버터의 기존 모델 예측 제어의 스위칭 패턴을 분석 및 스위칭 순환방식을 이용한 효율적인 스위칭 상태를 갖는 모델 예측 제어를 제안한다. 이를 통해 PI 제어기 기반의 펄스 폭 변조 방법과 기존 모델 예측 제어 방법의 손실 비교를 통하여 제안하는 모델 예측 제어 성능을 검증한다.

  • The major system of an agricultural power-shift tractor is the transmission, using power-shift. Because the transmission performance depends on the hydraulic control system, the most important aspect of the optimization is the design of the hydraulic control system. This study was conducted to improve a pressure modulation characteristics of the power-shift transmission hydraulic system. It has been tried to replace an existing pressure modulation method with a digital control by using HSSV(High Speed Solenoid Valve). The performance of the PWM control system in power-shift hydraulic transmission has been evaluated by means of experiment.
