The purpose of this study was to develop slacks pattern of elderly women aged over 60s by using the virtual twin and 3D virtual garment simulation system. The results were as follows; first, By using 3D Virtual Garment Simulation, new slacks pattern considered elderly women was development. The basic numerical formula were as follows, front waist girth W/4+2+1.5, back waist girth W/4+1.5+0.5, front hip girth H/4+0.75, back hip girth H/4+1.5, front crotch extension H/16-0.5, back crotch extension H/8-1.3, front dart amount 2 and back dart amount 1.5. Second, according to the results of the new slacks pattern's appearance evaluation, it estimated more highly than existing pattern in silhouette and ease amount, confirming that new slacks pattern is appropriate for the elderly women. Also, new slacks pattern was evaluated to allow proper space length of waist, abdomen and hip. Virtual models production through 3D body scan data, pattern draft and virtual garment digital program were applied to prototypic design method so as to enhance the fitness of ready-made garments. The use of the virtual twin made it impossible to comprehend the appearances and ease correspondent to motions. In order to evaluate wearing fitness, therefore, the system should be improved so as to change arm positions and perform various motions.
This study had a purpose of further investigating and developing the usage of the eco-friendly functional dye that has physiological and pharmacological functions. This study was implemented complex dyeing method which used both natural dyes such as Gardenia jasminoides J.Ellis colorant, which are the yellow dyes that have high brightness and low chroma, and Xanthium strumarium L. extract. The silk fabrics were used to dye in various methods. They were also used to investigate functionalities dyed fabrics by various treating method, such as their color fastness, antibacterial activities and deodorization, the following were obtained. The fabrics that were dyed with herbs had decreasing brightness as the herbs extract concentrations were increased and had subtly changing chroma. But, because their K/S values were under 0.5, they were not properly dyed. Color fastness differed according to the natural dyes and herbs' complex dyeing order. The Color fastness was good when the fabrics were dyed with the colorant first, and then with the herb. When the fabrics were dyed with mixture dyeing solution, the natural dye and the herb extract, the herb didn't affect the dyeabilities of fabrics as much. When the fabrics were dyed with the mixture of the colorant and the herb extract, the dyeabilities didn't have much changes. However, their color fastnesses were improved a little bit due to the complex dyeing condition. When the fabrics were dyed with the mixture of the colorant and the herbs extract, their antibacterial activities and deodorization were increased.
This study used a preliminary survey to help develop an ergonomic flight jacket that is suitable for the working environment and mission performance. The results are as follows. The ergonomic sleeve pattern was designed with a forward 165° incline that considers a shoulder joint direction suitable for the motion; in addition, a closely design opening provided warmth and safety from fire. As a result of the dimensional suitability, pilots evaluated that sleeve length and total length of the developed flight jacket were a little long (p<.01), while flight engineers and crew evaluated that those of the developed flight jacket were appropriate (p<.01). Pilots evaluated that chest circumference and waist circumference were large (p<.05), while flight engineers and crews evaluated that those of the developed flight jacket were appropriate. The evaluation of the motion suitability indicated that pilots, flight engineers and crew found the developed flight jacket more comfortable than the current flight jacket (p<.05, p<.01, p<.001). The evaluation of the usability of pockets and penholders indicated that pilots, flight engineers and crew found the developed jacket easier to use (p<.01). The flight engineers and crew evaluated that the appearance of the developed flight jacket was better than the current flight jacket (p<.05). The results of this study show that the difference of environment and mission performance has a significant influence on evaluation; therefore, it is necessary to develop separate military uniforms that included a winter flight jacket to reflect the needs of each group.
This study is to understand the preferences of pilots, flight engineers and crew who work in the same aircraft but are exposed to different working environments and perform different mission operations in order to develop an ergonomic flight jacket. Based on a preliminary investigation, a survey of 107 pilots and 36 flight engineers and crew was conducted. The results are as follows; Pilots can control the temperature inside the cockpit, so they are less exposed to the cold when working, while flight engineers and crew are exposed to the cold more because they have many external tasks. The reason for the problem of the current flight jacket was a difference in ranking between two groups, but the highest ranking was poor dimensional suitability due to the habit of wearing layers of clothing. As a result of preferred design, there were significant differences between groups in the item of overall style. Pilots preferred a bomber jacket style(P:68.2%, E&C:44.4%), on the other hand, flight engineers and crew preferred a field jacket style(P:26.2%, E&C:55.6%)(p<.01). They preferred a stand collar(P:71.0%, E&C:86.1%), a fastener slider for a front fastening(P:62.6%, E&C:61.1%), fastener tape cuffs(P:54.2%, E&C:47.2%), a jacket with a softshell(P:86.9%, E&C:83.3%), fleece as softshell material(P:88.8%, E&C:69.4%), and fastener sliders as a attaching method(P:69.2%, E&C:61.1%). A hem fastening will be selected differently according to the overall style of outshell. Additionally, they preferred more than 5ea pockets(P:51.4%, E&C:44.4%), fastener sliders as pocket's fastenings(P:48.6%, E&C:61.1%), armpit ventilations(P:62.9%, E&C:58.5%). The results of above will be considered to design an ergonomic flight jacket.
This study analyzes the type of preferred shopping items based on tourism shopping value pursued by tourists through shopping at travel destinations as well as verifies their impact on satisfaction. A survey on 310 adult men and women aged 20 to 69 collected data samples representing tourism shoppers in Korea. Based on the collected data, a factor analysis and a structural model equation analysis were performed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS. Tourism shopping value was divided into functional value, emotional value, exploratory value, and shared value. In addition, shopping items were categorized as physical materials and experience materials to identify the difference in preferred item types according to the value that tourists perceive. It also confirmed the adjustment effect of tourism motivation that affects tourism shopping behavior. According to the analysis results, the more tourists perceive functional and emotional values when shopping, the more physical material they prefer, and the more they perceive exploratory values, the higher the preference for experience goods. However, the shared value affected both physical materials and experience materials. Based on escape-seeking motivation, the adjustment effect of tourism motivation (a major variable to understand the behavior of tourists) on tourism shopping behavior was confirmed. Based on the academic and practical implications of this study, we hope to broaden our understanding of tourism shopping and revitalize research on tourism shopping.
This study developed and evaluated the motion control of 3D printed fingers applied to smart gloves. Four motions were programmed by assembling the module using the Arduino program: cylindrical grasping, spherical grasping, tip-to-tip pinch gripping, and three-jaw pinch gripping. Cap and re-entrant (RE) strip types were designed to model the finger. Two types of modeling were printed using filaments of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The prepared samples were evaluated using three types of pens for cylidrical grasping, three types of balls for spherical grasping, and two types of cards for tip-to-tip pinch gripping and three-jaw pinch gripping. The motion control of fingers was connected using five servo motors to the number of each control board. Cylindrical and spherical grasping were moved by controlling the fingers at 180° and 150°, respectively. Pinch gripping was controlled using a tip-to-tip pinch motion controlled by the thumb at 30° and index-middle at 0° besides a three-jaw pinch motion controlled by the thumb-index finger-middle at 30°, 0°, and 0°, respectively. As a result of the functional evaluation, the TPE of 3D-printed fingers was more flexible than those of TPU. RE strip type of 3D-printed fingers was more suitable for the motion control of fingers than the 3D-printed finger.
In this study, the patterns expressed on nineteenth-century blue and white porcelain among Joseon white porcelain were selected as the material for the development of the car seat fabric design. It was intended to be applied to car seat design by incorporating Korea's own traditional patterns to fit modern sensibility. First, seven pieces of nineteenth-century blue and white porcelain were selected through the literature, and motifs were produced using adobe illustrator, a computer graphic program. Seven car seat fabric designs were developed according to the construction method and development method of the produced motif. Work 1 was designed to elicit a soft and feminine atmosphere using the peony pattern shown in Table 1-1. Work 2 aimed to express a luxurious atmosphere using the image of the mountain expressed in Table 1-2 as a design material. Works 3 was designed by freely arranging the letters of luck expressed in Table 1-3 to form a free and dynamic image. Work 4 was intended to express a stable and rhythmic atmosphere by horizontally arranging the images of the gently curved wings, tail, and rhythmical tail feathers of the phoenix expressed in Table 1-4. Work 5 was designed in a vertical arrangement using the patterns and silhouettes of the tiger's back expressed in Table 1-5. Work 6 was designed using the wave pattern expressed in Table 1-6 to replicate the rhythmic atmosphere. Work 7 was designed using the images of rocks, waves, and the sun in Table 1-7 to express a calm and antique atmosphere.
This study was conducted to corroborate the factors that influence consumer characteristics and technology acceptance on online luxury platforms, which are rapidly emerging as distribution channels for luxury brands. To this end, the relationship between the degree of technology acceptance and behavioral intention of fashion consumers on online luxury platforms and the effect on specific factors such as age and gender was investigated to see if there was a difference in behavior and use behavior. A survey was conducted on Korean consumers between the age of 20 and 40 who have used online luxury platforms and then, a statistical analysis was conducted. As a result of the study, performance expectancy and facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value, and habit were found to have a significant effect on platform behavioral intention, but effort expectancy and social influence did not have a significant effect. Additionally, both facilitating conditions and habit were found to have a directly significant effect on the platform use behavior, and it was confirmed that the platform behavior intention also had a significant effect on the use behavior. As a result of confirming the moderating effect of gender and age, there was no difference based on gender, but only the relationship between price value and behavioral intention was found to have a moderating effect. It is hoped that domestic online luxury platforms will grow into channels with distinct characteristics and continue to develop in the luxury market by utilizing specific affect factors of this study.
In this study, an empirical analysis was conducted on the use of Korean design elements in the Hanbokwave project in 2022 in order to identify the expressed fashion characteristics and define Korean style. A case study was conducted on 98 items of clothing representing 10 Hanbok designer brands, and an analysis card was developed and used that classifies the silhouette of each item in detail. The analysis showed that in addition to the traditional skirt and Jeogori, the four stages of simulakr's image were prevalent in various fashion items such as shirts, blouses, jackets, crop tops, vests, dresses, and pants. In the composition of sleeves, many western clothing methods such as set-in-sleeve use and adjustment, hardcover buttons, and zippers were used to fuse the three-dimensional structure of western clothing and elements of traditional Hanbok to redefine it as postmodernism. It was recognized as a modern fashion, such as the trend of mixing and matching tops and bottoms, not a skirt and Jeogori set, by layering traditional clothes without hesitation or using them as a dress. As for the silhouette of the bottoms, the A-line showed a high frequency, and the prominent shape was identified as a traditional element widely used in modern Hanboks along with the element of wrinkles. This study is thought to be used as practical data for design development for the globalization of K-fashion in the future.
This study aimed to propose effective ways to integrate CLO into educational settings by conducting a comparative analysis of pattern functions in YUKA and CLO, specifically focusing on skirt prototypes and variations. CLO, being a 3D virtual sample CAD tool, is mainly used in education to facilitate the creation of 3D virtual clothing. In order to explore the applicability of CLO's pattern functions in pattern education, CAD education experts were asked to produce two types of skirt prototypes and two skirt variations. Subsequently, in-depth interviews were conducted. In addition, the skirt pattern creation process was recorded on video and used for comparative analysis of YUKA and CLO pattern functions. The comparison revealed that CLO provides the pattern tools necessary for drafting skirt prototypes. The learning curve for acquiring the skills necessary for drafting and transforming skirt prototypes was found to be relatively shorter for CLO compared to YUKA. In addition, due to CLO's surface-based pattern drawing method, it is difficult to move or copy only specific parts of the outline, and there are some limitations in drawing right angle lines. In the pattern transformation process, CLO's preview function proved to be advantageous, and it was highly rated on user convenience due to the intuitive UI. Thus, CLO shows promise for pattern drafting education and is deemed to have high scalability as it is directly linked to 3D virtual clothing.
