The base station (BS) of CDMA mobile system (CMS) provides mobile call services by controlling call processing functions. The call Processing part of the BS is divided into two components; the base station transceiver subsystem (BTS) and the base station controller (BSC). In this paper, we present the call capacity estimation of the BS about control signals and traffic data of calls by the simulation, and find the bottleneck points and problems which may occur in the BS. In order to estimate the call capacity, first we extract the major parameters for the modeling the BS. Second, we suggest the simulation model for the BS. Third, we estimate the simulation results by finding major objective factors such that the call blocking probability, the utilization ratio and the delay time in the traffic channel elements (TCEs), the BTS interconnection network (BIN)-COMA interconnection network (CIN) trunks, the transcoding channels and the CIN packet router.

Most of the current mobility management protocols such as MIPv4/6 and its variants standardized by the IETF do not support global seamless handover. This is because they require comprehensive changes of the existing network infrastructure. In this article, we propose a simple mobility management protocol (SMMP) which can support global seamless handover between homogeneous or heterogeneous wireless networks. The idea is that the SMMP employs separate location management function as done in SIP to support global user and service mobility. In addition, the bidirectional tunnels are dynamically constructed to support seamless IP mobility by extending the IEEE 802.21 MIH standards. The detailed architecture and functions of the SMMP have been designed. Finally, the simulation results, using NS-2, show that the proposed SMMP outperforms the existing MIPv6 and HMIPv6 in terms of handover latency, packet loss, pear signal noise ratio (PSNR).

Recently, the development of internet technology makes user's personal data used by being saved in USB. But there is a critical issue that personal data can be exposed with malicious purpose because that personal data doesn't need to be certificate to use. This paper proposes USB security framework to prevent a duplicate use of personal data for protecting the data which in USB. The proposed USB security framework performs certification process of user with additional 4bite of user's identification data and usage choice of USB security token before certification data when the framework uses USB security product in different network. It makes communication overhead and service delay increased. As a result of the experiment, packet certification delay time is more increased by average 7.6% in the proposed USB security framework than simple USB driver and USB Token, and procedure rate of certification server on the number of USB is also increased by average 9.8%.
The efficient provision of multicast service to moving hosts in mobile computing environments is not so easy task. Bi-directional tunneling scheme causes overhead about encapsulation and triangular routing. On the other hand, remote subscription scheme need freDuent tree reconstruction, which is inefficient for rapid moving hosts. In this paper we propose Mobility Based Mobile Multicast(MBMOM) scheme which is based on host's mobility information. Ultimately MBMOM try to find the strong points of remote subscription scheme and hi-directional tunneling scheme. If host's mobility speed is considered to be high, multicast packets are forwarded using hi-directional tunneling scheme from home agent continuously. If host's mobility speed is considered to be slow, remote subscription scheme is applied for foreign agent and it try to join multicast tree. We developed analytical models to analyze the performance of proposed scheme and simulated our scheme compared with MOM(Mobile Multicast), RBMOM(Range Based MOM), and TBMOM(Timer Based MOM) schemes. Simulation results show that our scheme has shorter transmission delay than above 3 schemes in the aspect of host's mobility speed and multicast group size.

As the interest in VANET is increased, a study on the beacon message transmission between vehicles is actively being made. IEEE 802.11p/1609.4 standard is based on a multichannel system consisting of multiple service channels (SCH) and a control channel (CCH). Multiple SCHs are defined for nonsafety data transfer, while the CCH is used to broadcast safety messages called beacons and control messages (i.e., service advertisement messages). However, most messages broadcast in the only one CCH belong to safety application that must be contested in dense vehicular network. This paper suggests safety message transfer algorithm in dense vehicular congestion. The proposed algorithm is that the priority of safety messages is decided by decision tree and messages are stored in proper queues according to their priorities. Then, safety messages with higher priorities are sent in turn by CCH in the assigned time. The proposed algorithm decreases the beacon transmission delay and increase on the probability of a successful beacon reception in an IEEE 802.11p/1609.4-based network.
The IEEE 1394 High Speed Serial Bus is a versatile, high-performance, and low-cost method of promoting interoperability between all types of A/V and computing devices. IEEE 1394 provides two transfer modes: asynchronous mode for best effort service and isochronous mode for best effort service with bandwidth reservation. This paper shows the bus performance and compared the transfer odes first at the link level and then at the application level. For the application level performance, we analyze the bus systems with fixed and adaptive interfaces, applied between the upper layer and the 1394 layer, using polling systems. Also we verifies the analysis models with simulation studies. Based on our analysis, we conclude that the adaptive interface reduces the bus access time and so increases the bus utilization.
In Next Generation Wireless Networks (NGWN), lots of information, such as voice and video data, will be used in All-IP networks. It is important note that seamless service for users and handoff between heterogeneous networks must be taken into account in such environments. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a SePH(Seamless Proxy based Handoff) using PMIPv6-based proxy model which is enable to improve the performance of handoff in NGWN. The SePH can efficiently support seamless and IP-based mobility by reducing the search process. The performance results show that our proposed scheme outperforms in terms of QoS (Quality of Service) such as throughput, handoff latency, packet loss, and signaling overhead comparing to the existing schemes.

As the drones industry evolved, the security of the drone network has been important. In this paper, MTD (Moving Target Detection) technique is applied to the drone network for improving security. The existing MTD scheme has a risk that the hash value is exposed during the wireless communication process, and it is restricted to apply the one-to-many network. Therefore, we proposed PHT (Preposition Hash Table) scheme to prevent exposure of hash values during wireless communication. By reducing the risk of cryptographic key exposure, the use time of the cryptographic key can be extended and the security of the drone network will be improved. In addition, the cryptographic key exchange is not performed during flight, it is advantageous to apply PHT for a swarm drone network. Through simulation, we confirmed that the proposed scheme can contribute to the security of the drone network.

Mobile healthcare is a fusion of information technology and biotechnology and is a new type of health management service to keep people's health at anytime and anywhere without regard to time and space. The WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network) technology that collects bio signals and the data analysis and monitoring technology using mobile devices are essential for serving mobile healthcare. WBAN consisting of users with mobile devices meet another WBAN during movement, WBANs transmit data to the other media. Because of WBAN conflict, several nodes transmit data in same time slot so a collision will occur, resulting in the data transmission being failed and need more energy for re-transmission. In this thesis, we proposed a MAC protocol for WBAN with mobility to solve these problems. First, we proposed a superframe structure for WBAN. The proposed superframe consists of a TDMA(Time Division Muliple Access) based contention access phase with which a node can transmit data in its own time slot and a contention phase using CSMA/CA algorithm. Second, we proposed a network merging algorithm for conflicting WBAN based on the proposed MAC protocol. When a WBAN with mobility conflicts with other WBAN, data frame collision is reduced through network reestablishment. Simulations are performed using a Castalia based on the OMNeT++ network simulation framework to estimate the performance of the proposed superframe and algorithms. We estimated the performance of WBAN based on the proposed MAC protocol by comparing the performance of the WBAN based on IEEE 802.15.6. Performance evaluation results show that the packet transmission success rate and energy efficiency are improved by reducing the probability of collision using the proposed MAC protocol.

In vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs), vehicles sense information on emergency incidents (e.g., accidents, unexpected road conditions, etc.) and propagate this information to following vehicles and a server to share the information. However, this process of emergency message propagation is based on multiple broadcast messages and can lead to broadcast storms. To address this issue, in this work, we use a novel approach to detect the vehicles that are farthest away but within communication range of the transmitting vehicle. Specifically, we discuss a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)-based linear back-off (SLB) scheme where vehicles implicitly detect their relative locations to the transmitter with respect to the SNR of the received packets. Once the relative locations are detected, nodes that are farther away will set a relatively shorter back-off to prioritize its forwarding process so that other vehicles can suppress their transmissions based on packet overhearing. We evaluate SLB using a realistic simulation environment which consists of a NS-3 VANET simulation environment, a software-based WiFi-IP gateway, and an ITS server operating on a separate machine. Comparisons with other broadcasting-based schemes indicate that SLB successfully propagates emergency messages with latencies and hop counts that is close to the experimental optimal while reducing the number of transmissions by as much as 1/20.
