한국 내연기관 개발의 현재와 미래

  • 현재 한국의 자동차 공업은 80년대 초반부터 급격한 발전으로 세계의 다른 자동차 생산국으로부 터 경계의 대상이 되고 있다. 그러나 그 내면을 살펴보면 아직도 중요한 기술은 거의 대부분 일 본이나 독일, 미국 등 자동차 선진국의 기술에 의존하고 있으며 특히 엔진 분야는 대부분 외국 기술에 의존하고 있다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 엔진은 자동차 생산원가의 약 30%를 차지하며 자동차의 성능을 좌우하는 경우 기술료 지급은 물론이며 부품구매 선택의 여지가 없어진다. 또한 요즈음과 같이 상품의 수명주기가 짧게 되어 가는 추세 하에서는 시장의 요구에 대처해나가는 엔지니어링 적응력이 부족하게 되면 결국 경쟁성을 상실하게 된다. 그러나 이러한 문제점을 인 식하면서도 80년대 초까지 독자적인 엔진개발을 하지 못했던 원인은 크게 2가지로 분석할 수 있다. 첫째는 한국의 자동차 회사들의 기술 축적의 미약과 둘째는 독자개발의 낮은 투자효율성 이다. 즉 엔진과 변속기를 기술 도입할 때 기술료 지급은 자동차 생산댓수당 5-6만원에 달하지만 엔진과 변속기를 독자개발시의 투자비는 약 300-500억원에 달하므로 간단한 산술적 계산으로는 모델당 100만대를 생산하여야만 투자의 가치가 있는 것으로 보여진다. 물론 위에서 언급한 바와 같은 여러 가지 요인에 의하면 이 숫자보다 훨씬 적은 생산량으로도 경쟁성이 확보될 것으로 예상된다. 이제 한국의 자동차 생산량도 연간 백만 대를 상회하는 수준이며 앞으로도 급격한 양과 질적인 팽창이 기대되고 있는 시점에 자동차 메이커들은 각사 모두 독자적인 고유 엔진 개발을 착수하였으며 일부 회사는 이미 성공을 거두어 양산 준비를 하고 있는 것으로 알고 있다. 그러나 아직도 엔진의 설계부터 양산까지 걸리는 기간이 타 선진 메이커에 비하면 상당히 길며 이로 인해 신제품의 경쟁력 저하가 우려되고 있는 상태이다. 이러한 문제점 해결에 도움을 주기 위해서 학계는 기업체의 기술 개발방향과 전략을 이해하는 것이 필요하다.grightarrow$cn-semistratifiable over$\longrightarrow$semistratifiable over $\alpha$ 2, 어떤 공간이 cn-Semistratifiable over $\alpha$이기 위한 필요충분 조건은 그것이 linearly cushioned cn-pairnet를 갖는 것이다. 3. cn-semistratifiable over $\alpha$의 부분공간 역시 cn-semistratifiabie over $\alpha$ 하다. 4. on-semistratifiable over $\alpha$의 유한개의 적공간 역시 cn-semistratifiabie over $\alpha$한다. 5. 폐 cn-semistratifiable over $\alpha$ 부분공간들의 합공간 역시 on-semistrbtifiable over $\alpha$ 하다. 6. 폐연속 net-cevering 함수에 의하여 cn-semistratifiable over $\alpha$ 성질이 보존된다. 보잘것이 없었고, 현재에도 각 시도별 또는 대학주관의 경시대회가 있으나 거국적인 호응을 받지 못했다. 물론 국제 대회에 참석시키는 것은 엄두도 내지 않았다.로 나타났다. 4. 코코넛과 소나무수피의 경우 암모니아 가스에 대한 흡착 능력은 거의 비슷한 것으로 사료되며, 코코넛의 경우 전량을 수입에 의존하고 있다는 점에서 국내 조달이 용이하며, 구입 비용도 적게 소요되는 소나무수피를 사용하는 것이 경제적이라고 사료된다. 5. 마지막으로 악취제거 미생물균주를 접종한 소나무수피 50%와 펄라이트 30%의 혼합재료를 24시간 동안 장기간 운전 실험을 수행한 결과 암모니아 99.06%, 황화수소 96.61%의 제거

Study on the Performance Factors of Two Stage Turbo-Charging System and Maximization of the Miller Cycle (2단 과급시스템의 성능 인자 영향과 밀러 효과 극대화에 관한 연구)

  • The Miller cycle is a diesel engine that has been developed in recent years that it can reduce NOx and improve fuel consumption by reducing the compression ratio through intake valve closing (IVC) time control. The Miller cycle can be divided into the early Miller method of closing the intake valve before the bottom dead center (BDC) and the late Miller method of closing the intake valve after the BDC. At low speeds, the late Miller method is advantageous as it can increase the volumetric efficiency; while at medium and high speeds, the early Miller method is advantageous because of the high internal temperature reduction effect due to the expansion of the intake air during the piston lowering from IVC to BDC. Therefore, in consideration of the ef ects of the early and late Miller methods, it is necessary to adopt the most suitable Miller method for the operating conditions. In this study, a two-stage turbo charge system was applied to four-stroke engines and the process of enhancing the Miller effect through a reduction of the intake and exhaust valve overlap as well as the valve change adjustment mechanism were considered. As a result, the ef ects of fuel consumption and Tmax reduction were confirmed by adopting the Miller cycle with a two-stage supercharge, a reduction of valve overlap, and an increase of suction valve lift.

Design and Construction of a Bottoming Organic Rankine Cycle System for an Natural Gas Engine (가스엔진용 유기랭킨사이클의 설계 및 제작)

  • ORC system was designed and constructed for utilizing the heat of the exhaust gas and coolant released from the gas engine which was modified to use natural gas as a fuel. In this paper the components of the ORC system were designed and manufactured based on measured data of the gas engine. The components are composed of two plate heat exchanger, the 5kW-class expander and multi stage centrifugal pump. The thermodynamic performance of the ORC system was analyzed by using the electric heater. Also, the developed ORC system was implemented to modified natural gas engine. Two gas engines were used to supply heat to the ORC system. As a result of test bench, when the heat source temperature is $110^{\circ}C$ expander shaft power, the pressure ratio and cycle efficiency is 5.22kW, 7.41, 9.09%. As a result of field test, when the heat source temperature is $86^{\circ}C$ expander shaft power, the pressure ratio and cycle efficiency is 2kW, 3.75, 6.45%.

Design and Configuration of 200kW Organic Rankine Cycle Turbine (200kW ORC 터빈 개발 및 구성)

  • Recently, there has been a growing interest in sustainable energy. One method that has been used is an organic Rankine cycle using conventional turbine technology with a low-temperature waste heat source. A 200-kW organic Rankine cycle (ORC) system was designed for a waste heat recovery application using R245fa as the working fluid. A radial turbine running at 15,000 rpm was employed to generate more than 200 kW with an expansion ratio of nine. Because an ORC turbine uses a refrigerant as the working fluid, the ideal gas law was not employed to design the turbine. In addition, the complexity of the molecular structure of R245fa made it difficult to design the turbine. Because R245fa has an Ma value of one at a low velocity for the working fluid (about 1/3 of the speed of sound in air) at about $100^{\circ}C$, it easily reaches a supersonic flow condition with a small pressure expansion. To increase the efficiency of the turbine, a dual stage radial-type turbine with a subsonic speed was suggested. This paper will describe the design procedure and performance evaluation of the ORC turbine using R245fa.

A Numerical Study on the Generation and Propagation of Intake Noise in the Reciprocating Engine (엔진 흡기계의 소음발생 및 전파에 관한 수치연구)

  • 엔진소음을 소음특성에 따라 분류하면 공력소음(Aerodynamic Noise), 연소소음(Combustion Noise), 기계적인 소음(Mechanical Noise)으로 나눌 수 있으며 소음원의 종류에 따라 분류하면 배기계소음(Exhaust System Noise)으로 나눌 수 있으며 소음원의 종류에 따라 분류하면 배기계소음(Exhaust System Noise), 흡기계소음(Intake System Noise), 냉각계소음(Cooling System Noise), 엔진표면소음(Engine System Noise)등으로 분류할 수 있다. 이러한 여러소음중 엔진 내부의 유동에 의한 흡배기계통으로의 소음방출은 자동차 실 내외 소음의 중요한 문제로 대두되는데, 이를 줄이기 위해 그 동안 소음기 등의 서브시스템의 형태와 그 위치조정에 관한 연구가 수행되어 왔다. 그러나 이것이 비용 또는 성능에 영향을 미치므로 본질적인 소음원을 규명해 내는 것이 필요하게 되었다. 흡배기계의 소음은 엔진의 흡입, 배기행 정시 피스톤의 운동에 의해 팽창 및 압축파 형태의 압력파(pressure wave)로 발생하게 되고, 밸브근방에서는 유동의 박리(separation)에 의해 발생하게 된다. 소음기 등의 서브시스템에서도 유동의 박리에 의해 발생하게 되며 특히 배기행정시 발생하는 압력파는 비선형영역에 있게된다. 흡기소음은 배기에 비해 그 크기가 작아서 그동안 등한시 되어왔으나 이것이 소비자의 불평요인으로 작용하므로써 이에 대한 연구도 활발히 수행되어야 한다. Bender, Bramer[1]는 흡배기계 소음의 외부 방사에 관하여 전반적으로 기술하였고 Sierens등[2]은 흡기계에서 1차원 MOC(Method of Characteristics)방법으로 비정상 유동해석을 하고 실험결과와 비교하였다. J.S.Lamancusa 등[3]은 흡기 소음원을 실험을 통해 예측하였고, 흡기소음도 비선형 거동을 보인다고 밝혔다. Yositaka Nishio 등[4]은 새로운 흡기실험장치를 고안하여 공명기(resonator)의 위치 변화에 의한 저소음 흡기계를 설계 초기단계에서부터 적용하려 하였다. 일반적으로 흡배기계의 복잡한 형상 때문에 대부분 실험을 통해 문제를 해결하려 하였고, 수치해석은 피스톤의 운동을 배제한 단순화한 흡배기계의 정상상태 유동해석이 주를 이루어왔다. Taghaui and Dupont 등[5]은 KIVA코드를 사용하여 흡기포트와 연소실 그리고 밸브의 움직임을 동시에 고려한 수치해석을 도입하였다. 하지만 이들이 밸브의 운동을 고려하기 위해 사용한 이동격자는 격자점은 시간에 따라 변화하지만 그 격자의 수가 일정하게 유지되어 있어서 밸브의 완전개폐를 해석할 수가 없다. 강희정[6]은 단일 실린더와 단일 배기밸브를 갖는 문제로 단순화하여 피스톤과 밸브의 움직임을 고려하므로써 배기행정 후 소음이 어떻게 전파해 나가는가를 연구하였다. 본 연구에서도 최소밸브간격과 최대밸브간격 사이에서만 계산이 가능하나 흡기의 경우는 밸브가 닫힐 때 생기는 압력파가 중요하므로 실린더와 밸브사이에 벽면조건을 주어 밸브의 개폐를 모사하였다.

Development of an Algorithm for Automatic Finding the Sick or the Dead Layers in the Multi-tier Layer Battery (고단 직립식 산란계 케이지내의 병계 및 폐사계의 유무를 자동 판정하기 위한 영상처리알고리즘 개발)

  • The objectives of this study were to develop an image processing algorithm for finding the sick or the dead layers(SDL) rearing in the multi-tier layer battery, which is a core technology of remote monitoring systems for layers, and to test the performance of algorithm developed in the experimental poultry housing. Based on the literature study and experiment, the standing up of layer was set as a criterion for judging layers whether sick or dead. Then, by the criterion set, an algorithm was developed. The image processing algorithm developed was tested how well it could and SDL at the experimental poultry housing. Test results showed that its monitoring correctness of layers standing up in the cages having all healthy layers was $92\%$, and $96\%$ in the cages having SDL. Therefore, it would be concluded that the image processing algorithm developed in this study was well suited to the purpose of development.

  • Over the past decade, the improvement of communications technologies and the rapid spread of www (World Wide Web) have brought on the exponential growth of users using Internet and real time multimedia multicast services like video conferencing, tele-immersive virtual reality, and Internet games. The dense-wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) networks have been widely accepted as a promising approach to meet the ever-increasing bandwidth demands of Internet users, especially in next generation Internet backbone networks for nation-wide or global coverage. A major challenge in the next generation Internet backbone networks based on DWDM technologies is the resolution of the multicasting RWA (Routing and Wavelength Assignment) problem; given a set of wavelengths in the DWDM network, we set up light-paths by routing and assigning a wavelength for each connection so that the multicast connections are set-upped as many as possible. Finding such optimal multicast connections has been proven to be Non-deterministic Polynomial-time-complete. In this paper, we suggest a new heuristic multicast routing and wavelength assignment method for multicast sessions called DVS-PMIPMR (Differentiated Virtual Source-based Priority Minimum Interference Path Multicast Routing algorithm). We measured the performance of the proposed algorithm in terms of number of wavelength and wavelength channel. The simulation results demonstrate that DVS-PMIPMR algorithm is superior to previous multicast routing algorithms.

Development of Pressure Correction System for Surface Vessel to Ensure Reliability of Compartment Test Result (수상함 격실기밀시험 결과의 신뢰성 확보를 위한 압력 보정 시스템 개발)

  • Tightness performance that blocks compartments is important for surface ships to achieve superior mission performance and survivability in combat environments. To meet the above requirements, airtightness of the structural elements and the appropriate strength to specific areas are checked during a test run after ship construction. In particular, air tests of compartments adjacent to the water surface are performed. In an air test, air is injected into the compartment up to the test pressure of the test memo. The pressure drop value is checked after 10 minutes to determine if the requirements of the corresponding area are satisfied. In summer, however, when the influence of the outside temperature is large, a phenomenon in which the internal pressure increases during the air test was identified. This phenomenon reduces the reliability of the test result. Therefore, a system was designed to compensate for temperature changes in the compartments through this study. The developed system calculates the amount of pressure change caused by a temperature change in the compartment and outputs a correction value. The pressure change was calculated using the ideal gas equation, reflecting the maintenance, increase, and decrease in temperature during the test process. A comparison of the calculated pressure correction value with the database of NIST REFPROP revealed a difference of 0.126% to a maximum of 0.253%.

Characterization of Charcoals prepared by Korean Traditional Kiln (우리나라 전통 숯가마로부터 생산된 숯의 특성분석)

  • Surface morphology and adsorption characteristics of black and white charcoals prepared from Korean traditional kiln were quantitatively analyzed. TGA and elemental analysis of charcoals were different from produced kiln, and thermal degradation temperature and carbon content of white charcoals were apparently higher than those of black charcoals. Surface morphology shows the activation progressed through the longitudinal direction of woods and new micropores were developed to radial direction on the surface of macropores as the furthermore activation resulting in the pore connection. BET adsorption isotherms show that there are low-pressure hysteresis due to the no desorption of adsorbates, which resulted in unique Type of charcoals overlapping Type I and Type IV. Such a low-pressure hysteresis is occurred from expansion of adsorbates, which were embedded in the micropore entrances and did not get out during the desorption run. The characteristics of charcoals such as specific surface area and pore size distribution did not show correct values depending on not only produced company but also sampling sites of one piece of charcoal. Therefore, it is not easy to suggest the quantitative characteristics of charcoals prepared from Korean traditional kiln. On the other hand, preparation the quality standard of charcoal is necessary for their special uses such as adsorbent.

Evaluation of Bearing Capacity Enhancement Effect of Base Expansion Micropile Based on a Field Load Test (현장재하시험을 통한 선단확장형 마이크로파일의 지지력 증대효과 분석)

  • A base expansion micropile was developed to improve the bearing capacity of the micropile, which bears a simple device installed at the pile base. Under an axial load, this base expansion structure radially expands at the pile tip and attaches itself around ground, compressing the boring wall in the construction stage. In this study, conventional and base expansion micropiles were constructed in the weathered rock where micropiles are commonly installed. Further, field load tests were conducted to verify the bearing capacity enhancement effect. From the load test results, it was revealed that the shaft resistance of base expansion micropiles was about 12% higher than that of conventional micropiles. The load transfer analysis results also showed that compared to conventional micropiles, the unit skin friction and unit end bearing of base expansion micropiles were 15.4% and 315.1% higher, respectively, in the bearing zone of the micropile.
